Dope tiki bar in Omaha! If I'm in a new city for 48 hours, odds are I'm gonna find the tiki oasis. This was just what the doctor ordered. Long event day on our feet and this was the definition of an escape. The underground tiki bar might not seem like much when you're walking down the stairs to find it, but once you're inside you're transported somewhere vibrant yet relaxed all at once. Bartenders were super nice and friendly. They made awesome conversation and once they found out I was visiting, they seemed even more hospitable. Tiki drinks are known to take a few extra minutes due to the laundry list of ingredients, so the fact they took the time to get to know me really elevated the experience. For the cocktail menu, you'll find all the classics like Mai Tai, Painkiller, Saturn, etc. They also had an extensive variety of original cocktails, which I think we all opted for. Mine was called the Swamp Rattler (had to pay homage to my Florida roots) and I loved it! Vibes are on point. Place was busy at 11pm on a Thursday night. Most of us didn't realize it was closing time at midnight, and they were all so friendly about telling us to leave. Was cool that the bartenders knew all the tiki bars in Denver, too! We used to go to Laka Lono a few times a month when we lived downtown and always loved the drinks and ambience. We recently took friends there and were wowed! They have stepped up their game for sure! New menu, new food options, and more drink options. They take reservations for tables now which was a nice surprise as well. The puke punch says it's strong on the menu and I wasn't ready for it- I was feeling good after that one drink! It's very sweet which makes it the best on the menu for my sweet tooth. Most bang for your buck too! My friend said the zombie was delicious! I can't remember what the frozen drink was but my other friend said it was very good! My husband loved the Mai Tai. The volcano bowl (3-4 people shared drink) was fantastic ! For the food, we were pleasantly surprised with how tasty the spam fries were! The dip was excellent as well! The edamame was good as well! Such a fun place!!! This is so worth the trip downtown. They have a huge menu selection of rum cocktails, as well as tons of other boozy non rum options. They have great group drinks, shots, snacks, and food options too. I was absolutly obsessed with my Cats Pajamas Clarified Punch. I've never had anything like it. A perfect mixture of coconut, brown sugar, pineapple, and tequila. They do have plenty of seating but it was hard to find a spot. It can get pretty busy. The line moves pretty fast for getting long. Reservation for Clio got a little held up so we ended up downstairs at Laka Lono for pre-dinner drinks! Shockingly, we were able to get a table that we squeezed about 15 people at and had a great time! As usual, their drinks are great - pack a punch but beautifully balanced (at least if you like rum!). I came here for a bachelorette, and we all had a blast! I've been in a few times before, and the vibes are hard to be. It is a very moody/tiki themed bar, with plenty of decor, and very strong drinks-- most rum-based. I'm not a wrong person, but one of the tequila drinks was amazing -- the pajamas cocktail was a crowd favorite at our table! It had such a robust flavor profile, you could barely tell it was alcoholic, and although I don't drink much tequila, this was my personal favorite! One of the most fun bars in Omaha! Hidden underground, this rum club transports you to a little tiki oasis. We got a classic daiquiri and a head games cocktail. Phenomenal drinks, perfect balance of all ingredients! I really liked the local coffee used in the head games drink with the coconut whipped cream! I love this Rum Club in downtown Omaha! There's lots of tables of varying size to accommodate all sizes of party. The bar is tiki themed, and is a fun place to hang out! The drinks are really good, and I highly recommend getting a shareable drink depending on your party size - they typically come in a fun container or have a gimmick (like being lit on fire) that is cool to experience. The one concern was the server had his shrimp pile sitting on the bar eating it while serving food and drinks. Hewas sucking his finger after tearing the meat out of the tail. Very messy. And he did not wash his hands after slobbering all over his hands when grabbing straws and serving plates or garnishing drinks. So cleanliness was a concern. I love this place and I love that it's right under Clio so you can have a fun dinner and fun drinks after. We went on a weeknight so it wasn't too busy but it gets really busy on the weekends. I love the tiki decor it's a really huge space and it's all completely decorated. It feels like bar in a much bigger city. I got the Head Games and it was so good it tasted like a coffee dessert but it wasn't too weak. The bartender was so nice and hilarious. 10/10 experience. read more

We noticed within our visit that the larger group drinks have music associated with it when it's brought out! This place has a little something for everyone!! This has now become my official tiki bar when I come to Omaha. This is one of the better tiki bars that I have been to. It dimly lit with a nice tiki vibe. The staff there is awesome. So, very friendly personable, helpful , and upbeat. The bar has its regulars and they are have a flow of transients running through. It is kind of easy to pass up, as it is located down a flight of stairs and is marked by a banner above the stairs. You will find metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. There is limited seating at the bar and a decent amount of dining room seating spread across two areas, one off of the main bar and the other just to the right and would be perfect for hosting a private event. They serve food, but I was here for the drinks. They serve your tropical favorites such as Mai Tais, Painkillers, Hurricanes, Saturns and Zombies. You will find a decent selection of beer here too, as well as Happy Hour specials to be on the lookout for. They also offer large group drinks that serves 2 to 10 people. I honestly tried to try everyone of their drinks. They were all good and I did not find one that I did not like. They are also reasonably priced. When I got my bill, I had though that the bartender had rung me up wrong. I had a really good time at the bar. It is a nice, low key, chill spot. And everyone there is so nice. They have the best drinks and instead of tiki bar music they were pumping classic soul. I was in heaven. I highly recommend swinging by and checking this place out. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Laka Lono before! This is one of my favorite watering holes in the Old Market, and a place I always recommend to out of towners, as there is nothing like it in Omaha. Located below street level, when you walk downstairs you're instantly transported to a tropical oasis with tiki music and all decor. This is one of the only authentic tiki bars in America and they are very respectful of the glasses used and prepare true tiki style drinks. There's ample seating at the bar or in the main area. They recently started offering food to accompany drinks. My favorite is the classic pina colada.
