I'm giving a 5/5 because each time I've gone; everything has been really great. Even when they first opened, I really enjoyed my meal here. Parking is AWESOME. It does get busy/slammed since other shops are around but there are PLENTY of parking spots + parking deck! I love it. My mood tends to turn sour if a restaurant has horrible parking. Space - Very cute bar area, great indoor AND outdoor seating. It definitely feels nice to sit outside on a gorgeous/good weather day. But it's also nice to be near an AC when the weather is way too hot. Service is GREAT! I've gone I think... 4-5x now randomly since they've opened and their staff members are solid. Even during a pandemic like now, they've been really on their A Game and making sure they follow procedures and let customers feel at ease. Food: So I'm not a seafood person, haha. I've had around 2-3 items here only. Same thing usually and it's super delicious. If you're like me taste bud wise, get the roasted chicken thighs entree (I forgot official plate name). My wife and I ate at the bar at Lagarde a few months ago. Before COVID. We didn't make a reservation as we had no idea how popular Lagarde had gotten in a pretty short amount of time. The place was packed and there was an hour wait. The host was very polite. We decided to scope the bar for someone leaving soon, and our effort paid off. We got a spot at the corner. The bartender was very attentive. He made our drinks right away. I ordered the shrimp po-boy and it was super delicious. The bread wasn't as good as the real thing in New Orleans, but overall I would rate the sandwich an A. I don't recall what my wife got, but it was good enough for her to state that we would prioritize heading back. Hopefully Lagarde survives the new world we live in. I've driven by recently and it appears fairly busy, as busy as they can be, so happy to see that. We will plan to visit again soon! read more

My fiancé and I have been going to Lagarde for 2.5 years now and really what's kept us coming back is the amazing service we've received from Hana Daniel. We request her every time we go and she's been nothing short of fantastic. It's gotten to the point where we will have drinks on our table by the time we arrive as well as a bowl full of water for our pup. Don't get me wrong the food and drinks are very good (especially their brunch offerings and their espresso martinis) but we come back because the service has been extraordinary. Ok, this place is going to kill it! The right concept, in the right location, with the right menu, in an awesome dining room. We went super early thinking we'd be to first table sat, the dining room was three quarters full with one seat open at the bar 20 mins after open. We started with the deviled egged, excellent, then moved to the grilled oysters, the daube, then split the shrimp po boy which was the star of the show. We used to live walking distance to Lagarde and it is such a fun date night spot or place to get dinner and drinks with friends. The atmosphere is always fun, the menu has a lot of unique options that you can't really get anywhere else nearby, and the drinks are great too. Every time I have gone, the specials have been great too! One time we got a cajun shrimp pasta and it was delicious. The patio is really nice and dog friendly as well. My absolute favorite thing to get here is the red bean totchos, you cannot go wrong with them and like I said early, you can't get something like that anywhere else! We don't live walking distance anymore but we still make the drive back because it really is a fun atmosphere, affordable, and great food. It is also fun to bring the dog and sit on the patio and then go for a walk on the walking trail and to Keswick park! read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but after a couple of debates we decided to pop in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the Leo hamburger and wow. there are no words. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's over hundreds of options available between the menu board, not to mention the specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. We were immediately greeted by Cole. He was pleasant and helpful with my inquiries. We arrived during brunch hours so that we may enjoy the delicious bottomless mojitos. The view is amazing. Nice size patio that I assume will be for outdoor seating in the future. Our initial seating arrangements were disrupted by a woman whom was seated next to me with perfume that actually was a little much for me to bear and made me nauseous. I brought it to the attention to the server and we were moved. Otherwise we would have had to leave. After Cole moved us he made suggestions from the menu and Maurice, our server, took over and kept the refreshing bottomless mimosas coming. The he ambiance was great. The undertone of music was good and the tables were constantly turning. We ordered a shrimp pivot and barbecue shrimp. Both were delicious. I came with the intention on steak and eggs as it's an American cuisine with a New Orleans twist but that was not an option. The only issue besides no steak was the abundance of pork in dishes. I would like to have an option of chicken sausage or turkey bacon or something. I would have opted for a chicken breast since they do offer a friend chicken sandwich. When we asked our server Maurice he returned to inform us that there were no options besides pork. With that being said if you are not a pork eater the options are limited. I always try to order a dish the way the chef prepares it but so many dishes had pork so I had to ask for alternatives and there were none. The shrimp dishes that were ordered were great and worth returning for. I am looking forward to returning and trying the oyster dishes. read more

Went last weekend with some friends and had great (albeit very strong) drinks. Raw oysters were good but I definitely wish they had a bigger selection. Dessert was a disaster as I ordered the cream dish and didn't see the waitress again for 20 minutes when I caught her running by. They really need to step it up. Came here last week and was SO disappointed. The food was nothing special at all... no seasoning, hardly any creole taste at all. I ordered a side of "baked" broccoli and gumbo. My friend had the shrimp poboy and it was all seriously lacking. I am so disappointed because they in the past have had decent food. Since reopening after COVID however service was agonizingly slow and the food was not something I would ever pay for again unless they show they care at all and do something about it. I love this places atmosphere and want so badly for them to get better. Please please put more attention into your menu and food... I know it's "bar food" but it's seriously lacking in flavor and diversity. As a New Orleans/ creole theme restaurant I can't believe they have such a limited menu with so few New Orleans style dishes as well as zero flavor to the food. Pretty cool little joint located in the Chamblee/Brookhaven area. The place is new and looks like it has some potential with a decent bar and what looks to be a patio that overlooks the softball fields (when a little warmer). For food, we order fried okra with spicy sauce, hush puppies, a shrimp po-boy and the fish of the day, which was blackened catfish. Overall the food was really good. I enjoyed the PO-boy and the blackened fish. The okra was really good but the sauce was not spicy. My one complaint would be the servers kept telling us that all dishes were shareable. I watched another server explain the po-boy to a customer and how he indicated, I would have thought the sandwich was 10 inches long. Mine was 5-6 inches so a regular Po-boy, which I would not consider a shareable dish! The catfish was a medium size piece on a dish with no sides. Not sure I consider that shareable either. Maybe I just don't understand shareable but I would consider them more like tapas. read more

Portions are really decent for the price. I wasn't expecting to get as much as I did. He got the big green egg ribs. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and smoky. I had the shoyster po-boy and I was really happy with the amount of oysters and shrimp. The bread was a little hard, but I didn't order it for the bread! And if you like fried okra, definitely get their fried okra. Service was attentive even though it was really busy on a Thursday night, and drinks came out immediately. Patio is a good size, overlooks the baseball field and peachtree industrial. It's also dog-friendly, as I saw a little dog the night we went. It can be pretty noisy at night, parking isn't great, but that's the worst of it. Nice to see Chamblee getting more spots like this to go to. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was pretty cozy and relaxing. I had hanger steak and jambalaya, and beignet for dessert. I've watched the construction since it started, it seems, and decided to finally pop in for brunch yesterday before running errands. The highlight of our meal was our server who was friendly and knew the menu well. The rest of the meal was sadly forgettable,.and the fact we were starving two hours later for the price we paid was disappointing. We both got the shrimp and grits and as a native Charlestonian I like to think I know a good shrimp and grits when I see them and these were solidly three star quality - the grits were creamy, but there was so much gravy/sauce that I couldn't really taste the shrimp or the tasso ham to gauge of it was fresh or worth coming back. The coffee was decent thoughy partner was surprised there wasn't an option for chicory coffee since they are playing up the creole/New Orleans vibe. All in all, not a bad place, but not taking the effort to come back if it's out of the way. Seems like they put more effort into the looks than the substance, and hopefully over time they'll grow into a place I'll drive (almost) OTP to return to try. read more

I did really love the salmon stir fry. Very good, cooked perfectly, great flavor. The rest was not good. The server was average, dismissive at times. Very slow with drink refills. My friend ordered a shrimp poboy with tots. The bread on the sandwich was soaking, soggy, and she had to ask for a fork. The tots were that of a microwaveable bag. My other friend ordered gumbo and hushpuppies. The hushpuppies were good, a bread battered ball. But crunchy and tasty. The gumbo was not good. It was watery. Very flavorless.
