THE LANDING @ RENTON Parking is available throughout multiple lots, but it is mostly street parking and can get extremely busy. One downside of this spot is how crowded it gets due to the number of stores in the area, along with limited parking that is also used by employees. While you're usually able to find a spot, be prepared for some walking, as the complex is fairly spread out. I really like The Landing. It's located in Renton right off the 405 freeway at Exit 5, which makes it very accessible. The area has a great mix of food options, including Red Robin, Korean barbecue, Thai food, and even a movie theater. The layout is well spread out and the area is especially known for its Asian cuisine. I definitely recommend taking your time to walk around, especially on the weekends when it's lively and busy. It's also conveniently located next to a park, which adds to the experience. The selection here is mostly food-focused, with limited shopping options such as Ulta Beauty and Target. Overall, the value of this place is decent, though it does lean more toward the expensive side due to its touristy feel. Despite that, I still recommend stopping by. read more

This is a great spot for a lunch break if you work at nearby offices and mechanic shops. I've noticed quite a few Boeing workers around lunchtime so keep that in mind. My favorite places to eat are Papaya, Big Chicken, and also the Panda Express there as well. The parking around the area is plentiful. And there is even a parking garage with an elevator. I have seen the security stop multiple people before which is great but I've seen interactions gone bad. security has accused me of smoking inside a bathroom before. The guard barged into the bathroom while I was washing my hands and started yelling at a guy in the bathroom stall and telling him to stop smoking. I leave the bathroom and he followed me and accused me of smoking myself. His exact words were "you fit the description of someone who smokes in the bathroom". Admitting to profiling people is already bad, but it's also bad when "security" doesn't seem very competent and simply walks around accusing everyone. This is a great place to shop at if you want almost everything within walking distance. Having small children with you is absolutely no problem, the sidewalks are clean and well maintained. My nieces really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit by the theater. whole experience would be better if security didn't constantly accuse me of things I didn't do. read more

Most of the businesses close by 6 pm on a Sunday so if you are looking for a fun thing to do after 6 on a Sunday, don't come here. Lol. The yogurt store is open and a fun thing to do but not much near the cinema area. There is a Ross, Marshall's and a ulta but that's about it. It's been 8 years since I reviewed the Landing and that review is very outdated! When I reviewed The Landing last It was still largely a ghost town. The large anchor spaces were filled like Ross, LA Fitness, Red Robin, and The Rock But most of the smaller spaces were vacant. As the years passed and the economy improved more stores and restaurants occupied The Landing to the point I'd wager it is mostly full. They offer some services like medical, dental, chiropractor, and vision while also having a large selection of restaurants. Some of these restaurants are the quick bite variety such as Potbelly Sandwiches and Mucho Burrito while others offer a longer dining experience like Wild Fin or Trenchers. By and large they have more chain restaurants and stores than smaller businesses, and sadly the smaller businesses seem to have the highest turnover. I still miss Pongi Bonsi and the cute chocolate shop. I hear rent there can be very steep. If you want to go to Ross, Target, Marshall's, or other big name stores The Landing will have you covered but if you're going for boutique shopping you're not going to find it here for the most part. I personally love The Landing because it is close by and very convenient. I enjoy Trenchers and Wild Fin especially and now that they have an ice cream shop instead of their numerous froyo shops I'll have another excuse to stop on by! read more

The develpers of The Landing had a great idea picking the location of this outdoor shopping area. Great location near 405, Boeing, Lake WA, and no where near any other shopping areas makes this a great place to "Land"! The Landing offers chain retail, dining, movie theatre and 2 apt complexes. I eagerly await for new shops to fill this shopping center after several years being open. Plenty of free parking and even a parking garage! Nice outdoor shopping centre in Renton! I hardly visit Renton, but The Landing makes me wanna come back, as the outdoor setup of restaurants and stores all in one setting is convenient and doable! The selection isn't large, but you can spend some time here with the businesses they have. Plus, there's a theatre here! Parking is usually easy to find as there is garage parking, in addition to private lots and street parking. On a personal note, I usually visit The Landing when I'm going to Seahawks Training Camp, as The Landing is the meeting location for when the buses pick you up for VMAC. For all those attending the training camp, they give you a book of coupons to use for several of the businesses in The Landing. It's a great incentive to visit again because for someone who doesn't often go to Renton, like me, the book of coupons has some great deals and encourages me to try new eateries I haven't been to before. Overall, this is a nice outdoor area in Renton with businesses to discover and enjoy. read more

The Landing is a cool outdoor shopping center. There are plenty of shopping and dining options here. I was looking for a place to hangout while my wife was at her appointment. The Landing was the perfect place for me to go. While walking around for awhile and browsing the various shops, I tried to decide what to do. Should I shop for clothes that I do not need? Nah! Should I watch a movie at Regal Cinemas? No, not enough time. So, what did I do? I went to Top Pot Doughnuts here at the Landing. I pigged out on sweets, and I used their Wifi connection. I really enjoy coming to The Landing - what a great, hoppin, little spot in Renton. Saturday nights during the summer they have live music across from the movie theater. Friday nights from 3-7pm there is a farmers market. I am always down here going to either Target or The Pro Shop (aka, my favorite store). There is a lot of retail space, but there is also a lot of business already here. Shopping includes: Seahawks Pro Shop, Rue 21, Target, Ross, Dicks, Fry's, PetSmart & more. They are also adding an Ulta Beauty (YAYYYY!) Food/dining includes: The Rock, Red Robin, World Of Beer (live music on the weekends at night), Panera Bread, Mucho Burrito, Wing Stop (you might run into Sidney Rice!), & much more! The only food place it is missing is somewhere good for ice cream, like a Cold Stone or Baskin Robbins. My favorite part about The Landing: I never see a lot of teenagers hanging out and causing trouble. Seems like the older crows likes to chill here, LOVE IT. ALSO - in the move theater they have coupon books with various coupons for places throughout The Landing so make sure to pick one up! read more

I really love this shopping area. I feel it's really convenient in location and it has a bunch of good stores. Target, Staples and PetCo are all right next to each other, and across the road is Dicks, Ross, Marshalls, and a bunch of food places. The theater here is also really nice. I feel you can take care of all your errands here with there being doctors office's, cell phone stores, and an eye glass place. They even have apartments (how I'd love to live there). This area is really nice. There aren't any homeless people pan handling or "thuggy" kids hanging out. There also isn't really even much litter here. They have ample parking in two huge lots, street parking and a parking garage. The only down side I guess would be that it's outdoors but it's such a nice area that it doesn't matter that much. Not in love with this place. I think it's to spread out and the parking is wierd (our friends that met us here didn't know there was a garage for the theater). The little streets are odd. I do like the Target, Ross, 5 Guys and the Theatre. Find it odd that alot of the restaurants close between lunch and dinner. For some reason, I thought this was one complete, enclosed complex and not a grouping of stores still separated by streets. I have only been to Vino and Red Robin in here, but there's a Target and a few other places to eat. I've got the burger place and Papaya in my sights, but just haven't gotten there yet. It's nice to have a jumbo parking garage in there, but I usually see plenty of parking spots available in the lots and even on the streets. The Landing is relatively close to where we live and we find ourselves spending a fair amount of time here. The husband is a Frys-aholic and he always happy to find an excuse to visit there. While I appreciate that Frys has its place in the world, I am not quite as enamored with it as he is. BUT, I am always happy to tag along and go kill time at Ross or the newly-opened Marshall's (!) while he browses his electronic gizmos. Target is, of course, a great place to grab toiletries, cleaning stuff and even groceries. We are not too proud to admit to being fans of Red Robin. And the movie theater at The Landing is a comfortable place to catch the latest multiplex flick. Lots of reasons to go back. My one complaint about The Landing is it so difficult to go between its various "sections." We might park at Fry's and then want to walk over to Target or the Ross. There are actual roads going between the sections, and it is not pedestrian friendly at all. There are not only no crosswalks, it seems to have been designed to specifically discourage walking between the sections. That seems ridiculous. Why should you have to park three or four times just to go to the various stores there when it's so much better for the environment -- and your waistline -- to just park once and move a little? read more

The Landing has absolutely made living in the southlake area much more enjoyable! Since it opened and new businesses are popping up, we keep making excuses to stop in at the Landing and eat and shop. Five Guys is of course an all time favorite, the Rock Pizza is always great, and there are loads of new places we have yet to try. I love that there is a University Bookstore that just opened up, which came in handy for shopping for our UW alum friends for christmas. The roads in/out of the Landing are well designed, easy to get in and out of the area with little congestion. There is plenty of room for pedestrian traffic, but you don't feel like you have to stop every 30 seconds to let people cross. There is always loads of parking in the garage and neighboring lots. I'm really glad they were able to bring a nicer shopping area to Renton, we needed it!! read more

I love the Landing. I come here probably 4 times a week. Mostly to Lowes and Target, but I also love all the restaurants. The movie theatre is really nice to come to as well. I wasn't impressed with this place. Mainly because I couldn't get a space anywhere to park so had to drive back without even checking it out properly. From what I could tell it just seemed to be a ton of big box stores and places to eat mixed with everyday essential type stores. If and when I get back (it's a 27 minute drive) I will update. But seriously driving around for 30 minutes trying to find a space is ridiculous for January! I hate to think what it's like in December. read more

This is one of the newer shopping centers in the greater Seattle area. I'm not quite sure if it qualifies as a mall, but is definitely in line with other similar locations like University Village and Redmond Town Center. There are several key locations like Target, Ross, and Lowe's as we as many other smaller shops and restaurants and a Regal Cinema. There is plenty of parking and lots of pedestrian access throughout and I've seen several buses roll through here that I also see in the downtown areas of both Bellevue and Seattle. read more

It's the university village of the south end minus a lot of high end shops so maybe not like the U Village at all. There seems to be a lot of available real estate so not quite a ghost town, but also not exactly a happening place. There's a movie theater, Target, Red Robin, variety of restaurants (sushi, Thai, wine bar, burgers, sandwiches), and even an LA Fitness. Nice to have Top Pot donut there. Parking is plentiful but apparently there is high theft in the lot near the gym. So be careful though you should always be careful what you leave visibly in your car regardless. Across the street from Boeing, right off I-405 and near Coulon Park/Beach for those warm spring/summer BBQs when you happen to forget to bring something & need to run to the store... plenty of retail stores conveniently located nearby. read more

The Landing is really odd to me. It feels like it's in the middle of nowhere...or that it was built exclusively for Boeing employees since it's right next to the Renton plant. There are tons of stores at The Landing: Target, Petsmart, Ross, Marshalls, etc. Fry's is across the street, which is convenient. There are also lots of places to eat: Jimmy John's, Thai 65, Red Robin, Five Guys, The Rock, etc. On top of that, there is also a Regal Cinema and an LA Fitness. Clearly, there are tons of options, so I go here all the time on my lunch break to run errands, grab food, etc. It's a good spot, but the design and layout of the stores just irk me a bit. The area feels very clean and corporate - it's just kind of weird. It's also spread out in a very strange way. A few of the parking lots are simply too large - there are empty spots in the back and it would be nice to have the buildings closer together instead. Walking in between each area is virtually impossible with the way they designed the roads and the lack of crosswalks. Overall, I'm glad these stores are here, but they could have done a better job with the layout. read more

Has no-one reviewed this place as a whole? Holy cow. I have to say, being out in Renton I can sometimes be a little bitter by the simple fact I am not in Seattle proper. Suburbia has its pluses (cheap rent! apartments that allow giant goofy dogs!) but occasionally you want to play, or have some serious shopping to do, or want some good food, or all of the above. So Im very happy to have the Landing so close to me. It really covers just about anything you could need! Apartments, check. Electronics? You have Frys! (Evil, but check). Need something for your pet? Petsmart is there....not to mention a wide range of restaurants, coffee, wine, an Urgent care center, spas, sports stores, and a movie theater! It is really super convenient here! Each store has their own pluses and minuses certainly, but as a whole I am certainly glad I have this as place to go to at such a close distance. read more

There is ample parking, and for those that would like, apartment complexes so you can be permanently close to these amenities. Their theatre is top notch with good popcorn and comfy seats. There's Fry's Electronics for all your geeky digital toys, a Staples for your office needs, a Petsmart, a Target and several restuarants to choose from including but not limited to: FIve Guys, Thai 65, Red Robin, a greek place, a chinese place, a sandwhich shop and a few other places. This place is an outdoor "mall" spread out over a couple blocks just south of Lake Washington and the Boeing factory, off 405, exit 5. Its fairly convenient if you want to workout, shop, grab dinner, drinks, and catch a flick all in one stop. Due to the layout, its a little inconvenient if you need to visit multiple stores at opposite ends, so most people will park at one then drive to the other, or some folks use mid-block crosswalks (which don't exist)... so watchout! Parking near LA Fitness in the evening usually involved lots of slow driving and dodging gym goers trying to find that small spot for your oversized car. There is more parking available nearby and its still only a 5 min walk to the gym. The number of shops and restaurants have slowly increased over the past 5-6 years or so since the Landing opened. I've been to most of the restaurants here many many times, but none of them are spectacular. With Boeing and Kenworth next door maintaining a constant flow of hungry customers, they don't need to be "good" in order to stay in business. My biggest gripe has to be no full blown grocery store. Supposedly Target's lease agreement prevents another grocery store from opening up in the Landing. The next closest grocery stores are two Safeways and a Fred Meyer, about 2 miles away, and none of which I like going to. read more
