100 percent no. I came to simply remove my acrylic nails. States my reason for being there. They told me to pick a color. Ok. Picked a color (not that great of a selection). This woman proceeds to hack away at my acrylic nail as if it wasn't attached to my actual nail. To the point my body went into an automatic flight instinct and pulled away my hand. When someone is flinching stop! (Side not my threshold for pain is moderate) She is completely having a hard time Ive has acrylic nails removed before it's never this painful and usually takes about 10 mins. After ten minutes she proceeds to finish with one hand. No wait the thumb nail isn't completely removed so I retract my statement. I tell her why is this so difficult she tells me my nails are too old. My nails are too old??? Wait what. I tell her it hurts less when I do it at home. She then tells me fine do it at home! Ugh what a lack of customer service and skill. Thank goodness my regular nail salon is 100 percent better there are just closed on tuesdays. Okay, so this is not my regular nail salon. My normal spot is in East LA, so going to this new place was more ritzy than what I'm used to. I paid $40 + a $1 debit fee for a gel mani and a regular pedi. I sat in a massage chair the whole time and after a looong stressful day at work, I was in heaven! I wish they had cleaned up my edges a little better and they cut my nails a little shorter than I would have liked. I've always gone to this nail salon as a last resort for the past couple of years because they're hardly ever busy and their prices are somewhat reasonable. Every time I've gone, I've never been completely satisfied with my nails but I always have to remind myself never expect too much. But today, my experience was so awful, I finally decided to write a review. I gave 2 stars because some of the other women who have done my nails are very friendly and welcoming, otherwise I would have only given 1 star. Poor service, woman cut my cuticle, attempt to overcharge me, and tools/environment were not clean. Overall, I will not be returning to this salon nor do I recommend anyone to go. (If you would rather not read about my horrifying experience below, just skip it and go to 'Nails by Lynn' on Huntington Dr. in Duarte and ask Kristen for all your mani/pedi needs!) Today, my experience was absolutely terrible for the following reasons: 1. There were only two other people getting their nails done while there were four employees and I still had to wait quite some time before they could even start on me. Then the woman who started my nails, ended up going to eat her lunch in the back for a good 15 minutes while the other women sat around. 2. The woman was trying to charge me $15 over the actual price. I asked for the break down again and realized she had changed the prices since I first asked her when I arrived. I caught her and she gave me the original price again. 3. She insisted on fixing my broken thumb nail by placing the powder on my entire nail rather than smoothing it over where it broke - resulting in one nail looking like an acrylic nail compared to the rest of my normal nails. Therefore my nails were not evenly cut/filed. 4. She was filing over the powder with the machine and CUT my cuticle. What's worse is that she tried to play it off as if nothing happened even after I asked her to stop multiple times. 5. She didn't do the colors I had asked her to do on my ring finger and when I told her, she was just going to put a coat on top of the color already on my nail so I told her I didn't need the other color. 6. She soaked my cut finger with acetone, "forgetting" she had just cut me causing me to pull my hand back as my finger began to sting. I instantly regretted not leaving the salon after she cut my cuticle and didn't bother to let me clean it off - which made me uncomfortable because she used the same tools that she used on the woman she previously gave a pedicure to and only lightly washed them after (gross). I ended up leaving the salon giving no tip and unfortunately without this woman's name. read more

The yelp reviewers gave this place 5 starts what??!! I was pressed for time so I decided to take a chance on this nail salon since they were not busy at all. Now I know why. They reuse their scrubbing brushes for pedicures they don't have a high heat machine to disinfect their tools, they even cut my nail with the manicure!! The person who did my pedicure did it under 20 minutes, cold lotion, fast scrubbing, wet dirty towels left on my feet as I waited for my polish to dry. Nothing relaxing or enjoyable about it. Great little shop right down the street from the farmers market!! I recently moved nearby and was in desperate search of a decent place to get my nails done. This place is great! I called on a Saturday afternoon asking if were possible to get a gel mani and regular pedicure that same day after I got off work and the lady who answered the phone was very friendly. She did let me know that the shop was closing about half an hour before I was asking to come in . They generously took me right in. I don't get anything fancy or any detailed work ever. The ladies are very friendly and I love even more that they seem family friendly- I had my young daughter with me and there were lots of other little kids with their parents. This is the best nail salon Ive ever been to! I always get fills elsewhere and the techs are never this good and end up charging me way more for worse quality. The ladies here are fast, efficient , friendly and vey detailed oriented. They got the shape and length of my fills perfectly as well as an even and smooth professional application. They were proficient but not super friendly, we did not feel very welcomed the entire time. But I gave 3 stars because my nails look great even if the experience itself was lacking. Only nail flaw we had were the flowers my niece got on thumbs weren't the looking but the ones on her big toes look awesome. Overall I don't think I'd recommend to my friends when there are other nail salons with reasonable prices that will go out of their way to make the experience as relaxing and positive as possible. read more

Came in today and they remodeled! They got all new nail colors,new chairs for us to sit in and they even gave us food. I think they held a little party today for the remodeling and Julie was so nice. Tried this place because of the reviews. I came in for a manicure and pedicure and the lady that did my pedicure was done within 15mins!! She was rushing and kept saying how they were short staffed. We called for an appointment for 3 people, they were not ready when we got there, which is fine, I understand people run over their time or want things fixed. I got the spa pedicure with callus remover. My feet feel exactly the same as they did before I went in, the massage lasted 2 minutes and was terrible. It felt like they were trying to get us out as soon as possible. My friend that went with me did not want her nail pulled, she told the lady no about 5 times and she wouldn't stop. (Only a podiatrist should be removing ingrown nails, it is against state board regulations to do so in a salon) My friend left almost in tears because the lady would not leave her nail alone. She didn't even get a top coat on her toes because the lady was so mad that she didn't want her to pull her hang nail. I broke out with a rash on my leg the next day, it's 3 days later and it still hasn't cleared up. I should have known to get up and leave when the lady doing my nails refilled her supplies while she was wearing the gloves that she had been wearing when she was doing my feet. read more
