If you're looking for a family business that makes food that is always on point EVERY time you go this is the place to be . Staff is always kind . The place is cozy and feels small when it's a full house . My favorite Thai food restaurant that never disappoints . Golden bags hot crunchy and fresh literally fryer to table . Pad Thai and Pad see eww are the go to . But let's be real the Thai ice tea one for the restaurant and one to go is the only way . Thanks Lai Thai for never changing and staying consistent.

Food was very good! I had the pepper steak and my friend had the green curry with Chicken. We shared the spring rolls and they were good. Fast courteous service.

This is our go to Thai place now when we visit Niles. Very good service and all the servers are Thai and super nice and efficient. Very good service when you dine here. Also delicious Thai food. This time we got the chicken pad see yew, garlic chicken, trio delight that had beef chicken and shrimp, chicken fried rice, catfish curry, chicken panang curry and we all got Thai Teas. Prices are very economical and they give decent portion sizes. Parking is also very easy in the little strip mall. Good Thai at a good price.

Lai Thai has had my heart (and stomach) for years. Tucked away in small strip mall located in Morton Grove, this cozy little spot has been my ride-or-die for Thai food, and even after moving out of the area, I still make a pilgrimage back whenever I'm nearby. Yes, it's that good. The food? Authentic, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The Chicken Pad Thai is my comfort food soulmate perfectly balanced, never too sweet, with just the right touch of tang and crunch. And the Spicy Basil Chicken (Thai style)? Bold, aromatic, and brings that heat in all the right ways. It's the dish that wakes up your taste buds and gives you a hug at the same time. What makes Lai Thai even better? The friendly staff who always make you feel welcome, the prices that are still reasonable (a rare find these days), and generous portion sizes that leave you full but already planning your next visit. After all these years, Lai Thai hasn't just held up, it's still my number one Thai spot! Welp! Onto the next!

First time trying Lai Thai and won't be our last. Best Thai restaurant in the area. Great service and awesome food. Chicken Satay was one of the best we've ever tried.

Did a larger carryout order from here on a weekend evening. I had a group of about 15 adults and the amount of food ordered was perfect. I ordered 2 small trays- one pad see ew and one green curry with chicken. The small trays were a bit more shallow than I thought but they did suffice for the size group. I also got 2 entree sized grilled eggplant and a bunch of appetizers, fresh spring rolls and golden bags. The order was easy to place over the phone and it was ready for pickup on time. They even made sure the order was correct when picking up.

There's usually something special about tiny family-owned eateries tucked inconspicuously into strip malls. I won't lie about Lai Thai. They serve some of the tastiest Thai food in town. The dining room is simply but smartly decorated. This time, I began with a cup of tom yum soup that was yum-yum, and my Missus ordered chicken noodle soup ("Thai penicillin," yah?). We then shared a shrimp & vegetable tempura app that rivaled any we've had at a Japanese restaurant. My entrée, spicy catfish, remained crisp in the coconut curry broth to the last bite. My Missus indulged in the pepper steak, which was also superb. Portions are generous and the prices are right. No language barrier here; we had a server who spoke fluent English. Authentic Thai restaurants tend to put everything on the table at once rather than serve one course at a time, but the staff here seems to be acclimated to Western-style pacing.

Spicy Fried Rice with beef (heat level: spicy)

Lai Thai so far is my favorite Thai restaurant in Morton Grove! The service is great! The staff are very friendly and I felt like they truly cared about me as a customer. I ordered for take out: 2 pad Kee mao (1 spicy, 1 medium) 1 spicy fried rice with beef (heat level: spicy) The pad Kee mao has very good flavor, 2 pieces of shrimp and some chicken. The order that I asked to be spicy was pretty spicy. I had to mix the medium with the spicy so I could even it out. The only thing I wish were different is that the noodles be longer. They were a bit too broken, so it was harder to eat each bite. The spicy fried rice is basically basil fried rice, as told by the employee. It was good, but lacked basil flavor. I wished it had more basil because that's the best part of basil fried rice. I also asked for it to be spicy and it was a bit too spicy, especially eating it side-by-side with the spicy pad Kee mao. Overall, I enjoy Lai Thai's food, restaurant atmosphere, and service. I will definitely be back to support them :) Also, not sure if they're going to lift the rule, but right now, you need to show your vax card in order to dine in.

I've had many clutch spots over the years as I moved around, but it took me a minute to find my North Shore go-to. But here I am, a local for half a year now, and my go-to is Ni's, 100%. Lisa, the owner extraordinaire, is friendly, engaging, and an absolute customer service star. Not to mention a formidable chef. She has an obvious passion for food and its cultural history, and I love talking with her about it. The whole crew at Ni's is awesome and always happy to chat or handle any dish alterations. They clearly care about their clientele, and it's one of the things that keeps me coming back. My "must have" is the veggie summer rolls. I get them every time. Really, really good. And after living in the Vietnamese neighborhood of San Francisco for a few years, eating out almost daily, I've had my fair share of summer rolls. The produce at Ni's is always fresh, and I love how they cleverly use jicama for crunch. The rolls come with peanut sauce, but Ni's makes a delicious vegan fish sauce in-house that I go with almost every time. Banh Mi, Veggie Pho, Crispy Tofu, Fried Rice, I've had everything on the menu that is vegan or can be made so, and I'll gladly order them all again and again. This is not an all-vegan restaurant by any stretch (fear not, meat eaters), but Lisa goes out of her way to have options, and I've never been anything but satisfied. Even my kindergartner is into the veggie Pho broth and summer rolls, and he's not the easiest to please. Wilmette is lucky to have Ni's. I hope everyone knows that. They're tucked around the corner from the busier area of Central Ave and Wilmette Ave, and I've been doing my best to spread the word. "You've never been to Ni's?! Get the hell outta here.." So, if you didn't know, now you do. You're welcome.

A lot of the familiar things on the menu. There's of course the banh mi and pho. It's about $13 for the Veggie Pho Chay. This has bamboo and mushrooms. Has a few things to add on. There's basil leaves, bean sprouts, and jalapeños to give it spiciness. Has a great variety of Vietnamese classics. It's closed Tuesdays. There's a few things for vegans and vegetarians.

I ordered the pho with all the meats, which totaled up to 18.25 before tax. There is only one size of bowl which was huge; probably enough for two people in my personal opinion. Serving size was good for the price. The broth was clear but I could barely taste the aroma of the star anise, cinnamon, and cloves etc. as I have with other pho restaurants. Beef pho should also have a savory taste and I didn't sense that. The only reason I'd come back is to try other entrees.
