With the business being new, it seems they need to work out a lot of kinks. There were 2 guys working and we waited forever for our order to be taken. The brewery was not busy by any means, with many tables open and a few customers. We saw many large and small sized groups leave, after waiting too long to be served. I loved the Concord grape hard cider and my husband enjoyed his beer as well. We ordered two pizzas that we waited for at least an hour for the order to come out. The honey pizza and Buffalo chicken wood fired pizzas were good. The pepperoni on the honey pizza had very thick pepperoni, which was good, but this made each slice to have 1 or 2 pieces of pepperoni on it. So most bites, all I got was a cheese pizza taste. Maybe cutting the pepperoni slices smaller would've been better. The brewery had tables inside and outside.

This is a new brewery and they're still trying to figure things out , the beer was fantastic I got a cherry wheat and a grumpy old man. I also got the Joe buddy pizza . The service however.. I believe they need to hire some more people especially behind the bar. I saw multiple customers walk out because nobody even came over to them . I was also very confused when I walked in . We sat at the bar for a good 6 minutes before even being greeted. The pizza was delicious and the outside seating is a plus. Please hire someone to stay at the bar .

Beers were good, especially the cherry wit. The pizza is great, thin crust and very tasty. If I lived in Penn Yan, I'd be here often.

A great beer selection, the pizzas were amazing and the service was beyond anything we could have asked for. 100% recommend.

We tried 5 of their pizzas, the whipped feta dip, and 1 dessert pizza they were testing for their menu.

The brewery has a large open lawn with plenty of tables, benches, and a variety of games to keep things lively--cornhole, dice games, a safe plastic axe-throwing game, giant connect four outside and various table games inside. It's a perfect spot to relax and hang out, whether with friends, family, or pets. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially to our dogs (they even brought out free biscuits, which was such a nice touch). We sampled a flight of their beers and tried the chicken & waffle bites were delicious! The food menu is more "munchies style" but everything we had was fresh and tasty, a great complement to the drinks. Stag Brewing combines a fun, laid-back vibe with good beer, good food, and great hospitality. Highly recommend stopping here if you're exploring Seneca Lake or just looking for a relaxed, pet-friendly brewery experience.

4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here. Skip to the end to see my rating scale…read more Climbing Bines was one of seven breweries we visited on our recent trip to the FLX region, specifically Seneca Lake. To be consistent with my rating scale I really had to think hard about this one because there are quite a few good breweries right around Watkins Glen. When I asked myself if I'd be willing to drive 30 minutes to bypass a couple of other breweries to get there the answer was yes - depending on the weather. The tap room has the earthy feel that I find comfortable, it has a really nice outdoor seating areas, and its super dog friendly. Although there are some better beers close by, Climbing Bines gets bonus points from me for the ambiance and scenery. It really is a relaxing and aesthetically pleasing place. Don't get me wrong, the beers are OK, but I'd mostly drive a bit to hang out there for an evening if it's sunny and if there's a food truck. My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

It is big with lots of outdoor space. It has two event spaces (one enclosed) and often has food trucks. The website recommends bringing chairs on the weekend, because they have more space than seating. One thing to note about the beers is that some are made with ingredients from other farms. On the menu, those are marked as "Pando" (I don't remember what that stands for). Wineries in the Finger Lakes region have wine trail markers. I hope the breweries will advocate for something similar. Those markers could help more people discover the growing number of breweries in the Finger Lakes.
