The restaurant came highly recommended. It has a nice ambiance and pretty chandeliers. The menu is extensive. The shrimp appetizer was not exciting. We had filet mignon kabobs there was no kabob only chunks of meet with no seasoning. I asked for medium rare and it was medium. I could not get the attention of any wait staff until I had already eaten. We shared a dessert and it was pretty tasty. It was a nice place, friendly staff but the food was mediocre. read more

A middle eastern restaurant that sets itself apart from others nearby by offering a more elevated sit-down dining experience. Everything I ordered was delicious, the meat platters were great and the staff were helpful in letting me know about the speciality dishes. There was nothing I ate that I didn't like! Only downside was that the place can be loud, I went on an evening that they had a belly dancer which was fun but the music was very loud. The best middle eastern restaurant i have been to in the USA so great the best lamb and rice so good

A co-worker told me she had came to this middle eastern restaurant on the island and it was good, since moving out to SI in this area I've been longing for middle eastern food, so this was high on my list for must-go's. Shortly after came the social distancing/ quarintining era where alot of business had to close down and well my must-go list had to go on a little hiatus. Along came MOTHER'S DAY! The day my husband would ask me where would I like to order from, and out came Laila cravings. The food was cooked to perfection with a million flavors bursting in every bite. I can not imagine how much better (if it could get any better) with a sit in experience in the actual restaurant could be. They also were pretty busy but they were very honest when I called to put in my order at 5:45pm that it would take a little about 8:45pm although it was a long wait, I was impressed that my food came out at literally 8:45pm. Other places in the area were promising 40 min waits and turn around time ended up being 2-3 hours. So this small fact about the way they run their business, with honesty, makes me very excited to come back when we can sit in and eat when that time comes. Till then Be safe my Yelpers and make sure to check their takeout/delivery option-- they're so worth it ! Awesome Mediterranean spot on the island! The portions are large and very tasty. They are BYOB which is great & the current outdoor dining situation is very nice. I came here on a 30 degree night and the heaters were sufficient enough for me to have my coat off. This is a great new restaurant on Page Avenue that's really become a staple. It's nice to have different cuisine like this on the south shore of the island. It is a little pricey, but the food tastes fresh and the portions are a good size. I've dined in and done take out and both times the service was good, quick and efficient. Chicken sharmwa, filet mignon kebob. We all had leftovers. Friendly, lively, clean. Not too expensive. A dj showed up, little too loud at times. And service kinda slow. I absolutely love Laila's food!! I enjoy everything we ever get from there! The only issue I've ever had was I specifically made sure to double check that nothing had nuts in it because my son has a severe anaphylactic allergy to nuts. We ordered the Laila Combo and the menu (not in the website) didn't mention the ingredients, but I spoke with someone on the phone and she reassured me there was nothing with nuts so I believed it. My son ate one bite of the muhamara and I I had a bite and crunched on a nut and freaked out!! I immediately gave him Benadryl and called the owner. He apologized but mentioned it was listed on the website. I told him not the one I was on. He was very apologetic and I appreciated that. Anyway my son was ok and the food was good. Came here with my family and the waitress was very young. Didn't put our food in. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours. Ordered 3 appetizers: calamari, baba ghanoush and a Laila salad (Shepard's salad). The salad was thick and green lettuce that was not good. Everything else was fine. The entrees took 45 minutes to come out. Tasteful but at that point we weren't even hungry and just over sitting and waiting so long. When we asked the waitress where our food was never returned to tell us. We asked for calamari sauce with our food and she said it was tahini which it wasn't. Serve is poor. Staff charged us for the order, but never brought it to the table.. Also, they don't know how to operate the credit card machine. The girl took the deposit over the phone and said credit card was declined, gave her another credit card, she charged both. Deposit was never deducted from the bill.
