Boyfriend had no idea where to stay, and it was my first time going to Lake George so I didn't know either; I chose this place mainly because I like using the Hilton app to book... super convenient - you can choose your room the day before (we prefer the top floor) and if you request the digital key, you will receive a message though the app when your room is ready - and you can go up directly without checking in at the front desk (room unlocks with your phone). We booked the most basic king room. It was clean, bed was comfortable, big flat screen tv and all the usual Hilton amenities. Bathroom had a beautiful shower. The hotel is obviously an older one that was renovated, but it was very nicely done. The lobby is gorgeous. I *loved* the lobby bar area, the stone fireplace and the outside backyard with Adirondack chairs, and even a fire pit and a bbq. I would have spent a while there if the weather had been less misty! Usual Hilton breakfast in the lobby, we didn't take part. It looked similar to the one at Littleton NH's Hampton Inn, but with a bit less options. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful! Very happy with our short stay here and we will absolutely be back!

When we checked in we were told that they clean the rooms every other day when you are there multiple days. If we needed cleaning more often, just to ask. Went into the room and saw that the HVAC wood vents on the doors were called in dust. Ok, so they forgot to clean it. A few minutes later I was shown a dirty rag left on the Butlers Pantry sink. Then I was down some hairs were left on the shower so it wasn't cleaned well. Three strikes so a call to the desk to complain. Normally wouldn't complain but these just added up. They offered to move us to another room on a different floor, but same style room. Opted to stay since by then we had already "moved in" by unpacking. They said they would market it a point to do a cleaning the next day. So-Fi for our electronic items was ok. But Ib think the television was on Wi-Fi and it would cut out every few minutes, causing the screen to freeze and blur. This was on all the channels so it was annoying when trying to watch the news, a show, or a movie. Water pressure in the shower was OK. Would have liked it to be more stronger but it worked. Breakfast was good. Our first morning there we were surprised that they had scrambled eggs. Second day the familiar half circle omelets with cheese were back along with bacon. No complaints as it was all good. Did look for apple juice and not sure if they had milk there to drink. Plenty of coffee though.

Gave credit card to book and drove to hotel to change for wedding. As soon as you pull in you realize something isn't right. Major roof work going on, over grown landscaping, beat up parking lot. Vagrants and undesirables (homeless?) roaming the parking lot and lobby. The stench in lobby as I'm waiting for desk lady to finish up a check in....almost threw up in my mouth. Combination of urine and body odor. No chance I was going to sleep and shower here. Mildew and dampness was the feeling on skin. Told lady at counter who was nice that I had just called but want my cc refunded...I'm not staying here...disgusting. She said she couldn't reverse charges, I'd have to email management company...2 email, typical BS response..."we're reviewing your request" The state of NY and Dept of Health should close this rat hole. If they are housing poor and homeless then mention that on website or when calling. Could be the filthiest place I've ever been in.

Not to mention the fact you can see through the bedsheets and the mattress looks like it came straight from the side of the road. When we finally excepted the fact he had to sleep here we got in bed and turned off the lights just to find out the walls are so thin we could see the light coming in from our neighbors room and heard their TV all night long. The next morning we went to grab the breakfast and use the business center. Spoiler alert the business center is just a computer in the lobby. The breakfast was mid besides the fact there are fruit flys everywhere and coffee spilled on the floor the worker decided to leave. There was so little sitting to eat and we weren't allowed to leave the room with our meals so we were forced to stand. Nobody cleaned off the tables at breakfast so when we finally got a seat it was sticky with hot chocolate. After that we went to checkout and by mistake we left our phone in the room so when we returned to get it I had to wait 15 minutes just for someone to serve me at the counter and once he finally arrived he wouldn't let me back in the room because he didn't believe me. After 15 more minutes of bickering we finally got our phone back. Don't even bring the "pool" into the conversation... 1 star

The young couple that own and run the B&B were so friendly and accommodating. The room was wonderful, with a jet tub, heated bathroom floor and a bed that felt heavenly. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The homemade cookies in the evening were a definite bonus! I am looking forward to coming back in the warmer months so that we can enjoy the porch and grounds.

I liked the touch of having the mini soaps, shampoo and body wash. Felt like a hotel. The reason for 3 stars was because we had a problem with our plumbing one night that resulted in the toilet overflowing and somehow what was in the toilet coming up through the shower drain!! The staff really tried everything to fix it, but unfortunately since it was late at night, they weren't able to. We lucked out and the cabin next to us was just cleaned so they gave us the keys to use that bathroom for the night. The next morning they were able to fix it and had someone come to clean up. Overall, I would come back again. Me and my family had a nice time. And the location in my opinion is ideal. Right between both towns and you can walk to breakfast, a deli, and horseback riding

The room she gave me had a view of the parking lot. I indicated the room was advertised as having a partial lake view. She didn't offer anything else except to give the number of a reservation manager. I called and texted that number with no response. The number listed on Expedia was for the Sundowner. I called that number with no response. I ended up turning in the keys and working with Expedia to try to get a refund. Customer service is terrible!

Normally I would have stuck it out for the two days that we were booked BUT we had our one year old daughter with us and there was NO WAY in hell I'd let her sleep in her pack and play on that disgusting floor. I'm so beyond words disappointed. There's truly no excuse for this sort of negligence of such beautiful property. Parents be warned, pictures are misleading.

It's certain we got off to a bumpy start but I'm certain it's their preparations for winter and I just got caught in an anomaly of scheduling. The property is immaculate. Landscaping lovely. Placement of the cabins, lodges and other buildings, well thought out. Little things, small details like attached grill brushes for every grill, well placed seating and communal dining areas shows an attentiveness to guests that I appreciate. After my rough start, management was accommodating and made sure we were happy with the rest of the trip. if you're planning on off season, know the town closes down with just a couple of exceptions and that the resorts will be doing maintenance before the long winter sets in.
