We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (1:15pm). It's pretty barren inside but there are a couple picnic tables outside. Donut prices range from $0.99 USD to $3.69 USD. They also have drinks and 8 ice cream options. If you pay with cash, you don't get charged the service fee (3.70%). - Blueberry fritter ($3.29 USD) - second time I've found a place that does blueberry fritters. My favourite donut from the bunch. - Buttermilk bar ($2.59 USD) - nice bite, would order this again. - Lemon filled ($2.59 USD) - filling was better than the raspberry but the texture wasn't satisfying. - Raspberry filled ($2.59 USD) - filling was okay. - French crueller ($2.29 USD) - light and airy. Stopped here after a hike for coffee. Didn't end up getting g coffee - it didnt look like their specialty. Did however, but 5 donuts; Bismarck crème filled, blueberry glazed, old fashioned, raspberry lemon turnover, maple glazed pinwheel. We love Lafeens and stop in every time we're in Bellingham for at least one donut as we're driving past on the way to Lake Whatcom. Our favorites are the Maple Bigfoots, but the apple fritters are pretty good as well. There's usually something there that will satisfy the sweet donut cravings of everyone in the family. A definite repeat, just for their great value and chocolate milkshake alone: $3.50! think it's a 12 ounce. Nice girl allowed me to sample taste a few flavours, the fudgy wudgy wins it, almost like a malt flavour to it. Staff here was very friendly and helpful. I was craving ice cream so thought we'd give it a try. Ice cream was subpar. It's Cascade Farm ice cream. How can you mess up chocolate ice cream? It had absolutely no flavor and tasted old. Apple fritter donut delicious! Maybe the best I've had. Lots of apples and cinnamon. Very sweet people here from our experience. We came in on a quiet weeknight. It's a small, quaint place with a decent selection! They have Cascade Farm ice cream. Which is what we came there for. We didn't get any donuts although they looked pretty good! We had the pistachio almond ice cream (so-so), caramel caribou (good!) And the birthday cake, which tasted fantastic but was partly icy. The price of all 3 ice creams (2 were cones) and a London fog latte was only around 10 dollars! What a great price. The scoops were pretty small I will admit. But it was enough for me. The girl there was really sweet. To my surprise she hadn't heard of a London Fog Latte so I walked her through the steps. They use Farmer Brothers tea (and their coffee I think). It was pretty good but I think there might not have been enough vanilla syrup. And there was quite a bit of foam. But I don't want to complain too much, I would definitely give this place another shot. Nothing to write home about but the service made my visit very pleasant - and the price! read more

Hole in the wall donut places. Usually these places have the best donuts, but not this one. First of all, the variety here isn't the best, but they do have all the standards. I didn't really expect a huge variety. Secondly, the donuts are very irregular. Now, this can be a good thing as it indicates hand-made. However, they aren't only irregularly shaped, they were clearly kind of small and flat too. As soon as I saw them, I just knew these were likely not going to be too good. The donuts definitely had not risen enough (the yeast donuts that is). We also bought a pumpkin cake donut. The flavor was decent with lots of spice, but it was way too sweet and dense for my liking. I tried (yet again) a cruller, but again it didn't meet my expectations. All of the crullers I have had up here have tasted similar, but different than the ones I've had in California. I wonder if it is a regional difference? Too greasy for my tastes. read more

Granted, we were told our timing was good--which was very late Saturday evening and we were eating Sunday morning's donuts as fresh as could be. Our kids loved the ice cream too.
