Flourless chocolate cake topped celebrate our birthday
    Joy S.

My family and I enjoyed a birthday dinner at Terra Terroir. They are located in an unassuming shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. We had made a reservation on open table to secure a seat on the patio. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host and shown to our table. The smells from the open kitchen filled the air and our stomachs were happily growling. We let our server know we were celebrating a couple of birthdays and she let us know that Mondays are half price wine bottles $50 or less. She made a great recommendation and brought our bottle to the table. The patio was so warm and cozy with fire places roaring, decorated heat lamps, flowers on all the tables and growing plants and a water feature. We ordered the Terra burger and lamb chops and it was all really good. We needed to go boxes because the portions were so big. Finally, we shared the flourless chocolate cake topped with berries for dessert. It was a lovely way to celebrate our birthday.

What a pleasant surprise to find this place! I love the plants! You must sit in the back. I've passed this place a thousand times and would have never expected a greenhouse in the back. We split the spinach and feta salad and it was very good, still a good portion when split. I had the short ravioli in vodka sauce- sooo yummy! But I was still hungry after. My guest had the slow braised duroc pork shank. It was a very large portion with polenta and Brussels. Service was attentive and accommodating to celiac/gluten free.

I came here for dinner and it was a pleasant surprise. This place has a very nice decor. It feels like Italy. The building has three sections: main inside, bar, and outside patio. The main inside has plenty of booths and tables. The bar is at the entrance. The outside patio has a cover for the weather. The bar is inside and nice with limited seating. The staff is friendly but the place was packed and slowed down service a bit. I ordered the slow roasted pork shank, sake martini, Rye redemption, and dessert pizza. The cocktails tasted great. The Rye Redemption is pretty much a Manhattan with a splash of bitters. The sake martini has a Japanese fruit puree in it which makes it sweet and balanced. The pork shank comes with fried Brussel sprouts and grits. The Brussel sprouts and grits are amazing and made this dish worth it. The pork shank was a little tougher than I expected and it was a low temperature. The dessert pizza or apple pizza is a fried tortilla with cinnamon sugar as a base. Then it is piled on with cinnamon apples, blue berries, crumbles, and mint leaves. The dish came cold but they took it back and warmed it up. They also put a bit of vanilla ice cream on top. It tasted great the second time.

One of our go to restaurants in Brookhaven. Great wine selection and food. Food is much better than in prior years! New items on the menu which are great!

A botched experience for a once in a lifetime event! I was really looking forward to hosting my daughter's college graduation dinner at a special venue with great food and ambiance. I was recommended this place and looking at the pictures and menu, it seemed perfect! The meeting planner, Helena, was very knowledgeable and helpful with pulling the details together to make the day special. From helping pick out the menu, to little things like the special menu printed during congratulations and specialty drink she'd have the bartender make with her school colors. I was excited! I arrived 20 min before the reservation to speak to the bartender about the wines and specialty drink and went to the event location. It looked great, but was chilly. They had a huge fireplace and several wall heaters to keep the area warm and cozy for guests, but that was the biggest problem. The fireplace kept going out and it resulting in a freezing location that had my guests shivering. I kept hearing "This has never happened before" but it didn't help the situation and fact that it was so cold with no other heaters to bring to help. There was also a hole in the floor where I guess something was removed, however it was the only way to get to the table for guests. As a result, several people (including me) kept tripping on the nails sticking up and almost falling on the brick floor. Not good! It took forever for my guests to be able to order from the selected menu, because apparently they never printed it and then couldn't get their printer to work to actually get it printed out. So we never got them and our phenomenal waiter, Malik, had to yell out the menu to the guests to get the food flowing. This wasn't until around 7:30 and the reservation started 6pm. On a Friday night, my guests were quite hungry. Food: The appetizers tasted great but the presentation of the Brussels Sprouts were horrible. I was brought out a huge plate of burnt looking food. Not edible looking at all. Understanding maple glaze can get charred is one thing, but bringing it out looking like a plate of burnt food is not appealing. I had to convince my guests to try it, and those who did like it enjoyed the taste, but it was being wasted. The Caesar salad presentation and taste was incredible! It was unique and actually the only pic I remembered to take of the food (see attached). The salmon entree was delicious as well as the sides, however the roasted chicken came out pale and apparently not fully cooked (several guests revealed the next day). Nothing that was described with that meal. The bread pudding was dry and not tasty at all, but the crème brûlée was very tasty. In the end: After everything, my daughter's father had to go back and forth with them to accommodate us in some way for all of the inconveniences and inconsistencies with our reservation. This was NOT a cheap event, and I would have really expected more from such a place that came highly referred. After everything, I had to go in and help them find my card info to make the final charge. The bartender had a pile of receipts and apparently none of them were mine. Of course that made me nervous that my card number is somewhere not secured. Smh. The night was not entirely ruined because of the love and family we had present, but it definitely was not up to par as I'd expected. The bottom line is the restaurant seemed ill-prepared for us to be there which resulted in lots of issues. The best part about my entire experience was working with the event planner, Helena, and the incredible service provided by our waiter, Malik! Thank you!

I found…read morethem on Yelp a week or so before and ended up making a reservation on their website the next day. I'm so glad we listened to the other reviews and gave them a visit because our entire table of four had a lovely time. We started with drinks and I settled on a glass of wine. They had the exact type of sauvignon blanc that I wanted, which was an immediate win. As a group we settled on the whipped goat cheese and brussel sprouts for appetizers. The brussel sprouts came with bacon so I steered clear, but the others raved about them. The whipped goat cheese dip was also a nice choice with the garden veggies. Super creamy and refreshing. As for my entree I went with risotto of the week with salmon. It was absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. We had a birthday in the group so we of course had to get desserts. We shared the creme brulee and this super decadent chocolate cake. Both with fresh berries, love! The creme brulee was definitely my favorite of the two, but you can't go wrong. As for the space itself, it's beautiful. It gave off a sort of a modern farmhouse vibe with the wood and brick. With the twinkle lights and earthy touches bringing it all together. Our service was also on point. Jackson was awesome (as you can see in the other reviews) and kept the good vibes flowing all night. I would definitely come here again.

The Ashford is a pretty nice place to grab either brunch, lunch, or dinner! We came around 7, so we had dinner. You can sit outside or inside, the weather was really nice, but we just wanted to sit inside in the AC. I got a glass of the bieler rose, which was recommended by our server. My wife got the lavender daydreams cocktail, which was really good! We all shared the chicken spring rolls and the burrata bruschetta. Both were really good! The chicken spring rolls were in a rice paper, and not the usual wonton paper. I don't usually like the rice paper spring rolls, but these ones weren't too bad. For our main, me and my wife got the chicken schnitzel. They even split it on two different plates for us too, which was nice of them to do. It was SO GOOD. Pretty sure I inhaled mine! We also shared the mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese was soooooo good. It was a pimento mac and cheese, and had herbed breadcrumbs. Chef's kiss! The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars, is because our food took FOREVER to come out. There were some larger parties, so I do get it, but this was like 30-45 minutes forever. Also, I can't remember which dish, but one of the dishes me and my wife got was cold, so we asked to send it back to get a warmer version, which they did. They comped this off the bill, which was nice. That didn't bother me as much as the food coming out so late. Had that not been the case, I would've given this review 5 stars! The food was really really good. We would definitely still come back in the future!

Just wish the kitchen would consistently catch that I'm lactose intolerant and need no cheese. The center can also be a bit underdone, especially when I order egg whites -- but flavor-wise, still love it. * Ham Benedict: Solid classic. * Steak & Eggs: Disappointing the one time we tried it -- especially given the price point. * The Big Nasty: Legit comfort food, but would love if it came on a biscuit instead of a soft bun (or if there was an option to swap). * Breakfast Potatoes: Extra crispy with onions -- I personally love them, but some might find them a touch too dark Drinks: * Coffee menu is limited -- just drip, cappuccino, and double espresso, with cream as the only option. * Would love to see non-dairy milk options and better coffee quality overall -- we've skipped brunch a few times because of that. We thought it would be fine because our reservation slot was for 2.5 hours, which is plenty of time. From the moment we arrived service was extremely slow. Drinks took forever to come and some were forgotten. My friend got a virgin raspberry mojito and it was so sour it was undrinkable. We had asked multiple times for one regular menu to order from and for some simple syrup for the mojito, neither of which we got. We pretty much had one server for our table of 18 people, and he was serving other tables as well. He told us at the start that another server would be helping but she was barely seen. It got to the point where my husband and I had to get up to talk to management. They were apologetic, gave us a bottle of rose, and asked how they can make it better. I told them that things need to be on time not just because we were approaching the end of our reservation but also because we had plans right after. Service was still slow and once we were finished we were still sitting and waiting for the check. We ended up being late to our other plans. Keep in mind this was our wedding day. We had just gotten married and everybody was in a great mood. We were nice and clearly communicated our needs even though service was lacking throughout the whole dinner. I write a review and then a day later they reply to my review, telling lies to try and discredit me. As if the poor service during dinner wasn't enough, their timing and dishonesty reflects their lack of respect for their customers. We spent over $2000 which included a 22% gratuity fee. Such a waste of money. You couldn't pay me to come here again. If you're looking for a restaurant for a wedding, proposal, anniversary, celebration, graduation, reunion, date, large party, or really anything, save yourself the trouble. They just might treat you the way we were treated, and then lie about it to try and make you look bad.

Holy cow - this food is amazing! My wife and I shared the pork belly, sous vide egg, the steelhead…read moretrout, the spicy black ink bucatini, and the pineapple bread pudding. Everything was outstanding, especially the egg. No wonder this is Michelin recommended! We then met chef Jared and he is amazing. The care and craft he puts in to his food makes sense hearing his stories, especially that he serves the art community with specialized food to match the art on display; what a cool concept! He even assisted us in buying a piece on display from a local artist. As yes, they have local art up on display - a great idea for a restaurant! Note for parking: use the valet. It's insane otherwise!

Really enjoyed The Alden!! Service was very kind and friendly but slow at times on a Saturday night…read morewhich was understandable. At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!
