I was recommended Low Country Fish Camp by someone I know all the way up in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois! This place is truly amazing! We came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful experience. We're new to the area, and our server was very helpful in giving us information about Summerville and its surrounding neighborhoods. The food was excellent. Everyone's fish was cooked perfectly; flaky and delicious. It tasted fresh and like how all fish should taste. I loved every bite. I also liked that they served the tartar and cocktail sauces in squeeze bottles. We tried the Flounder Po Boy Sandwich, fried, the Grouper Bites, and a Scallop Po Boy Sandwich, grilled. Everything was so good, although I think getting those scallops blackened would have brought the sandwich up another level. Still, it tasted great. Usually, I'm not a fan of seasoned fries, but these were addictive. A charming little shack of a restaurant! We will surely be returning!

We are from Florida and have been her twice on our visit to the Charleston area. The fried shrimp and oysters were amazing. The oysters were huge. The shrimp and grit egg rolls you have to try. We have also had the chocolate bourbon pecan pie and the upside down orange cake. These are the best desserts we have had on our trip. We even had the famous coconut cake and two different cakes from Carmela's. Let me tell you these homemade desserts at low country are next level. Knocks the socks off the other famous deserts. We literally want to go back just to try the homemade key lime pie. Might as well get more shrimp and oysters while we are there.

Visiting family and the daughter wanted some fish. Sooooo glad we chose Low Country! He place is small and busy, has a great feel and comfortable outside even on a 90deg evening. I had the scallop po boy and it was excellent. Best I've had. Daughter had the scallop dinner, it was also good! Sister and mom had the shrimp and grits and shrimp platter. Noone left hungry! I've it a try!

Been coming here since they have opened and never can say anything bad. The staff is like family, the food is comfort, crispy hot and fresh, and the ambiance is laughs, family oriented and good southern love. This place is so family friendly, one of the former waitresses became one of my best friends and the god mom to my daughter...yes we visited so much!!!! From my calamari binges to the shrimp and grits and gator bites...can't go wrong with this local staple right on Central Ave.

Food: 4.0 fish and shrimp are excellent!! The Cole slaw is bland and fries have a lot of batter but taste good. Service: 5 Ambiance: 4.5 very cool casual vibe. Brilliant the way they did the outdoor seating. I wish I could give 4.75 stars but Yelp only allow me to pick whole numbers. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who hasn't tried it and is hankering for fresh seafood. The flounder was perfectly battered, seasoned, and cooked. The fresh shrimp were delicious. The hush puppies are the best (no onions or peppers), crispy outside and moist inside.

Low Country Fish Camp is aptly named - it's very casual. But don't be fooled, the food is fresh and superlative. This is my go-to when I want an excellent meal. I ordered their Grouper Bites and She Crab and Corn Chowder, and both were top notch. The Bites had a delicate, crispy breading and solid chunks of fresh grouper - just heavenly. I should've gotten a larger bowl of soup as my dinner mates couldn't resist taking more than the offered taste, and I couldn't blame them. Everything else on the platter was also remarkable. The hush puppies were hot and crispy, with a soft center that wasn't too sweet. I haven't had better. The cole slaw was just the way I like it - fresh, not heavy with mayonnaise, and not sweet. It was a nice crunchy addition. Even the fries were a cut above; they were crunchy with soft insides and piping hot. Our waitress was a stitch, and made our dinner delightful. She was attentive without hovering, and personable without trying to be our best friend. Just like the meal - perfect!

The location is great super convenient to downtown Summerville and local shopping. The restaurant outdoor is super low key and inviting. The service was good checking in to order and the likes but not overly annoying. The food was the real stand out. Everything we had was amazing! I had the special Mahi and a skinny margarita spicey and my husband had the catfish platter and son had the kids dried flounder. Portions were huge and delicious!

The duck legs were delicious and the El Diablo cocktail, but beyond that I was so disappointed. This place is raved about and I finally gave it a chance but the collards were so bland, the Mac and cheese was mediocre, and the pie needs more work. However, the staff was absolutely amazing and kind so they get all 5 stars.

Welcome home ... sorta I went to CofC ... but never been to this spot ... parking can be a headache but thanks to the host I was able to park in the front .. cozy lol spot ... for my app I got the gator bites .. s/o to the staff it was actually a meal but I was able to make it a appetizer .... Go Dawgs we just beat UF for my entree I went with the Duck Legs and my sides are the grits with stone grits and fried okra ... also side note I ordered the orange tea and it was AMAZING ... the gator bites were amazing ... seasoned perfectly like o did them myself at home ... the grits came very cheesy which I loved ... needed a touch of salt and pepper but was overall good ... the fried okra was also a plus and not over cooked sooooo the duck wings were an item I highly recommend they were drizzled in a citrus , chipotle barbecue sauce that add a spark to them. They weren't overly battered and not gamey or tough .. this was a good find considering I haven't been in Summerville ... Also s/o to our waitress Sarah she showed us a great time and was patient.

This has become my aunts favorite place to get seafood and I love that we don't have to drive to Charleston to get it. We are always seated immediately and drink orders are taken. The waitresses are always polite and approachable. We got in around noon and the crowd began to follow. Today is Saturday so we expected it to be busy. I'd say we waited around 15-20 for our food but it was fresh and hot! The catfish is delicious and I really enjoy their cole slaw. It's mayo based and nothing fancy. Just good Ole slaw. I love the patio they offer because the weather was perfect today. Highly highly recommend! Plus they had a gator platter special today if you are looking for gator in Summerville!

No, but they are a busy restaurant so you may want to call ahead.

What? If you can't afford it don't go!

Do they have heaters in the outdoor seating area?

    Yes they do.

Do they serve Oysters on the half shell?

Not at the moment, but occasionally we'll have them for a special in the colder months.

I would change the name because the name suggests they have oysters only and it turns out there is more, not a whole lot but enough for a non oysterholic to come in and have something to eat while you chug an ale or one of the shots with a slimy thing in it I got to try a shot of something that tasted like bloody Mary's mix with an oyster inside, I felt the slimy thing going down the hatch and later ordered a dozen or so oysters Parmesan, cooked taste a little like scallops, not bad and I could go back and try something else The calamari was ok, not as great as I can make them if I had a fryer with a thermostat, the batter was a little too thick and I tend to like them with a see through batter not a filler, it was crunchy ok but maybe a little overcooked and not a lot of people know that calamari should be flash fried for about a minute and if you go beyond that is like the Michelin man The place is fun and be prepared for a loud environment because it is small but go with an open mind and it is a nice different experience I will go back and try their fish and chips

It is enclosed and air conditioned and the tables are spaced out much more than on the inside. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and on point bringing their offerings. We started what would become our favorite dish of the night Scallops on the half shell. At first, you may balk at the price but believe me worth every penny. They were $26 at the time of this review but they are topped with two kinds of caviar. It was one of those dishes that after one bite you lean back and savor the flavors. The casino butter, sake and chili garlic will make your taste buds dance. I tried the chili garlic shrimp and gnocchi, and it was so good my wife threatened to steal it. Pillowy soft gnocchi in a rich, decadent sauce with hints of heat was outstanding. It is listed as a small plate, but I found the portion size quite filling. My wife had the oyster roll which was more like a po' boy not a sushi roll. We have had other oyster rolls, and they sometimes disappoint but not this one. Some restaurants just put a few oysters on the top of the bun and that's it, but this roll had oysters all throughout. It came with house made pickles and a single fried oyster on the side as a warmup. I highly recommend it. For dessert we shared a key lime pie semifreddo which was so pretty I almost felt bad for eating it. It was topped with a graham cracker crumble and both raspberry and lime curds. The texture reminding me of ice cream and was not overly tart with a nice hint of key lime. The torched flowers of meringue were really a great touch. The best word we both agreed on was "satisfying" and would definitely come back again!

Self serve on beverages, napkins, and utensils. Staff was nice. Food: this is mixed. I got the Baby Shark which is 6 fried shrimp and a piece of fried flounder, comes with 1 side and 3 hush puppies. The shrimp and flounder were nicely cooked without heavy breading. The hush puppies were weird. They were cooked but had almost a beer batter thick outside and the inside tasted almost like raw meal or flour. Tasted greasy but they were not visibly greasy. Since it's their namesake, one would think the hush puppies would be great. I couldn't eat them. The fries had batter on them. They were crispy. I prefer no batter on fries but for those who like that, you'd probably like them. Now the sauces: the tartar was too salty and was missing something that I couldn't figure out. The cocktail sauce was also too salty but did have a nice horseradish kick. There was something missing from it too that I couldn't put my finger on. Maybe it was just the salt overload messing it up. Overall the seafood itself was pretty good but the sides and sauces bring my review down.
