Stopped into Lahori Chili because we were craving some spice. This location seems small but it's packed with delicious Pakistani Halal food. Take out or dine in, the choice is yours. We started with samosas, two types; vegetable and chicken. These savory pastries were packed with well season veggies and chicken. The crust was light, flaky and perfectly crispy. The Lamb shanks was so tender, the meat fell of the bone. The spinach and paneer, a homemade cheese, paired well with the shank and vegetable fried rice. This spicy concoction cut through the heaviness of the meat dishes like a butter knife. The combination of flavors complimented each other and balanced the meal perfectly. The chai tea is a must. The original, smells and tastes like warm caramel. The "Kashmir chai" is an acquired taste. Less flavor intense than the regular chai but the pretty pink color adorned with shaved pistachio was a hit for the kids. If you still have room, carrot pudding, basil seed sherbet, assorted fudge and sweets are at your fingertips. Prices are reasonable, won't break the bank. I come here with deep guilt and shame because it is unfathomable to me how I have still not written about my every day go to place off the bustling Coney Island Avenue. A true institution in Little Pakistan, Lahori Chilli is an iconic restaurant nestled in the very busy row of neighborhood staples off of Foster Ave. This is a no-frills place serving up every day Pakistani cuisine in a Homey setting. There are booths for your comfort or an adjacent dining hall if you're here with family. They have some hot items almost every day that you can choose from, visible through the greasy glass of the display case. The sweets here are very very good, I particularly enjoy their falooda. Recently also sampled their gulab jamun, and they were to die for. Another dish they are super well known for is their battered masala fish fillet. This is something you have to dine in for to truly appreciate. It comes piping hot, crispy, and with just the perfect amount of masala dusting on top. A true culinary gem if you ask me. It has no bones and the crispy batter is the lightly crunchy without being super oily or greasy like a lot of other fried fish. The fish inside is moist, has no smell and is flaky. It is absolute perfection. Other things I absolutely love on their menu are their chicken seekh kababs and their kofta curry. Those two are usually my go to when I'm ordering food to go or delivery. I do want to give some feedback on a few things though. First of all, it's a little annoying that all the meat dishes are chicken only like I would like to see beef or lamb chapli kabab and seekh kabab. Why is the keema aloo chicken only? I wanna see lamb keema and beef keema on the menu. I also have noticed with some of the items that are in the buffet, they can have that smell sometimes that tells you that the food has been sitting out and not kept at the recommended temperature. A lot of food I order from the glass case goes bad the next day. I need the owner to implement better food safety. We also need more cleanliness around the dining area and spruce up the entrance a bit so people who are not local and privvy to desi food can have a clean and quality hole in the wall dining experience. I know this is a cliche at this point but this place deserves more than 5 stars. We ordered a ton of food: butter chicken, chaat, biryani, palak paneer, lots of naan, and curry chicken. They even brought out a mild version of the chaat considering we had a toddler with us! The portions were plenty generous and prices you just cant beat. They were out of a few things but that seems to be a testament to their popularity. Everything also came out super fast. By the end of our meal, they gave us these little pudding cups on the house! Ordered a chicken biryani, halwa puri, garlic naan, 4 chicken shish kebab and 2 samosas. I didn't expect that much food but it was definitely enough to feed 3-4 people. Everything was really good except for the samosas. They were very plain and lacked taste. I buy food from here often and typically enjoy it, however, the last time I purchased butter chicken - it was spoiled. Today was the Pakistani Mela 2023 and they had guys grilling tandoori chicken/kebabs/chapli kebabs to make $20 platters. - I ordered and the guy proceeded to serve 10 other men standing up behind me, before me, and this is after I said I'd like a platter to go. I told the grill guy I've been waiting here for like 10mins.. - it was thrown into a bag in a rush. - the $20 platter consisted of 2 triangles of naan, one kebab, one chapli kebab and 3 small pieces of tandoori chicken. They didn't make the platter the way they were serving the men nor was what I received worth $20 if I had gone into their store to buy everything separately. Extremely disappointing and I'd hate to think that they chose to give me a half filled platter because I was not Pakistani nor a man. Weird bcuz I literally saw him putting 2 kebabs, multiple slices of naan, at least 5 pieces of chicken and other stuff like sauces for the men they were serving. - they also allowed some older Pakistani lady to touch all the pieces of some fried thing on the grill with her bare hands... that's nasty. read more

This was borderline satisfactory meal. The goat was yummy but scant. The lentils were strong and flavorful but one note. The naan while soft and large- seemed to be dabbed in garlic only on one end. The chicken kebab was ok. The yogurt was loose, the samosas just completely potatoey and pakora an oily blob. We ordered a good amount but did not look forward to our leftovers. Among the best Punjabi food I've had in NYC. I'm vegetarian and they have plenty of great options. The saag is a must, chole/chana is great, and all the daals are on point, though the chana dal is my favorite. All that being said, the parathas are incredible! Like, maybe the best parathas I've had in a restaurant outside of South Asia. I go back and forth between and aloo (potato) and mooli (radish) and I love both. They're HUGE and one pretty much knocks me out for the day. Don't sleep on the halva poori for breakfast - it comes with chole as well and will fill you up for most of the day. If you're looking for a reason or confirmation that you should order from Lahori Chilli then this is it! What a hidden gem. I'm pretty sure I've passed by it during Uber rides but never really noticed it, it's a little unassuming but don't let that fool you. I saw a few questions on here asking why there are multiple names for their restaurant on delivery apps but then I saw someone say it's because people are more likely to order from an Indian restaurant than a Pakistani one. It actually showed up as 'Indian Flavour' on Ubereats, I didn't realize it was Lahori until I googled the location but that didn't stop me from ordering. I think it's pretty messed up that they're even forced to do that to be honest, their food is more than good enough to stand on its own. I got the Chicken Karahi over rice and a chicken kebab on the side. First thing I noticed was the incredibly thoughtful packaging. They wrapped the to go container in plastic to prevent any type of spillage and included a plate underneath it. They also sent a pretty significantly sized salad wrapped in aluminum and a neatly wrapped mystery sauce. The prices are definitely a bang for your buck, the chicken karahi was only $11 and it was packed. Keep in mind that the prices are cheaper in store so it's definitely worth it. If you prefer boneless chicken then get something else like the tikka masala because the Karahi comes with both dark and white meat. I sometimes get a little weary about ordering boneless chicken because I've had experiences in the past with it being super dry. I was pleasantly surprised with the white meat pieces that were included, they were far from dry. I will say that the review mentioning the karahi needing a bit of salt was accurate. Everything was on point except for that, I didn't mind adding it myself though. As far as the kebab, it was really good and well seasoned. For only $1.63, most definitely a steal, it was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The salad was a refreshing addition. Overall, I'd definitely order again. read more

First off, this place is a trickster. They have different names on Uber Eats, and each one has a different delivery fee and offerings. I don't understand why Uber never does anything about it. Second, I ordered food from this place, and they sent me food that seemed to be from last night or stored from previous days. It wasn't worth a penny. Lahori Chilli is amazing and the staff are very friendly. I never really cared for samosas until I moved a few blocks away and my roommate introduced me. The samosas are made fresh each day and I can't remember the exact cost, but it was around $3 for 3 samosas. First time here and I'm so pleased! They have SO MANY options!!! You go up to the counter and tell them what you want. You can either order full or half. I got the half black lentils $4, half goat nihari $5, half chicken biryani $3 and 2 roti $1. Full size would be larger and twice the price. Next you sit down and they'll bring you a small salad, raita, and water. Next they will bring you your food. I really enjoyed the lentils, it was very hearty, creamy, and filling. I normally don't like nihari but I liked this one a LOT! It was rich in flavor, tender, smokey just the way it should be, and topped with julienned ginger and lemon. So yummy!!!! Finally posting this review now that I've ordered from here more than a few times! Let me preface by saying I'm from Houston, where we have really good desi/Pakistani food so my standards are pretty high. When i moved to NY I had a pretty hard time finding good Pakistani food. Had been craving nihari and stumbled upon Lahori Chilli Ubereats one night and decided to give them a shot. I did not have very high expectations given my past experience in NY but this place is pretty yummy! The papri chaat was good and really hit the spot. It had a good amount of chutney and yogurt. Only complaint is that some of the papri pieces tasted a little old/stale but it didn't take away from the overall taste/experience The beef nihari was better than I expected, great spice and masala level. Some pieces of meat were a little tough but overall very tasty! Karahi chicken was good, the chicken wasn't dry, and it only needed a little bit of salt. Most recently, their chicken biryani has really been hitting the spot! They also give a good amount of raita (skimping on raita is definitely a pet peeve of mine) Naan was good too, they do put sesame seeds on it which I'm not a fan of but it's not a dealbreaker. If you're craving some good desi food (at any hour of the day), don't sleep on this place, it definitely hits the spot! read more
