The food was absolutely delicious! My wife and I got the brisket and pulled pork combo with candied yams and Mac and cheese. I definitely recommend trying this place if you like BBQ! I have no real complaints about the food other than they put the same mustard sauce on everything i ordered and when you have the three meat plate It should have been an option Personally, I didn't care for the mustard sauce and therefore that was a big no no on my meal. The tenderness of the smoked meat was in my opinion good as I had ribs, brisket, and chicken. I was surprised that by the time I actually got my food (the meat items) that it was cold I did enjoy the candy yams as well as the baked beans had a very sweet barbecue taste to them. Although my three meat plate included chicken, I did not realize that it would not be the Baked or fried chicken, but in fact it would be smoked chicken and I know a lot of people like the fried or baked versions as do I but I guess I'll have to try that separately the next time The restaurant is a little shop as the owner is also the Cook and one person to wait tables I thought the restaurant itself was a small and cute little restaurant and it appeared to be clean so that was a big plus, but of course it appears the AC had broken down and they were having to force cooler air from one side of the building to the other I personally would go back and try a few other things, but the Mrs. wasn't in agreement As far as service, I have no issues with the service we received on our visit read more

FANTASTIC BARBECUE! We had a wonderful ribs platter and pulled pork platter with sides of collard greens, baked beans and candied yams. Everything was incredibly delicious and all home cooked. Craving BBQ, found Lady Sugar Shack on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. The owner greeted us, took our order, and surprisingly was the cook. The restaurant was a homey place that felt like it was in a small town in Georgia. I had the fried chicken, mac & cheese, and baked beans. All 3 were absolutely delicious! The chicken was tasty, the coating crispy and the meat moist. The Mac and cheese was creamy and perfectly flavored. The baked beans had had a hint of cinnamon which I loved! I asked for a side of the bbq sauce, and enjoyed the tang. It is mustard based and had the perfect blend of seasoning. It was great to hear the owner Lynette's story of how she got started. Let me tell you something about this place. First, It is a small family run BBQ restaurant with Gigi cooking, daughter waiting tables and granddaughter helping out. Second, it was the most amazing BBQ I have had in a VERY, VERY long time. The ribs had a perfect bite to them, tender, juicy and just the right flavor to them. The pulled pork with it's Carolina gold wad succulent and just the right smoke on it. But oh, wait, there is more! The baked beans were so flavorful! They wouldn't tell me their'secret family recipe' but I was blown away by their flavor. Both sweet and savory. This place is amazing!!! The owner is in the back cooking your meal with love from scratch. Expect to wait a little for your food to cook but the ambience is nice and chill so just relax and enjoy. This was the best mean we've had in Daytona. And the best BBQ we've had in years. We never order desserts but the meal was so amazing we got the peach cobbler and banana pudding....omg WOW! Hands down some of the best food in Daytona. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, the perfect place to enjoy some real southern comfort food.
