Under no circumstances would I recommend this class or this instructor. The description on their website claims the class is designed for "all birthing people" yet that could not have been further from the truth. I was the only mom in the class who was planning to birth in a hospital. From the moment I said this out loud, I felt ostracized. Jillian exclusively referred to me as "Hospital Mama" instead of by name. I was made to feel like I was making the wrong choice. Jillian then made sure that no one wanted an epidural or pain meds for their birth. I had planned on (and did get when it was time) an epidural but I knew better than to say so. However, she did single me out and said something along the lines of "You're not getting an epidural, are you?" We lied and said we weren't planning on it solely to avoid judgement. The class didn't provide any real helpful birth coping mechanisms or guidance on positions or breathing techniques like I was hoping. It was mostly a detailed walk through the stages of labor which was good info but not worth $250. To top it all off, Jillian allowed the class to venture into anti-vax convos and claims of vitamin K dangers that have been proven false. Several moms were allowed to share false information about black box labels and were not corrected by Jillian. Larsen Billing is incompetent and has not reimbursed us and our baby is now three months old. Stay away from Charleston Birth Place simply for the fact that their billing system does not work.

Dr. Williamson at E.C. Ob delivered my twins and she was such a God send. There were some unexpected developments in the pregnancy and I really feel like I could not have gotten through it without her and the rest of my care team at the hospital. They were all so kind and empathetic, they really went above and beyond. Which is why when we found out we were having another (happy surprise ) we literally moved to be seen here again. Obviously God had opened up other opportunities as well but the pregnancy and having good care was a huge propelling factor in our move and decision to come back to Charleston. My second experience was also fantastic. Not as exciting, more routine but I still got to have Dr. Williamson and everything was wonderful again.
