The people of Laguna Beach are so spoiled.. and I'm not just talking about their ocean views. Laguna has one of the best dog parks I've ever visited. This spot is located in the canyon, close to the Sawdust Festival. The park is absolutely huge, filled with greenery, and split into two options: big doggos and little doggos. The big dog park is clearly where the party is at. There's enough space for everyone to roam peacefully and do their own thing. I love the many benches available to the humans and easily accessible water fountains for the pets. On holidays you'll find that they host small events here. A doggy costume contest for Halloween is my idea of a topnotch weekend plan! Parking can be a little tough considering it's located on a major highway. There's street parking available for pay by plate, first-come, first-serve. read more

This is the most irritating dog park to go to ever. They close at the slightest cloud in the sky or the littlest bit of mist in the sky that may have moistened the ground a bit too much that day. Extremely disappointing.every other dog park in south county is open when they say it's open. Also this park is closed every Wednesday the whole day. I also don't know any other dog park where you have to pay for parking. It's really ridiculous all around not worth it. Even if you're close by there are dog parks not too far from here where you don't have to deal with any of the things I mentioned above. Also, dogs are allowed on the beaches in Laguna off-season all day and during the summer season before and after a specific time so there really is no reason to go here at all. read more

This is by far our favorite dog park! For starters, it's enormous - perfect for high energy pups like mine. I love how clean and well maintained it is - there are lots of benches, poop bags / trash cans, and even wheelbarrows for shoveling dirt and covering up holes. Lots of parking, it's just metered and requires you to do a u-turn if you're going south on Laguna Canyon Road. One thing to note is that it's hard to see the entrance and inside - so you can't always tell how busy it us until you walk up. Wish I lived closer! read more

Such a nice dog park! We were just driving in the area and stumbled upon it So you do have to pay metered parking and I can imagine at peak times, it may be pretty busy/hard to park, but we went early afternoon and it was fine. There are two gated sections before you choose between the small and large dog parks. The small side seemed shadier at this time but way smaller. The large dog side was huge and had lots of beautiful green grass for pups to run on. Some shady areas on the sides for humans. This really seemed like a well maintained dog park. This place is so lush green all year round in the canyon surrounded by the raddest hills for your dog to run up and down. Mine is a billy goat when she comes here. This is a massive dog park! I took my 28 lb golden doodle there on a Sunday morning around 8 ish and it was awesome! The big dog side said 35 lbs and above but no one was in the small dog side so off we went. I'd ballpark to say there were about ~35 dogs there but the place was so spacious that everyone easily could stand 6 feet apart and do their own thing. I live about 20 minutes away so this won't be our daily park for 1) distance and 2) you have to pay for parking but I will definitely come back on a weekend when I have more time to watch my dog run around what feels like a football field haha read more

This is a nice green grassy dog park that's about the size of a football field for the large dogs. The "small dog" section is separate and has a nice lawn too but it's much smaller (it's for dogs under 35 pounds). There's plenty of benches, poo-poo bags, tennis balls, and there's even a portable potty for humans too. My dog loves grassy lawns and she just runs around like a maniac. Most dogs are well-behaved and most owners pick up the poop but there's still poop around. So watch your step. We had a fun group today of doodles, a Portuguese Water Dog, German short-haired pointer, a Old English sheepdog, Australian shepherds, and more. Street parking was almost full and you have to pay to park, but my dog really, really loved it and was completely exhausted when we left. read more

This has easily become my favorite dog park in Orange County. I only wish that it could be closer to my place! :) There is lots of grass, trees, and space! My pups LOVE running around with other dogs here. Followed by a little relaxing in the shade under a tree. I also appreciate that this is the only dog park I've seen that has a portable toilet inside. It's great you don't have to leave the dog park to use the restroom. This is perfect if you come to the park alone, and don't have someone to keep an eye on your pups while you run off to use the restroom. We love coming to this dog park the most out of the Orange County dog parks we've been to. read more

Great park to check out with your pup. Small and large dog sections. Both are pretty much all grass with the large dog area lined by the hillside and a fence on top, so if your dog's a climber, better watch out, since they can get pretty far up :P Plenty of trees along the perimeter with benches to give you a shaded spot to watch your pup. There's a water fountain with a drain, so no standing water, which I definitely prefer, helps keep it somewhat sanitary. The area is actually pretty well-maintained, didn't run into any poopy surprises while there. Closed on Wednesdays. Closes otherwise at dusk. Downside is only metered street parking, which is pretty inconvenient, especially when the park is bumping. read more

Pretty great dog park for our two pups, Kobe and Bear! They have a small area for small dogs (which we hung out during our first visit), and a huge area for big dogs (which we checked out for a little bit during our second visit). Everyone there is so nice and the dogs are so cute and active. The park itself is way cleaner than the Irvine dog park. Street metered parking only (free before 8am!). There's water fountains and doggy bags provided too. read more

Best Dog Park in OC hands down! My dog Teddy loves this park so much. We truly enjoy coming to this park because it's so big and Teddy loves to play and run around. Talk about well-maintained grass, it's super green and has lovely trees. Also, I love to see how everyone is super friendly and we're all there for our fur babies. Big open grass area that offers plenty of space to run and play. We have found this dog park clean and well maintained and definitely one of the biggest we have been to. Dog owners overall have been respectful here and while we have seen a few aggressive dogs here it's been less than at some other dog parks. Best time to go is weekdays when there are less digs in the park. We do avoid the hill area of the park as there have been rattlesnake sightings there. The park is located along 133 and can be a little tricky to find the first time. Look for dog park sign. Park alongside street (parking meters). read more

So much green! This is easily my favorite dog park in Orange County, the park is huge and completely covered in beautiful, green grass. No more dusty muddy pups in the car! Tons of doggy bags to use and a drinking fountain for the humans and the doggos. Some benches and seats (they even have umbrellas!) are placed throughout the park. The only downside is that there isn't a parking lot, and you'll have to bust a U turn coming down the 133-S and find street parking. Meters are enforced! read more

I love this place - and so does my dog. We bring the little dude here about once every week or so and he always has a blast. He's small - so I appreciate there is a small dog park next to the big dog park. This is the most spacious dog park I've ever see, BTW. It's HUGE! There are always quite a few dogs here - though there aren't ever as many on the small dog side. There are several benches throughout the grassy areas and the small dog side has a couple of nice shady spots. The only bummers: it's closed on Wednesdays and you have to pay to park at the meters along Laguna Canyon. Still... a great place for dogs, big and small. Super-fun! read more

The first and last time I brought my small dog to this park some idiot had not properly locked the adjoining gate to the bigger dog park....and so my dog was able to escape to the big dog park which frightened the life out of me, but whats worse is that he managed to find a space in the chain link fence to get out of that park and up to the side of the hill and ran far away. I didnt expect to see him again, but after a long while he came back down. Needless to say I will never bring him to this park again. People should be more responsible about properly closing adjoining gates - it only takes seconds, for crying out loud. read more

This park is awesome. We visited today for the first time and it was a great experience. Our pup is newly adopted and she is a bit timid and pretty short. We took her in the small dog section and she had a great time and she got to meet some new friends. We later took her in the large dog section and stayed with her, that was great too. My boyfriend and I have been bringing our Frenchie here for the past few months and it is, by far, the best dog park in the OC. There are two sections: small dog and big dog sections. However, the big dog section is large enough for everyone and it seems as though the small dog section never gets any use. The park is 100% grass and the large hill that the park backs up against is fenced off and the bigger dogs can climb up and do some "adventuring". I've only stepped in poop once (still annoying) but overall, it's a great place to visit with your fur baby. read more

This is probably the nicest dog park I've ever been to, and the largest. It's very "wildernessy" but is still fenced in, and safe. (Although there are rattlesnake warnings). Its HUGE (2 acres) and one of the few dog parks to actually have real grass, and a whole field of it. The people (and dogs) we met there were very nice. Amazing dog park! My fiancée and I brought our dog there at 3 months old and kept bringing her for months! The people there are very friendly and we have made many friends there. It almost feels like a second home. Very open, and very large. This park is my most favorite place to take my dog. She gets super tired and gets to meet all her dog and people friends! My dog has an easy life. She gets fed, walked, and bathed all on my dime. She even gets trips to the park where she can run around unleashed. After frequenting Irvine's Central Bark Park the last few months, I have to say that the Laguna Beach Dog Park is a nice breath of fresh air. The small dog area is really small compared to the large dog area. There's not a lot of seating for owners and the water fountain doesn't really work on the small dog side, so minus a star for that. Since Suki got bored on the smalls side, we ventured into the large dog area. Suki, at 16lbs, is considered medium size. She enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes. The large dog area fit her better since there were smaller dogs than her in there as well. She got to run the entire length of the field and still chased some spaniels for fun. She marked a few choice areas and ran around some more. She was tired after getting home and napped the rest of the evening. Parking is metered along Laguna Canyon (133). It's $0.25 for every 15 minutes and parking after 7 pm is free. The park is open everyday, with the exception of Wednesdays, until dusk. The Dog Park sign isn't particularly huge but visible from the street. The park is located right before the nursery after the kennel. read more

This is by far my favorite dog park out of all the ones I've been to so far. The first time I was here, the address on Yelp led me wayyyy further on the 133 than I had to go and I got pretty lost. But after finding the place, there's no other dog park I would go to! There's a small dog and large dog side, but the small dog side is never used by anyone. I have a 10-lb maltese/jack russell and she does perfectly fine in the big dog park. I always go on weekend mornings and there are always a tonnnnn of different types of dogs. Both the dogs and their owners are super friendly. Not only is the park itself HUGE, but it's also located on the side of a huge hill that dogs (and people) can climb. One of the best/better dog parks in the OC. The large dog section is enormous, bigger than a football field & the grass is in really good shape. No dead spots or dirt patches throughout. Plenty of benches on the edges with shade & there's a steep hill on the side of the park you can run up on if you dare, but there's a no trespassing sign so don't get caught. The dogs here seem pretty chill & obedient to their owners. I was there for about 2 hours & I didn't see any scuffles or incidents. Our dogs Penguin, Tango, & Homer love this place. Ok, I don't know about Homer because I believe that he is a cat trapped in a dog's body. The park is huge, well-kept, and stocked with poop bags. There's a little dog area like there should be at all parks. I just like that there is lots of room for the dogs to go full sprint as well as the fact that there is natural grass, not a giant bed of moisture and stench-trapping astro turf. I recently found this dog park a month or two again and it's by far the best dog park I've been to - EVER! I take my husky/malamute here every day whenever I'm back in the OC. There's about an acre of clean grass for the big dogs to play in. All the owners are usually good about cleaning up after their dogs. This place is pretty secluded on the side of the road and I missed it the first time I tried to find it. I'd give this dog park 10+ stars if I could!! read more

Took my pup man here today and had a great time! The park has two separate areas- little guys and big guys. My little man is only 12 pounds so we headed to the small section. I think it's a pretty good size, definitely long enough to get a full sprint going. For the humans there are plenty of benches, in the sun and in the shade, aka plenty of space to sit and watch your pup run around with that adorable, tongue-hanging-out-sideways excited face...you know the look. Plenty of nice people and cute dogs. Haven't had a problem with people not picking up poop but obvi that depends on the individual. I can see how annoying/rude pet owners could easily ruin a trip to the dog park. As other reviewers say, there's only metered parking out front which blows. Meters are $1.25 an hour, blehhhh...but they do take credit cards in a pinch. Seeing my dog this happy is worth the 20 minute drive for us :) read more

Beautiful dog park! They have lots of grassy land, and some shade. Overall, the dogs and their people were very friendly ;) We enjoyed walking around, and our dog Spock loved exploring. What makes the dog park unique is that it's situated close to the beach inside a small canyon, so you're more likely to feel a cool breeze on a sunny day. It's also nice that it's surrounded by protected wild reserve of lush vegetation, which is why I think Spock loved exploring. Most parking is metered along the 133 hwy, but I think you may be able find a spot in the nursery parking lot. It's also planned so that you enter through one gated space before you enter the actual park so that dogs are discouraged from running out. There are designated areas for small and big dogs, but our little Spock loves playing with the big dogs so it's up to preference. I don't know what compelled me to wear sandals...that was dumb of me! So just be wary where you step like in any dog park. Walking along we did find some poop here and there, but the park wasn't extraordinarily disgusting.
