I've been to multiple states and multiple nail salons and no one does a gel mani and pedi like these people. Fast, efficient, and good. Having gone here every 2-3 weeks for the last 6 years I can probably count on one hand how many nails I have had chip and it's usually because I'm pushing the 3 week mark. It's cash only unless you're over a specific amount. Tips ideally in cash. It's no frills, but that's great for busy people. Went home in tears and immediately took what was left of the polish off. I called ahead and arrived at 6:15 for a regular pedicure. I wanted light lavender but they were unable to find anything similar to a picture. I ended up doing a very neutral color. They finished up and sat me under the dryer, but then decided I needed to leave five minutes before they closed. She wrapped my feet in saran wrap and I walked home. Every single nail was ruined. Yikes! This place has really gone downhill. My entire pedicure was so rushed even though I was the only one there. There was literally no massage portion during the pedicure which is my favorite part. The woman applied zero pressure when exfoliating my feet & heels leaving so she did not remove any dead skin which is half the reason you get a pedicure. My feet were not soft after the treatment at all. The brushes and tools they used were filthy. The towels were dirty and even the chair I sat in was dirty. They don't accept Credit Cards, Debit Cards or Venmo unless you are paying more than $33 and you cannot leave tip on the card. Not very friendly and a complete waste of money because I feel like all they did was polish my toes which should have costed me $15 not $33. I hate leaving reviews like this but I need to warn others that this is not the same Christian Nails I was used to... go elsewhere! read more

I really wanted to like this place after reading the wonderful reviews here, but I think I came on a bad day. I came to get my gel manicure removed and for a new regular manicure. For gel manicure removal, it is five dollars, for a regular manicure it is $17. During the process of cleaning my cuticles, she caused two of my nails to bleed from trauma. That manicure looked OK at the end, but I left still with dried blood on my two nails. The vibe inside was nice with relaxing acoustic music playing and HG TV on the screens, but I'm not sure I'd return in future because of the above. read more

I've lived in the neighborhood for 7 years and this has been my go-to nail salon and the ones I make my friends go to from all over the city. I'm moving soon and I'm so sad I won't be just a few blocks away from this gem... But I'm guessing I'll be back. The staff is so nice, the prices are fair, and the polish stays on for a long time. They have a credit card minimum which is a little high, but you can always buy a gift certificate for next time if you don't have cash. This was one of the last places I went before the world shut down- March 15th. That pedicure lasted me for a long time, but I was happy to return yesterday and felt very safe with all the protocols they had in place- reservation only with a locked door, sign in sheet with your name and number, temperature check, covid certification posted on the wall, plastic coverings on chairs that are wiped down after every person, most manicurists were wearing double masks and every customer is required to wear a mask and sign a waiver (acknowledging you don't have symptoms, haven't traveled in 14 days, etc.), plexiglass between manicure station and manicurist and at the front desk, hand sanitizer on every table and the front table, drying for pedicures at manicure stations so you can be socially distant. Small businesses are hurting right now and if you are comfortable, I hope you will support this business which is doing everything to provide a safe environment! read more

Despite being in the city for 5 years, I never really had a go to nail place , but I'm happy to report I do now after moving to this neighborhood last May. I was waiting to be vaccinated before getting my nails done, (I have a public health degree so I'm always on the lookout for covid-conscious businesses). but even if I was unvaccinated, I would feel safe coming here. They have plastic dividers up in many places, seriously wipe down surfaces after they are used (arm chairs, etc) and wear masks and gloves. Not to mention, they take your temperature when you come in and ask you to record it on a sign in sheet, along with your name and phone number for contract tracing purposes. They have a plethora of colors to choose from (gel and regular polish alike) and lots of staff in nice, white shirts with "Christian Nails and Spa" embroidered on them. I run 4-5 days a week, but my pedicure has remain unchanged, even over a month later. They always have customers but have little to no wait because they are efficient (mani and pedis simultaneously) and smart with their appointment times. Everyone is incredibly friendly, whether they are ringing you up or scrubbing your feet. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

The tools were dirty and my toe was cut so severely I had to leave prior to getting polish. I was then told I'd have to pay full price. I had to speak with the manager twice via speaker phone. I get pedicures monthly, and bedsides the injury-I've never received such poor service (no exfoliating, no callous remover, no massage, dirty cloths). The staff also sat around and laughed at my nail tech as she attempted multiple times to stop the bleeding. I've gone to Christian Street for years and just love them. Excellent range of colors both gel and regular, attentive and kind staff, clean salon, and great manis and pedis that last. They remember who I am every time I'm there and it makes you feel really valued as a customer! AND they are doing a really thorough job in COVID. Temperature checks and masks required, hand sanitizer at the door, some stations shut for social distancing, AND they have you sign in, I'm guessing possibly for contract tracing purposes, which is so smart. As a planner and part of being prepare, I compared a lot of reviews before deciding to go to a place and I am happy that I went with Christian Nails & Spa. This salon had a very high rating as well as great prices - if you pay with cash, you get $2 off! I got a pedicure and gel manicure for $43 ($20 for pedi and $25 for mani plus $2 off). They have very quick and attentive service - for a small place, they were able to handle large volumes of people (I went around 6pm on a week day). The one lady was amazing at multitasking. I watched her take care of two people at the same time (would work on the one person as the other was waiting for her UV gel nails to cure). The salon was very clean and hygienic. I appreciated that this place scrubbed down and sanitized the foot baths after use for each person. They had a fancy UV light box for the gel nails where the light was activated by touch. The UV rays felt intense, but I thought it was very considerate of them to heavily apply SPF 50 sunscreen to my hands before exposing them to the UV light. That was a nice touch that I have not seen done before anywhere else. My only grip was that my technician seemed to feel the urgency of how busy they were. For my mani/pedi, she cut a little too close to cuticles. It was a little bit too aggressive, as my one toe started to bleed. Best place I have been to in this area! It's very small though only 4 pedicure and 4 manicure tables. Just make sure you call ahead and you will be fine. They even do your pedicure and manicure at the same time which is rare but so nice! The pedicure was great. They scrub down the bath before with bleach. The massage was longer than usual. I got a gel manicure too and they started that while I was getting my pedicure so I got to sit in a the massage chair. The staff was very friendly! The prices are great, $25 for a gel manicure and $20 for a pedicure. I haven't seen prices that cheap with such good quality anywhere in the city. All the locals must know this is a go to place because it started to get packed on a Sunday afternoon. I will be going back here! read more

This place is super clean and organized. They are very efficient and speedy. I got a mani/pedi and had two people working on me at once so I wasn't at the salon for more than an hour and a half. They were all very friendly and worked quietly while my friend and I chatted. My manicurist did a great job with the cuticles and painting. I think the pedicure could have been better. I noticed that my feet weren't as smooth as some other ones that I have gotten. They only do gel/regular manis so it is dust free and doesn't smell heavily of chemicals when you go in there. If you're looking for relaxation, this is NOT the spa you should go to. I understand wanting to move people along quickly but the rushed nature with which they perform services is absurd. If you get a mani and pedi, it is norm for both these services to be happening simultaneously. Perhaps if you're a body contortionist, that's fine. But for everyone else, it's extremely unpleasant. They really want to push you out as soon as they can, which really sucks. The $35 minimum for credit cards is insane too. Good to know before you go.* All of what I have to share is good news for other salon-goers but did not work for me at all, hence a middling three stars, because there should be offerings for more than one type of customer. Quick pedicure, easily the quickest I've ever had, at exactly 20 minutes from the time I walked in the door til it was over and I was escorted to the drying station. Good if you're looking for an express pedi, bad if you're looking for a thorough, relaxing clip-clip, scrub and rub kind of thing. I was looking for the latter. The tech rushed the whole thing, and didn't exfoliate my feet or massage the feet or legs hardly at all. It wasn't relaxing, and I still have lotsa dead skin lurking around my feet - the whole point I went to begin with, so a complete fail for my purposes. I asked for a clear coat, and the tech put only the matte first coat and nothing else, no shiny clear coat. They seemed baffled by my request for clear only. BUT all the toes and fingers around me (busy place!) looked great from what I could see. Good for one kind of pedicure/manicure goer only - the affordable and speedy color creator. They didn't ask or offer a more thorough kind of pedi. I'll be going elsewhere for that but would definitely return for a fast, good-looking splash of color on my nails. read more

This was my first time at Christian Nails and it was not a pleasant experience. Upon entering the salon there is a desk that has all the nail colors on display. However, you are pressured into picking a color almost as soon as you walk through the door. This was a cold rainy day and as soon as I walked in my glasses fogged up immediately. I have extremely poor vision, so between my bad eyes and my glasses continuously fogging up from my mask/the heat, it was very difficult for me to visualize the color choices. But being pressured, I quickly picked something and sat at my station. During the service I felt as though the nail tech was working very quickly and carelessly. I felt this way because when she was filing my nails, she was filing so vigorously that she sliced my finger. I have been getting my nails done for decades and never once have I had my finger sliced due to nail filing. Now I have a 1/4" deep and 1/3" long gash on my finger. It is painful and hopefully it does not become infected ‍. I also must now wear a bandaid over my freshly manicured nails. After my nail service was done they sat me down at a table to have my toes dry. However, the table they sat me at was the exact same front table with all the nail colors on display. So now I have customers entering and looming over me to pick their color choice. Not exactly considered being socially distant. At this point I am ready to just get out of here. I don't like my nail color, my finger is sliced, and I have had random people bending over me. I go to the register to pay with my card, and the man tells me that their machine is broken ‍. Couldn't he have told me this at the beginning of my appointment? He points me to a mini mart across the street and tells me to go in there to use their atm. I enter this tiny grungy mini mart and squeeze through a group of people to get through to the atm. It it not really appropriate to assume that all customers are comfortable with entering an unknown business that does not practice social distancing. Needless to say I will not be a returning customer. I understand that business's are hurting right now, but these events were unacceptable. Although my experience here was overall poor, I would like to highlight some positives that I noted during my time there. Upon entry your temperature is checked and you are asked to use their hand sanitizer. Everyone in the salon was wearing a mask at all times and during your service the nail tech does wear gloves. They also clean each station after each clients appointment is over. Additionally, the man at the front desk locks the door upon each entry/exit to help with crowd control and to not allow anyone to barge in without wearing a mask. I am glad they have these precautions in place, but these do not outweigh my overall negative experience. If you do choose to visit this salon I hope you have a better time than I did. The gel manicure I received last time was great, but I had an issue when I got the gels removed. The technician did not let the acetone sit on my nails for long enough, and had to be really rough with the scraping tool when she was removing the rest. My nails are now severely damaged with lots of white bruising. I would love for this business to put more care into removal of gel polishes, as nails are extremely delicate and damage easily. read more

I come here for manicures regularly and pedicures occasionally. The service is speedy and high quality. Their polish choices are diverse and kept up-to-date, and I always get compliments when I'm out on my nail colors. Everyone on the team is good at what they do, the space is clean as a whistle, and the prices are OH-SO-RIGHT. Bonus: any massages that they give during mani or pedi are ON POINT.
