I absolutely needed to participate in one of my favorite holidays - National Oyster Day!! What better way to do it than to go to Lagarde for their oyster week. This is my first time trying them but their oyster deal was too good to pass up and the reviews looked good. We booked a reservation in advance and I'm glad we did because the restaurant was packed! We were seated very promptly and our server was Sara. She was attentive and very kind. They had multiple tvs if you wanted to catch any games or news on. They had music playing and the atmosphere was very lively. I ordered as many oysters as I possibly could (both raw and chargrilled) and they were delicious! We also ordered the oxtail gumbo which surprised me, it was pretty good! I took away a star only because there were a couple of orders sent to our table or others by accident. I'm sure it was just the busyness of the day but we also ended up with someone else's food on our check (always ask for an itemized receipt!!). Sara was very quick to resolve it, so we're thankful. Last thing - there was a pestering fly flying around the whole time we were seated. I know that's hard to control but boy was it annoying while you're trying to enjoy your meal. We experienced brunch on a Saturday morning. Lagarde is located in a cute shopping center near a park and trails. Pros: ample parking, and they take reservations. We ordered a shrimp po'boy, a burger, oysters rockfeller and the kids shared fried okra and gumbo. Of all the things we ordered, I think we liked the gumbo the most. Food was overall ok, service was ok. I wonder if we should have ordered other things that would have been more special to truly experience what Lagarde is all about. I've been eyeing this restaurant for the longest time and finally got the chance to try it last week. The ambience is amazing. It was a full house today because of their awesome oyster week special. Everything tasted sooooo good! My favorite thing was obviously the oysters but the drunken mussels were a show stopper too. Special shout out to my server Aime and the manager Lexi who made our dining experience so special and took really great care of us. I stopped by on a whim for an early dinner. The ambiance was okay. We came around 8PM, an hour before closing, so the restaurant was fairly quiet. I'm usually wary of ordering oysters during the hotter months, but the recent photos online looked promising, so I decided to order a dozen: half raw and half chargrilled. They were good! However, a couple of the raw oysters were barely a bite, so for the price, I'd definitely choose more grilled oysters--they offered better value in both taste and size. For our entrees, I ordered the LaGarde Smash Burger with Cajun fries, and my boyfriend had the Shrimp PoBoy with Cajun tots. The burger and PoBoy were just okay, but the sides were disappointing. The tots were essentially balls of grease. I know fried food is naturally greasy, but these tasted like straight oil with very little potato left inside, so they may have been overcooked. Of the two, the fries were on the better side. The service, however, was excellent. Everything came out quickly, and our server was friendly and attentive. Came here with a friend on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy so we sat right away on their patio. My friend ordered the Cajun pasta and she enjoyed it. She said it it was well seasoned. I ordered oysters and ahi tuna nachos since I was not as hungry. The nachos were an appetizer and I was not expecting them to be filling. They came as 5 nachos with aioli. The raw were medium size and I'm glad I chose them rather than the smaller ones. I'm not sure I love the oyster price (that's with knowing that oysters are usually not cheap). Favorite restaurant in the area. Always has been and hopefully always will be. That being said, the prices have unfortunately gone up significantly for all of the menu items. We were seated in the enclosed, outside area which was kind of a buzzkill because the inside seemed lively and those vibes were nonexistent in the quiet outside area. Our visit started off well. Our server Morgan was pleasant, and the brunch menu seemed to offer something for everyone. A good start went downhill quickly when one of our plates came out with hair in the butter. Our server apologized and took it back to the kitchen for it to be remade, which was fine. The bigger problem was that we weren't offered any type of compensation (a percentage off the entree that had hair, comped beverages, something). This place was really nice and casual! They had outdoor dining and the doors open. Our sever was very nice and professional. Our food was brought out piping hot and delicious. I ordered the Salmon BLT with the Cajun tots and the Summer in Chamblee cocktail. Oh and the deviled eggs and Thai Fried as appetizers. The cocktail was incredibly refreshing and perfect for a warm afternoon! I didn't get andouille on the deviled eggs which I later regretted because I felt like they needed a little crunch. Came here for my cousins birthday with a party of 8. My husband and I split the chicken wings and I got the chicken biscuit for my entree. Both were very tasty but something seems to have changed with the wings once last time we got them. Can't really tasty that it was grilled. I started with oysters first and I felt like they did not taste as fresh as I usually would have them. They were still good though. when it came to the chicken and French toast, the French toast was amazing. I love French toast honestly and the chicken on top was good too, but the pickled peppers did not taste good on top of all of it. Therent weren't many vevegetarian options so settled for a salad and fruits were very tart and did not go well with the orange dressing making it unedible. Omg is this place under new management?? Because what our incident maybe be because of an off day but I feel so let down by a few people. First off I walk-in (1:27pm) and since it's a nice day, I ask to sit outside. I'm with my mother who uses a cane too. Well the only table was directly in the sun and I thought I was okay with it until it came full force and I was on fire. So, I went to the hostess desk to ask for another table and to inform them that a party was leaving and we'd like to move. She tells me to take it up with my server. Okay fine. After that we waited another 15 mins or so, then after they left I informed our waiter that they moved. We waited probably another 25 or so mins and were moved instead to an inside table and not the one we asked to move to. I guess so he didn't have to deal with us. I felt the service and blatant disregard for customers could be felt from everyone who saw me and my elderly mother sitting in the sun burning up for 40+mins. We were then moved inside where the new waitress who then (had to feel the brunt of the situation) took us. The only thing that made this experience better is because the woman server who took us noticed we were just sitting outside being ignored and she apologized on behalf of our dumb guy server with stupid dangly earring. I'm wondering was there no manager on duty either?? Because how did you not notice people just sitting with no food or drinks for so long?? I'm so embarrassed, I was hyping this place up. Also let me add, that the buser kept coming outside looking at the dirty table going back inside, I was confused if he was the actual buser. HOWEVER, once we were moved inside he bused every single table and picked up every little speck of trash wth???Anyway, over an hour after being here we got to order and some time after we got our food. We both ordered the pear salad (mom loved it), the salmon bites, and the Thai shrimp, both appetizers have shrunk in portion size since I got them last. I met a few girlfriends here for a birthday dinner. It was easy to make a reservation online on resy. I was lucky with parking, but there's also a lot where you can find parking. We were sat down when we arrived and they have a special menu and a regular menu. We got a sangria which was delicious and the gin drink I got was had a weird herby or anise taste and I just got a regular gin tonic which was fine. I enjoyed the wedge salad that we shared. The bacon was crunchy and blue cheese was not over powering. My girlfriends got a smashburger and also the chicken burger and both were tasty and I enjoyed the pan seared trout I got. They brought us the donut for desert with happy birthday written and the donut were bouncy and sweet. Overall, the meal was good. However, the booth I was sitting at kept getting bumped and moved the entire meal which was annoying. I paid with the QR code on the table which charges you $2.99. And the desert was not complimentary for a birthday and I wish they would have given us a choice. It was a nice place to try and we did have a nice time. YUM! I made a reservation for me and five friends for a Friday night around 6:45 for the dining room. I'm not from the area but saw some good reviews and wanted some good southern food while in GA. I'm so glad I found this place. When you first walk in, you immediately notice the neat painting on the wall with the bright colors and the beautiful light fixtures. It's also right next to a baseball field with some walking paths and beautiful trees so it's so lush and green and gorgeous. We ordered and were hopeful about the food. When things started coming out, we were so impressed by the size and quality of each dish. A lot of us are very foodie-minded and not only was each dish delicious, it was also plated so attractively. One person ordered the airline chicken and said it was one of the best chicken dishes ever. Another had the jambalaya and loved it. Two others had the steak and frites. I tried a bite of the steak and it was absolutely perfect and tender and flavored so well. My friend and I had the catfish po boy special sandwich. While I didn't need the fries, the catfish was some of the yummiest I've ever had and was so crunchy while also flakey and had a combination of flavors. Three of us also ordered oysters because...why not...when in Rome, right? I have had many oysters before since I've lived by the ocean my whole life and these were not only good but they were HUGE. I've honestly never seen them so big. But they were good. And it wasn't even oyster night where they are $1 each but they were like $2.75-3.50 each which was still great cost and since they were so big it felt like an even bigger deal. Our meal was expensive overall. And my only complaint would be that even though we were a party of six, they automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill. Usually it's parties of 8...and usually it's 18%...and they even asked if we wanted to add an additional tip. Our service wasn't amazing but it was adequate and it'll do. So I just paid the bill and will still look back at the experience and remember it fondly. I ordered another one because I miss drinking Kool Aid lol. Naw it was horrible, my shrimp po boy was horrible and the bread was hard. Like stale hard. The other guest ordered one too and same results that's why I knew I wasn't crazy. One guest ordered fried okra that was on the menu and they informed him they don't have anymore. After reading several reviews, I was optimistic about selecting LaGarde as the location to celebrate a friend's B-Day. We decided to do brunch, and sat on the patio that overlooked a trail reminiscent of the beltline. The interior and exterior decor was well appointed, with a vibrant bar, the interior dining from the covered patio. Beyond that I noticed additional seating outside that wasn't covered near a Green Egg smoker. Our server Hannah promptly greeted us and took our drink orders while allowing time to review the menu and ask questions. In addition to the brunch menu, there was also specials listed to allow for many delicious sounding options. The B-day lady ordered a veggie omelette which allowed for customization of ingredients. I ordered the jambalaya which came with Sunnyside up eggs. As that was not my preference, I specifically asked for egg whites only. Prosecco and coffee were our beverages of choice. The food wait time was average for the number of people in the restaurant and the accommodation of our preferences. Unfortunately, my eggs were not cooked to specification; one was the advertised sunny side up and the other appeared to be fried. The jambalaya lacked the Cajun flavor accustomed to receiving in NOLA and a few other metro Atlanta restaurants. The manager discounted my meal with an apology for the egg debacle. The omelette was tasty and my friend enjoyed the fans installed on patio to keep the air circulating. I truly enjoyed the location and the decor per attached pictures. Location had ample parking and several other shops. Did not care for the order mixup or the wait staff throwing drinks that people left on the table into the area situated just beyond our tables.
