The rice was burnt taste. Egg roll was over fried. Sauce in guy ding tasted watery.

The combo specials portions are generous. And the eggrolls are so meaty and delicious. When I want something comforting and not too heavy I will often order their wonton soup and a couple eggrolls. I'm always stuffed after that. I don't trust Skip The Dishes. The driver got lost and I was denied my refund request. Order straight from restaurants who offer delivery. read more

Chicken fried rice very bland, General Tao's chicken meh, chicken balls are nothing special.

Honestly want to give it 2 stars but the food tasted pretty good. But the reason for the low score was because the portions were a joke, spent almost $50 on delivery and the rice we were given was in such a tiny cup and the chicken balls didn't come with sweet and sour sauce, it was a tiny portion cup of plum sauce. The wonton soup wasn't bad, but the broth was so salty! The egg rolls were pretty good, I usually hate them, but these were loaded with pork. For the amount of money we spent vs the amount of food we got it would have made more financial sense to get the dinners for 1. Probably won't return. read more

Food was good. Low rating because I ordered a drink that did not come with my order. This is not the first time. You pay for drinks, they just keep your money and NEVER deliver them. Phoned them, got the old "we are too busy to bring your drink", so they just keel your money. I have been sucked in by them a few times ordering drinks. General Tao was disgusting, it was filled with bird skin and bird parts, I don't even think it was chicken and it was soggy. The ribs were covered in fat. The portion sizes were very small. wasted money on nasty food. read more

Do not order food from this place. I ordered my food, it was tasteless, soggy, disgusting ( i posted a photo). The kicker? not the dish I intended to order ( now bear with me, this isn't just another petty customer). Go google chow suey/ chow mein. ok see the pictures of all the noodles? Now when I ordered there was a section called "chow suey/chow mein" under it, it said "add chow mein 50 cents" so thinking it was the noodles I saw in the photos it was referring it I ordered it. Delivery was fast but when the delivery guy came up to my door it was very clear why. He had literally sprinted to my door and away. without saying a word or even looking at me and just handed my food and ran. I never even got a chance to double check the food to see if it was correct ( lol ). Apparently the "real" chow mein/suey with noodles are in the "noodles speciality" and if you order "beef/chicken/whatever chop suey/mein" INSTEAD of the "cantonese chop mein" you will get bean sprouts and pretty much just that with bits of meat and whatever other vegetable they have. I could have lived with ordering the wrong dish despite their confusing menu, what I couldn't live with was the attitude I got when I called to let them know what happened. I made it very clear I was not trying to get a refund or a free dish. The girl on the other end was just not taking it seriously. kept explaining in a patronizing tone that it was "Canadian chop mein" She begrudgingly apologized AFTER I specifically mentioned i wasn't trying to get anything out of it because she seemed like she didnt want to admit it anything but right after I said that she stopped caring and hung up 10 seconds later while i was mid sentence. The service is absolute shit, so is the food, and the menu is not clear at all. I've been given wrong dishes all the time from other places but it's never a huge deal because they food ends up being good anyways and they are always so apologetic, or try to give me a discount (key word: try) or make it up in some how. This interaction has left my blood boiling, ,mainly because of the service and how I was treated afterwards and the disgusting food just made it worse. TOO LONG, DIDN'T READ? Lai Lai used to be one of my favourite Chinese restaurants. I was a patron for many years. The quality of the food and service were excellent for a long time, even after the original owners sold the place a few years back. It has now been in the hands of a 3rd owner for the past couple of years and it has been disastrous/downhill since then. Under this new ownership the food has gone from great to bland/sub-par, but the worst part is the service: It is simply atrocious. The young girl taking phone orders is very rude and unprofessional and it is clear that they have no respect for clientele. They have lost me as a customer. I have put a large X on this place. This place is not worth wasting your time and money on. Both their food and service were atrocious. We were met by extremely critical, impatient and unprofessional staff who denied any mistakes, let alone apologized for any of them. Our food was just as bad, we expected bad, budget Chinese delivery, but it couldn't even match up to the worst buffet food. Our Sichuan chicken was a boiled and dry mess tossed in with a barely cooked stir fry made from questionable produce and our noodle dish didn't even have noodles. When we called to tell them we were not satisfied with our meal and urging them to at least make their menu options more clear as to avoid the "confusion" of assuming that paying extra for noodles would mean getting noodles in your dish they laughed and even hung up on us. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities about this establishment and is not worth the effort it takes to dial your phone. read more
