I decided on spontaneous detour here yesterday before dropping off The Homie elsewhere in Redmond (9/7/26). Convenient free parking while shopping. Ended up walking through and enjoyed the spacious feel, lots of public walkways & seating, and decent variety of retail businesses, eateries, and there's also lodging within the vicinity. Redmond Town Center is comparable to the updated Totem Lake area in Kirkland or University Village in Seattle. Not as cramped as most regional shopping mall destinations. Useful placement of business directories throughout. Clean, well maintained, and felt safe. It has been updated to complement all the new growth and development in the downtown core.

Except for the Tesla booth, no one even bothered greeting us... yes, we brought our cute 7-month-old puppy with us. The music booth planted in the middle of everything was so loud it became obnoxious. Then there was the puppy booth with zero signage -- are they selling puppies or are they a rescue? No clue. The only visible sign said "not fully vaccinated," which raises the question: WHY are the puppies there to begin with? They shouldn't be there as a petting zoo, exposed to random dogs. There were maybe around 10 booths total, and at least 3 of them were just photo-op booths. The "doggy care" booth was especially confusing... what exactly are they even selling? Their setup also had real estate advertising mixed in. Overall, it felt poorly organized, underwhelming, and more geared toward Instagram photos than actual pet community engagement.

Crossroads is sort of a hybrid strip and indoor mall which collectively keep itself going. Crossroads indoor portion is held up by a strong food court, it's "Public Market" with a lot of options - burgers, Mexican, Thai, sushi, Indian, Boba, Korean, Hawaiian and more. On top of that, there are plenty of seats. I'd even go so far to say that the Food Court is the main attraction here and the other stores are secondary, which include Old Navy, Hallmark and other services - Mini Library, information about Bellevue and such. The Mall itself looks kept up and seems to be doing well enough to keep going, so I say that's good. People clearly endorse it. I was here on a weekday afternoon for work. I sat down to take a rest and two separate families walked up with their children and put them in those 'coin-operated riding machines'. Moments before this happened, I asked myself "does anyone use these things anymore?". My question was answered. Crossroads is alive.

For a little treat, grab ice cream at Salt & Straw, a boba tea from Don't Yell at Me, or a coffee and pastry at 203º Fahrenheit Coffee. It's tough to resist any of these. With this being an outdoor shopping center, it's the most lively during the spring and summer. There is a main outdoor seating area near the cinema and tables here fill up pretty quickly during the warmer months with people who opt for takeout from one of the casual eateries. Across the street, smaller sections of seating are accompanied by fireplaces. I've been grateful for the fireplaces and heat lamps during the wintertime! Other than exploring the food options, I enjoy browsing Nordstrom Rack and could spend hours at the Barnes & Noble. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are also here. Along with these larger stores, there is a variety of small boutique-like shops, providing an opportunity to support the small businesses. As for parking, the main lot in front of Trader Joe's and Nordstrom Rack get pretty crowded, so I'd recommend parking in the garage on the side of Chase bank. Each parking spot in this garage has a light over it that turns red if occupied and green if available, making it really easy to navigate. With spring right around the corner, I'm sure I'll find myself here again shortly!

I initially had some reservations about finding parking since the outer lots were pretty full and busy due to the Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, but as I walked into the middle of the area, I realized that there were also free parking garages that I could have used. Thoughtfully enough, they even had the number of spaces available displayed on the entrances. This place must get super busy to need that feature! I liked how the greenery was well kempt, and how there were navigational signs so you don't get lost. I went to the Paper Source, Due Cucina, and Don't Yell At Me. Super convenient! I guess the only thing I wished it could have was a better way to travel there through public transportation.

One downside of this spot is how crowded it gets due to the number of stores in the area, along with limited parking that is also used by employees. While you're usually able to find a spot, be prepared for some walking, as the complex is fairly spread out. I really like The Landing. It's located in Renton right off the 405 freeway at Exit 5, which makes it very accessible. The area has a great mix of food options, including Red Robin, Korean barbecue, Thai food, and even a movie theater. The layout is well spread out and the area is especially known for its Asian cuisine. I definitely recommend taking your time to walk around, especially on the weekends when it's lively and busy. It's also conveniently located next to a park, which adds to the experience. The selection here is mostly food-focused, with limited shopping options such as Ulta Beauty and Target. Overall, the value of this place is decent, though it does lean more toward the expensive side due to its touristy feel. Despite that, I still recommend stopping by.

It could use a nicer sit-down restaurant as there is only a teriyaki joint and a grocery store restaurant inside Town & Country. Parking most of the time is easy here, though it tends to fill up at busy times of the year like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Overall, I think it meets the needs of the area but there are better shopping venues within Bellevue in terms of offerings.

Apparently it's very popular. Another popular place which I recommend is "Facing East." Facing East let's you know when your party is ready via text. The downside to this place is the flowers. There's low hanging flower than if you aren't 3 feet and under you need to walk around it. I walked right into it while trying to check in.

First visit to this shopping/dining destination in Kent (9/10/26)…read more Primarily, The Homie and I drove from Shoreline to Kent via I-5S (took the Orillia exit at SeaTac) to attend a performance at Theatre Battery, near Daiso. It has a mix of businesses: retail, restaurants, cafes, AMC movie complex, Green River College - Kent campus, and free multi-level parking garage (24 hour max). Driving around, it appears to be well maintained and felt safe early to late evening.
