I haven't been to a Laemmle in quite some time, but I'm glad they're still around! Independent theaters are always just as important as the big time theaters. I've had good experiences at Laemmle's Encino theater and had many memories from their old Sunset and Fallbrook locations, but this was my first time at their North Hollywood theater. You can buy your tickets online or in-person inside. I'm not gonna lie - with everything automated nowadays, it's been a minute since I actually got to interact with theater employees at the box office! Speaking of which, they were all friendly and happy to assist the moviegoers. Since it's an independent theater, the crowd leans towards the older side (nothing wrong with that since they're more respectable). The interior of the theater is clean, the sound and image are great, they've got a nice selection of independent movies - if you're in NoHo, give Laemmle a shot! Super cute theatre! Got last minute tickets for a busy film (obsession) and it was great. They serve beer and alcohol so that's nice for a movie. I'm not sure if any seats recline, but they have a great lean and it's not hard to get comfy. My experience from this theater was by far the best in every way possible! Did not have to run around to find parking whatsoever, I found one up front. As me and my family make our way inside, we get greeted by the amazing workers. Very professional and friendly service. We chose to see The Super Mario Galaxy movie and headed our way to the snack bar. Being our first time here, we decided to try out most of the snacks. Starting off with a beer of course. A side of 6 chicken tenders, curly fries, icee's, soda and popcorn! Inside the room it is very spacious, sound quality is great. Everyone enjoyed it and were respectful while watching the movie. Still a great, quiet, less crowded theatre to come and experience either arthouse films or current blockbusters. It really starts with the staff, you can tell, aren't people who just enjoy movies, but they are people who enjoy 'the arts' overall and they do bring happiness and joy to their work and it radiates from their level and quality of service. The inside hides more real estate than the outside appears. It's always well kept and you'd have to be an ass to not help keep it so with courteous behavior on your part. I'm not sure if it's in every theater, but at least some have the aisle right in the middle of the theater, which means nobody gets a center seat, and it also means you don't have a long aisle of patrons to skootch by in the dark. Unlike standard, big box theaters, the setting is much more intimate & personalized. Plus the staff is really friendly & the theatre is quite a charming, architectural GEM! Parking in this area is difficult, so it's best to use the theatre's suggested parking lot (call for details); it's within quick walking distance & validation for a discounted rate is provided. We really really need to support these independent movie houses. The seats aren't great and the popcorn (even at the first show!) contained a lot of bits that will break your dental work. But it's still OK and they have hot dogs that don't look toxic. And they're DOING it. They're showing the films we need to be shown. This location has easier parking and even validates. We must do everything we can to keep this place going. So the popcorn isn't delicious but the staff is really excited and helpful and the film selection is on point. Go. Go. First time to this Laemmle. I usually go to the one in Glendale and Pasadena (closed down now). We came here to watch Wicked, and it was a good experience. The screen was a good size. The sound was good. The seats were comfortable, and you can lean back, but it won't stay in place. The cup holder is a good size. The floors were clean. The popcorn was good, but the butter not so good because I didn't taste any salt which is probably a good thing. There are free flavor toppings which helped a lot. I used the jalapeno flavor. Free refill on the popcorn if you buy a large and the guy was nice enough to give us our free refill now instead of coming back after we finish our bucket because the concession stand closed at 8 PM which I thought was really early. Free refill on our large drink as well, but you have to finish it first before you can get a refill. Restroom was clean. Plenty of parking in a large structure behind the theatre. So, I really wanted to love this place but it left a little to be desired. I don't really have a ton of negative to say about the place since for the most part everything was great, however the areas where they lack are crucial for the movie going experience. My favorite part of my visit here was discovering the popcorn station where they have all the flavor dust you could ever want. One of the workers also exclaimed that they use real butter which is enough to get me going lol. I enjoyed a lovely hard cider I'd never heard of that began with a P, the employee referred to it as the "fancy" one. I ended up getting two to enjoy with my white cheddar and nacho cheese flavored popcorn. The ticketing process was easy, simply scan your QR code and proceed to concessions then the theatre. Now, what I didn't like was the actual theatre. I thought the sound was VERY low. I also thought the screen was pretty dark. Nobody wants to pay to go to a theatre when they could have had a better experience at home. It took a long time for my eyes to adjust. I'm not even sure they did because I just kept noticing how dark the movie was. Floors were clean and the reclining seats were comfortable enough (they are not electric loungers). I probably wouldn't come back because I'd like to hear and see the movie in the best possible quality. 3 stars for friendly employees and great concession selections. read more

This is the ONLY theater I've attended for the past 12 years. Even when I moved from the area and another theater chain was two blocks away, I still Ubered to Laemmle Noho 7. It truly has a "small town/family" feel to it. As soon as you cross the threshold you're greeted with a warm welcome. Also, the staff knew my order and would literally start working on it before I even got to the concession counter. They are the absolute best! Unfortunately, I moved even farther away over a year ago and a Uber to the theater would cost $30 one way. Therefore, I had to stop going. I haven't been to any theater since then, because no other theater compares. I've been streaming since then, but it's just not the same. I miss my Laemmele NoHo7. read more

This theater is a small but nostalgic feel, dark but inviting Front lobby. Very friendly staff well layer out concession stand to get your pre movie goodies. The popcorn is popped fresh and don't forget to get your free refill of popcorn. You can opt in or out of the butter on your popcorn. Great selection of not only fountain drinks but slushy drinks as well. Nachos, hot dogs candy and more. The seating because I 5 6 wide were comfortable rooming and plenty of leg space. I picked an seat and I loved that they had a rail that I could grab and hold on as I proceeded to my seat. I picked my seat online which made it easy just showed my qr code and that granted entrance. I saw an amazing film about "Archbishop Carl Bean the movie was called "I Was Born This Way" a spiritual leader, he forgo a butting singing carreer in Motown, and instead started Minority Aids Project during the height when aides first hit, and Unity Fellowship Church which was one of the first LGBTQ+ church for people of color. This documentary depicted his life, personal struggles,successes, achievements, and was moving, inspirational, entertaining, with guess appearances from Lady Gaga, Maxine Waters, Dianne Worrick, Questlove, and many more. read more

It's the @Light_skin_dragon soaring through the neighborhood and I brought my sister along. I wanted to invite her out because she really doest get out. I got free tickets and this documentary movie that was playing at this movie theater. Crazy as I think about it. I walked by this place for years or drove past it. There is street parking but you have to find it and look at street signs. It's nice and comfortable inside, They serve alcohol at the front I bought a ipa for 9 bucks and pop corn. There was no cons for me. I enjoy myself and knowing I was trying to build a relationship with my sister but there's no need to do that if it's a one way street. read more

My favourite thing about the Noho Laemmle is that it's walking distance from my home - worth a mention, but not a universal perk. The theatre leaves plenty to be desired, but it's an okay spot to catch a limited-release indie film that wouldn't be playing at the Chinese or the Regal. The Good: They have a nice beer and wine selection. The main screen, #1, is a great cinema. It's as big as a Regal or AMC space. The seats are fairly comfortable. Screen size/picture/sound are the best. Unsurprisingly, the biggest movie they're showing will be in here. The Bad: They removed their automated ticket machine that allowed you to scan your pre-purchased ticket and print your stub without having to wait in line and talk to a cashier. And maybe it's just my luck, but the little art films I want to see always have the dumbest showtimes. Not till 4pm for the first showing? Only one time, at 9pm? Ugh. The Ugly: The smaller cinemas are hit or miss. Most of them have uncomfortable seats with zero recline. The last time I went, all the seats in my row had peeling armrests that felt like placing your elbows on a cheese grater - that cinema, and likely others, need major maintenance. There used to be two great spots right across the street from the theatre for brunch or dinner before or after your movie - District Pub and The Federal - both of which have closed, sadly. Of course, this isn't in Laemmle's control, but fixing their deteriorating seats certainly is. read more

Cute little theater in the middle of NoHo arts district for movies. Appreciate the option to see international films. Found it cleaner than some of the big name theaters around, even the restrooms. Great seats for an affordable price and a good overall experience. Staff were very courteous and service was quick. Typical NoHo parking scenes, best to use the parking structures around the corner. Walking distance from all the restaurants and bars NoHo has in offer, definitely fits right in a dinner and movie plan. read more

My husband I see catch a movie every Friday and the first theater I look at to see what their showing despite living over in WeHo is Laemmle NoHo. Definitely one of my favorite movie theaters in LA. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They have a good selection of concessions offering even some vegan nibbles as well as beer and wine. Comfy seats, chill atmosphere and there aren't an annoying number of trailers like AMC and Regal. There's a garage around the block for easy parking. Pro Tip: If you park in the garage you can exit the theater out the back by Screen 7 and from there it's just a few steps away to the garage instead of having to walk around the block. This is one of our favorite local theaters to see a movie. We most recently came here yesterday to see Deadpool and Wolverine. All of the AMC theaters were sold out, which baffles me as Laemmle provides such a superior movie experience! This theater is in the cool arts district of NoHo, and walking distance to bars and restaurants. Unfortunately, we've recently lost some (like the Federal Bar!) but there are still others and it's a developing area. Parking in the business center behind the theater is validated. The theater is clean, intimate but also with enough screens for variety, and the staff is friendly. They have a good beer and wine selection and feature drafts from local breweries, like Lincoln in Burbank. I like the historic movie posters and vintage local photos that they decorate the hallways with. The seats are comfortable and recline, they don't keep the theater at freezing temperatures, or show you 50 trailers and ads like AMC does. The operators of this theater seem to really care about how they present a movie (lights don't go from 0 to 100 during credits, I've never seen projection issues, etc). Also, my husband saves ticket stubs and was shocked that they offered a printed ticket without him having to ask, which never happens! read more

Wicked in theater 1 was wonderful. Convenient location as am around the corner. Unfortunately my first visit, nice that wine is in the lobby, sound in theater 1 was barely up to standard...the musical numbers were underwhelming at best due to poor audio playback. Restrooms were dirty and urinals broken and some covered with trash bags. Stalls out of order. Hall carpet old and in need of replacement.. An old movie house in need.
