How have I never written a review for this place? I love it. It's clean. The service has been great for me (my gal is Andrea). Sometimes we do plain nails, and sometimes we do some fun nail art--and she's great. I've been getting polygel on my nails for the past 2-ish years. Its probably not great for my nails, but it has kept me from picking at my cuticles and leaving a bloody mess everywhere I go! I really wanted to like this place. It is a clean, cute salon. Staff was friendly. I scheduled the Ooh la la mani/pedi because I wanted the "extra" callus work and the "extended" massage that is advertised in the upgrade. I got zero massage (just a very wet-noodle lotioning of my feet, not even my legs) and the service felt like any other type of callus scrub you would get with a normal, classic pedicure. The whole process was so rushed I didn't even have time to raise the problem (kept hoping that the "enhancement" work was coming throughout my whole session, only to be shuffled around quickly between mani/pedi) The only enhancement I really got was the clay mask, which happened to break my hands out in little red bumps. Really wanted to like this place, but getting charged $95 for an "upgraded" service and feeling like I really only got a classic/basic mani/pedi made me feel like I got scammed. read more

I love this place! The experience was great. I had Marie and she was so nice and outgoing the whole time. I would give a 5 but I noticed when I got home the color doesn't go all the way to the cuticle. It looks like they are a week old already instead of only an hour. I have been following Lacquer Lounge Instagram for a while and finally decided to give it a try and disappointed to say I won't be back again. I went in for a gelish manicure yesterday and the service was ok for the price I paid. I did get some very very simple design so the total was $60. And it already chipped today, not even passing 24 hrs. Really felt being scammed. Also I had to wait 20 min although the the appointment was already made - And since everything was delayed, the service felt very rushed - no hand massage, no warm towel wrapping, not even cleaning the dirt under my nails, now honestly I won't even care about those rushed service with the price I pay if the nails are long lasting, but they aren't. This place is a little pricey but it's expected because it's in old city. I didn't mind paying the extra money because i felt like i was in a spa. The decor is light and it's spacey inside. It will most likely brighten your day. It actually had some places that were Instagram worthy. They had coffee and tea for the patrons as well. I will be back! When I went and bought a pedicure for my girlfriends birthday she wanted me to join. I've never had a pedicure before and was interested to see what it was like. My girlfriends stylist got to work right away when we sat down and I waited 45 minutes and my girlfriends was done but no one talked to me or said anything. I talked to front desk and they said they were behind but why did no one say anything? I got a refund and we never went back. I would not recommend as it was very unprofessional. I am sooo torn. First of all so many things I loved about this place. Everything was cleaned before my appt, the staff was so nice and wearing masks, and most of all i loved my technician. However I really am not happy with my visit. I previously had dip on my nails and I was aware they didn't do dip so tried poly gel. I waited 30 min from when I booked my appointment, my cuticles weren't done, and the technician upon first try didn't make my nails rounded rather a little too squared and asked her to make them a little rounder. then proceeded to make them super tapered and pointy accidentally and I despise the shape but didn't have the heart to say anything :( Above it all I got my nails done like 5 days ago and the gel is chipping on top. Now I am stuck with a manicure I am not happy with for 84 dollars with tip and so sad I could cry considering it was birthday money :( I wish I could just get a refund but I know that won't be likely read more

I've been here 3x since my first time going and I must say I love it! Everyone is very nice. From the time you walk in to the time you walk out you've probably been spoken to by every staff member even if it's a simple "hello". My nail technician Maria is phenomenal! Very talented and knowledgeable. If your nails are in an unhealthy state she will educate you on what service would be best to help the process of getting them back to good natural healthy nails. Besides she's really great at connecting with her clients to know more about them. In the few times I've been there as I said it's been very welcoming. I highly recommend you to try it out you will not regret it! All the ladies are great so do not worry about getting anyone mediocre because that doesn't exist there. Thank me later! The establishment is very clean and chic! You'll love the clean white with little pops of pink, grey and green. I just went here for the first time. I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The pedi came out nicely so I'm happy about that but the gel mani honestly looks pretty bad. It already looks like it's 2 weeks grown out and I just left the salon. The technician hardly took any cuticle off and so my nails look like little nubs. I told the technician that I wasn't happy with it and she basically said that what I was talking about wasn't my cuticle and was part of my nail and that they aren't supposed to take it off...even though every other manicure I've gotten at other salons have done this without questions. She basically shrugged and said there wasn't anything she could do. They did offer 20% off the mani which was decent of them but it still seemed over priced for what I walked out with. 2 stars for the pedi and for knocking 20% off the mani, but at $40 for a gel mani and not being happy with it I won't be going back. Lacquer Lounge is my go to spot for a luxe mani and pedi. The salon is extremely cute and even carries accessories such as jewelry and small bags. Lacquer Lounge prides itself on its cleanliness which it definitely delivers. Pedicures are done with a disposable tub liner, you're guaranteed a clean bath each time. All of the products are luxe, spa products and smell great! And most of their nail polish selection are from Essie, OPI, Zoya and CND. The staff is friendly and professional as well. I recommend going on a weekday Monday-Thursday between 10am-2pm if you are able to make it for the Early Bird Special (10% off one service, 20% off two or more services). I think this promotion is only valid at the Queens Village location. The Rittenhouse location offers a student discount though. Lacquer Lounge is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth the splurge. My favorite nail salon! I travel about 40 minutes and it's more than worth it every time. All the nail techs are knowledgeable and go the extra mile. I've learned more about my nails coming to this salon for the past year then I ever would've otherwise. (Thank you Kat and Valentina! ) They use quality products and they never leave polish to rot on the shelf - everything is fresh. They use bleach to clean so you won't have to worry about fungus. And there are usually two staff members cleaning their entire shift which says it all. I've been to many spas and in my opinion, this is spa quality for a fraction of the price. I've definitely spent about $200 total on a mani/pedi at different spas so lacquer lounge prices are amazing, especially when you consider that it's in the city not the suburbs. If you're looking for a spa feel without the locker room and robe, this is the place for you. read more

Because of Lisa's generosity, I'm giving another star to Lacquer Lounge. -------------- I followed Lacquer Lounge on Instagram for awhile before I finally scheduled an appointment. The work and the space looked super cute and I was excited to see what my experience would be like. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. Let me preface this by saying that my poor experience is because of the technician I had. The reception staff and other nail techs I interacted with while at my appointment seemed professional and nice. My friend and I came in early for our appointments and had no problem waiting. We were only there a few minutes before my nail tech, Maria, came over to me to see if I had chosen a color. I said no, because I literally just started looking. She asked what color I was interested in and after telling her, she brought out 3-4 shades and asked what I thought - cool right? I was thinking, "okay this is what I'm here for!" So, we sit down and I notice that she seems a little rough handling my hands and pulling me towards her. My friend's nail tech sits her next to me shortly after I sit down. I'm starting to notice the differences now. In addition to painfully twisting my fingers around - she also never asked me to wash my hands after the manicure portion. My friend asked for the same gel manicure as I did, and her nail tech suggested she wash her hands. Not a big deal, just a difference I noticed. So, during my appointment, they had hip hop playing and some songs were explicit - this, I don't care about at all. In fact, the music is the least offensive thing about my experience. My nail tech could not stop commenting on the lyrics and essentially acted like a young child who is excited about listening to music with "bad words" in it. Then, she continues to talk about kids and how she definitely doesn't want any. But her brother has kids and she loves them but no way will she have them. This continues. She then asks me if I want kids and I tell her I already have one. Now, again, please don't think I'm offended she doesn't want kids - the last thing I'm concerned with is what someone I don't know does with their life. What I didn't expect is to spend my appointment listening to a woman talk about her brother and family as if she was giving a soliloquy and I just had to listen. Okay, now let's move to the "'massage" portion - she barely did one. Then, she loosely wrapped a warm towel around my hands and then proceeded to leave my hands on the table and picked up her phone. My hand towel cooled off quickly and became a cold, damp cloth just making my hands cold. After she realizes I'm just sitting there staring at her, she takes it off, haphazardly puts lotion on my hands and calls it a day. My friend did not have the same experience I did - which is why I truly think my poor experience was a result of not getting along with my nail tech. I'm not a nail newbie.. I regularly get gel manicures and know what a thoughtful and professional experience is like. Also, most nail salons apply a thin layer of polish to the very tip of the nail "seal" it and she did not. My gel manicure did not last as long as my other gel manicures I've gotten regularly before. The receptionists were very friendly and introduced me to Camille who was to be my nail tech. When I told her I was looking for white or black she suggested Don't Bossanova Me Around. To which I countered with Tiramisu For Two. She compromised by bringing all four colors. As she gave me a fantastic pedi she somehow worked her magic (maybe it was the complimentary prosecco ) and I ended up with her suggestion. Definitely a winner! I went to this nail salon for the first time last week after seeing the reviews. I got a polygel full set, which I was told were similar to acrylics but not as toxic to your nail. I absolutely loved the shape and how it was filed. However, both my thumbs broke off after 2 days. I called the salon to come in and get them fixed as something that's deemed to be as durable as acrylic should not break off in 2 days. I don't have a strenuous job where I'm hard or rough on my nails, I'm a student. I figured it'd be a courtesy to repair 2 nails that broke off within 2 days as that's how it is with other salons, but to my surprise I was charged. As I'm writing this post, the next day after the repair, my middle fingernail also broke off. These should not be breaking so easily regardless. For paying over $100 for a polygel set these should not be breaking off so easily when I'm not even rough on my nails so I'm not very impressed. I've never had this issue with extensions. I wanted to love it here but it's just not sitting right with me paying over $100 for something that lasted a couple days and being charged to fix it on top of that. read more

I decided to try this place out after finding them on social media prior to heading to the airport for a Bachelorette weekend. The bride to be didn't have a good experience, both with the woman (Maria) who did her nails as well as the customer service afterwards. The woman who did her nails completely blew her off at the end without so much as a goodbye and ended up making several cuts around her nails. When she emailed them about a concern she had about her nails/person the next day, they blew her off and tried to put the blame on her. For there to be a sign in the store that they're willing to address concerns within 24 hours, they handled it poorly. I had got a pedicure done, which has held up perfectly especially with polish. I had had soft gel extensions put on and ended up walking out happy. I had a phenomenal woman (Kat) do my nails and she did fantastic with the coloring as well as shaping. However, I had been told when making an appointment initially that soft gel extensions were a great idea and will last around 3 to 4 weeks. A couple of days ago, as I was putting on a pair of Uggs, 3 nails completely popped off. Three! These nails lasted a week and I am so displeased. Between my nails just popping off and the bad customer service experience my friend had, I will not be returning. I can go to a local shop that I know will 100% provide a nail service that will actually last the 3 to 4 weeks. A local shop will not only have better quality but will also be more than half the cost. read more

Unsafe/Unhygienic policies-- I have been going to this lounge for years because of their stated commitment to cleanliness which is frankly, more important to me than the aesthetic quality of the nail services. Yesterday I tested positive for COVID at 8AM and immediately left a voicemail canceling my appointment. My call was returned by the Alton and I was encouraged to keep the appointment or I would be charged--including if I rescheduled my appointment! As a mom with a young baby, there is NO way I would put their staff or other customers at risk by coming into the salon with COVID, but I am now questioning every previous visit I've made here and wondering if I was seated next to a customer that was pressured to keep an appointment rather than staying home and keeping the salon staff and other customers safe. This policy of encouraging customers to put others at risk is absolutely reprehensible, unhygienic and unsafe. I will not be returning here. read more

I really wanted to love this place because I always walk by it and it looks so pretty but this was one of the quickest, sloppiest, most expensive manicures I've ever had. The scheduling was difficult and they incorrectly scheduled me and then moved me and then told me they didn't have time to do a pedicure at the new scheduled time. When I went in the lady doing my manicure was very nice but it was the fastest gel manicure I've ever had and very little attention was paid to the gel that extended onto my cuticles which means that they started lifting after day 3. It was $45 and honestly I'm mad at myself for doing it. The lack of costumer service and attention don't justify the price. I had a really great pedicure with Katie here. She was thorough and professional. My classic pedi looked great, lasted well, and I appreciated that she really took her time throughout the entire process-- I will definitely return to see her. This spot loses a star for me because of the atmosphere. Midway through my service, a group of manicurists began to gossip about their personal relationships and use foul language while doing so pretty loudly. While I'm not sensitive to a social salon or "bad" words, I found their yelling to be disruptive and kind of odd for a higher priced salon... I've definitely been to great spots with a similar social vibe, BUT I paid much less since a relaxing atmosphere is not what they promise-- however, Lac Lounge does... Probably not a deal breaker for most, but it is worth noting. read more

Ok , the place is clean, modern and the PERFECT place to go drink with bright lights, have loud conversations with many tipsy friends and talk loudly on your phone while getting a pedicure . Personally, I just want a calm, dimly lit environment that is not loud and bright. Also, I look forward to a nice massage chair and they have a long, uncomfortable bench that does not do much. If you want a party atmosphere and a super quick express pedicure , I highly recommend..I'm disappointed and I won't be back which is too bad because I live 2 blocks away.
