After opening an hour late 10am, not the posted 9 am, the front office staff was rude and dismissive. The front desk ignored us for 5 minutes (I clocked it) as we stood there waiting to sign in. She was on her phone. It was clear by their attitude, we were interrupting what was most important to her on her phone. She had an "I don't care" attitude and was bothered by us needing medical attention for my injured husband. We left and got excellent care from a different facility. I have been to this UC a few times and each time I have been welcomed by the most pleasant and amazing staff and Drs . There is not ever much of a wait - the longest I waited was 25 mins one day but that was rare - usual wait is around 10 mins . They never over book and are open 8-8 daily . The office is always so clean that is very important to me as well as the Drs and careI receive each time . I have been very lucky to have been seen by Sarah each time I have gone in and she remembers my history ( she does look it up ) but it's nice to know she has history with me . She takes really good care of me knowing how quick I can go into getting sicker quicker then others. She has me come back for F/Up appts as she probably does with most who are sick to ensure they are improving. I do drive to this UC as it's my favorite- when I could just go down the street from my house but the care there was not as good and I always saw different Drs . If you want a good UC with the most caring Drs and staff this one will be it . I feel it's almost as good as my primary Dr and that says a lot . Thank you all . 100% recommend Exer Lake Forest! I had a very positive experience, especially given the considerable amount of pain I was in (8/9 out of 10 pain) after undergoing a dental operation. Despite the pain and anxiety from my operation, I left the clinic feeling much better about my circumstance and hopeful for the days ahead. My experience is 100% due to the grade A level help I received from Dr. Spurlock and his team. Dr. Spurlock was so knowledgeable and attentive. They understood my issue immediately; very sharp Doctor! Unlike other Doctors I've had who only acknowledge the ailment, rather than the patient with the ailment. There've been times in the past that I've felt barely acknowledged by my doctor and it's never a good feeling to be unseen but especially so when it's from a Physician. Thankfully not the case here with Dr. Spurlock and his team; they made an easy atmosphere that immediately brought my anxiety down. Diana was the nurse that checked me in and she brought me to the back and assisted the Doctor during my visit. She answered all my questions calmly and professionally- I felt at ease knowing I was in good hands. Nina helped me as well over the phone with questions and concerns regarding my medication (insurance required prior-auth and Nina explained everything to me calmly and professionally) Jerrid is great as well; he also helped me over the phone and answered all of my questions with grace and professionalism throughout the 10 minute phone call and numerous questions I had. Class A team and Class A experience. This clinic sets the gold-standard for Urgent Care Clinics from my experience. And as a 32 year old Southern California native, born and raised, I've been to plenty of clinics here in OC. We used this facility for a 1 hour RT PCR test for a travel covid requirement. Their report was severely lacking in information and details and we had to ask for multiple amendments to the report so it was usable (they also took a copy of the passport and didn't even get the full name or enter the passport number onto the report). The person working at the front seemed very displeased at our desire for additional details in the report and kept harping how "we've never had an issue with travel PCRs." Unfortunately for us, the report did end up getting rejected. Luckily, we were at LAX early enough that we got another COVID test done near LAX and could still board the flight. I believe they just started offering the 1 hour PCR pretty recently. They have some kinks they need to work out. read more

I went to Lake Forest Urgent care after sustaining an injury. I arrived at 4 and was seen at 4:30. The center's posted closing time was 5. Staff members were polite - to me. Family members that interacted with them on my behalf did not have the same opinion. I felt my visit was rushed. I believe they wanted to close and go home. I do not feel like the physcian that saw me understood the extent of my injury. Nor did he ask sufficient questions or perform anything other than a cursory examination. I saw my primary care two days following my urgent care visit for a recheck. She was very unhappy with the way my injury had been addressed and treated. There are many other things I could say but as the details are specific to my injury I'll just leave it at this: there are other better urgent care options in the Lake Forest area. read more

If I could give this place negative reviews I would. This place feels just like a death trap. I decided to come into this urgent care because it was close and you could even set up a quick appointment for the same day. First, when I came in I told the receptionist I was in for a uti. I knew it was a uti and I gave him my insurance information. He explicitly explained that it should be covered by my insurance but if anything my out of pocket cost would be no more then $85. Wrong. I was billed and charged over $200 after insurance. (If I had know this I would've gone to another urgent care I've been to before for this exact issue which only charged me 76$ but whatever) Secondly, the doctors here are in my opinion just quacks. I told the doctor (Dr. Poo-something) I had a uti, tested and confirmed, and he prescribed me antibiotics that are very well known for being be the worst antibiotics due to the HEAVY list of side effects. (I literally got a 10 page packet of warnings when I picked it up). Within 30 hours I got progressively worse and had extensive body pain. I called as the doctor told me to if I got worse and the receptionist basically blew me off and told me she'll call me back tomorrow morning bc they were closing in 20 minutes. They never called back and I never got the results of the so called "additional tests" on the cultures of the infection. I couldn't even move without being in pain so I just went to the ER. They ran extensive test but the second i told them what antibiotics I was taking they informed me that the medical community advises doctors against prescribing those specific antibiotics due to a range of reasons (my side effects including). They switched my antibiotic and within 15 hours I felt a major difference. I will NEVER come back here again and if your looking for even half decent care take your chances somewhere else. read more

I just finished a walk-in appointment at Lake Forest Urgent Care. They had friendly front office staff and check-in took less than 5 minutes. My MA Tammie was efficient and professional. The physician Dr. Nugent was friendly and thorough. Also it's a huge deal to me that I can be seen here by an actual physician (MD/DO). At most urgent cares in this area, you pay the same amount of $ to see a nurse or PA. I'll definitely recommend Lake Forest Urgent Care to my friends and family members. read more

This place is terrible. The front office staff pretend to be doctors and give patients advice instead of just getting them in to see the doctor. Last I checked, people who to urgent care are there to see the doctor not see the front desk staff. Last night specifically, the front desk staff told us to go to the emergency room without us even seeing the doctor or talking to him. We told them that we were there to see a doctor and that they were not doctors. My wife had an infected helix piercing and the earring just snaps open but the doctor made us leave, take it out ourselves, and then come back the next day, "we don't have the tools to take that out". It was really more like we are open until 8 but it's 7:40 and we just want to go home so let's send people home or to the hospital for no reason. Then today, the same front desk staff member who was playing doctor gave my wife an injection in the low back instead of glute. I don't know if this woman moonlights as a receptionist and is a nurse too or what because she had no name tag or anything and can't give a simple injection in the right place. However, a nurse should know the difference between a persons glute and back are. The provider supervising should also be paying attention and saying something when injections are being given in the wrong place. We have been here a dozen times because it's convenient but this is the straw that broke the camels back. "Dr. P" is absent minded and does not send prescriptions to the right place over the course of multiple weeks and visits. 3 separate visits for 3 different illnesses and he did not send the prescription to the right pharmacy either time. Tiffany is great. She is really nice, helpful, and knowledgeable but she let the random receptionist/ nurse inject my wife in the back instead of the glute. There is only one staff member there other than Tiffany who is actually kind, patient, and understanding. Don't waste your time or your money here. You're better off just going somewhere else and spending the money and time driving to go somewhere you'll be respected and taken care of properly by ALL THE STAFF. read more

My daughter came in for an infected abscess that needed to be drained. LFUC was so professional and kind! The puss smelled bad and they didn't make us feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. The doctor kept making us laugh during the process, easing our stress levels. I would definitely come back! Also, this facility is very clean which is a plus! read more

Read this before you decide to go here. We took our 6 month son for cold symptoms. We were seen by Tiffany Ellis, nurse physician. While she was performing the exam, she realized the otoscope (the device to look into ears) was not working. I asked her to find another one so we knew it was not an ear infection. During this time, we discussed that if cough was bad at night to give him a steroid that she would prescribe and that was it. After waiting for almost an hour, the staff came out to tell me they didn't have a working oroscope, (the most basic equipment that a doctors office should have). However, Tiffany would be prescribing an antibiotic. Which sent me over the edge. She wanted to give a tiny baby antibiotics as "just in case" issue, not based on facts. My scam radar went up and this woman could not be trusted! We went to another Exer for a 2nd opinion. He did not need antibiotics. She called us several times trying to justify this, but luckily we could not be swayed to arbitrary give him antibiotics bc of the 2nd opinion .The Doctor from this office called us after the weekend and after looking at the file and test results confirmed that our son did not need the antibiotics. Do not trust this lady! Tiffany Ellis is a very dangerous and luckily this was not serious matter and we were smart enough to get second option. read more

I looked online before choosing an urgent care to go to. I looked at the distance from my house, their hours, their rating, etc. Lake Forest Urgent Care is supposed to be open until 8pm. I got there at 7:40pm and was told I couldn't be seen...they weren't taking any more patients. There was only one other waiting. If you need to actually get there by a half hour before, then it should be posted! I went to Nellie Gail, instead, which is open until 9pm. Geeze. What if I had a serious injury, or something. I was just told that "the powers that be" said no more patients. Seemed uncaring to me. read more

Went in recently for an eye infection & was prescribed eye drops to use for 7 days. The eye drops ran out in 4 days, and they refuse to provide a single refill so that I can finish the treatment I paid for the first time around. There are plenty of Urgent Cares in the area. I arrived at this urgent care after a long flight from the East Coast and an hour's drive from LAX. During 12 hours in transit I realized that a cut on my arm had become infected. After calling three urgent cares in Aliso Viejo -- none of which even answered the phone at 4:30 p.m. -- the front desk clerk at the Renaissance Club Sport hotel recommended this urgent care. So happy he did! I was seen by Tiffany Ellis, a PA. She was friendly, professional, very thorough and took her time, though I was the last patient of the day. I was directed to a local pharmacy and even given discount coupons for my antibiotics. Everyone else at the urgent care was also friendly and professional. As promised, two days later I received a follow-up call and encouragement to come back if I didn't continue to heal. Last Friday I had to make a trip to urgent care for a red patch on my ankle that persisted to get worse for three days. Not wanting to be stuck in emergency over the weekend I made the dredded visit to Lake Forest Urgent Care. To my surprise I walked in ,having been here before years earlier, it was spotless, smelled clean, one lady waiting and a gentleman checking out. The two young ladies at the front desk assisted me promptly only 2 forms to fill out. Within 5 minutes I was in the back. A young lady took my information and vitals. Within under 10 minutes the PA showed up , Tiffany Ellis, she assessed my ankle concerns. Spent 15 minutes with me going over care and medications. Wanted to see me back in three day , which is never heard of from an urgent care facility. I informed her I already had made an appointment with my primary care physician. A few minutes later a nurse came in gave me a shot if antibiotics and my paperwork and prescriptions were sent to my pharmacy. All in all I was in and out within 45 minutes, unheard-of. To top it off on Tuesday I got a follow-up call !! THE MOST PLEASANT VISIT TO AN URGENT CARE EVER. I would recommend this place to all. Extremely satisfied !!! read more
