We were looking for a brewery to grab a few drinks after early dinner in Penn Yan. Saw some reviews indicating this is a new spot, so we decided to give it a try. Really happy we did. Family owned and operated brewery. Staff is very friendly. Beer selection is limited to 8 right now, but since they're new, I understand they're still setting up everything. The beers were excellent. Wife had the cider (nice hard cider that wasn't overly sweet). I had the Grumpy Old Man (sour beer) which was really good. I'm a huge fan of a good sour beer and this hit the spot. If you're an IPA fan (wife and I are not), this likely isn't your spot, as they only have one on tap. But if you like a good beer, they definitely have you covered. We got an appetizer of whipped feta dip, which was delicious. They also do pizza, but we didn't have any as we already ate dinner. I'll definitely come back. Great little spot read more

Beer is ok, pizza is great. Bartender was amazing and attentive. I will be back for the pizza alone, the beer is just an added bonus. Some reviews posted complaints about them being short staffed. Lake Life did have a sign out front indicating that they are short staffed, but I didn't notice it. Seemed clean and plenty of employees to handle all of the business. read more

The seltzer and beers were 5/5!! We met the owners, who are a husband and wife combo with their son as our server. The vibes are immaculate here. I definitely recommend this. we had such a good experience in the off season we can't wait to see them full swing during the summer read more

With the business being new, it seems they need to work out a lot of kinks. There were 2 guys working and we waited forever for our order to be taken. The brewery was not busy by any means, with many tables open and a few customers. We saw many large and small sized groups leave, after waiting too long to be served. I loved the Concord grape hard cider and my husband enjoyed his beer as well. We ordered two pizzas that we waited for at least an hour for the order to come out. The honey pizza and Buffalo chicken wood fired pizzas were good. The pepperoni on the honey pizza had very thick pepperoni, which was good, but this made each slice to have 1 or 2 pieces of pepperoni on it. So most bites, all I got was a cheese pizza taste. Maybe cutting the pepperoni slices smaller would've been better. The brewery had tables inside and outside. read more

This is a new brewery and they're still trying to figure things out , the beer was fantastic I got a cherry wheat and a grumpy old man. I also got the Joe buddy pizza . The service however.. I believe they need to hire some more people especially behind the bar. I saw multiple customers walk out because nobody even came over to them . I was also very confused when I walked in . We sat at the bar for a good 6 minutes before even being greeted. The pizza was delicious and the outside seating is a plus. Please hire someone to stay at the bar . read more

We came to this brewery twice on our annual girl's trip because the service was welcoming and the pizzas were amazing. We tried 5 of their pizzas, the whipped feta dip, and 1 dessert pizza they were testing for their menu. There was enough choice of beers to suit everyone's taste. I really enjoyed the pumpkin beer. We were looking for a wine bar. The wine bar was closed but the server assured us they had a good selection of local wine. She was very helpful with wine suggestions. We enjoyed a a Weis Rose and a Weis Cab Franc. They were both delicious. we enjoyed seating on the patio. read more

My wife and I traveled to Penn Yan NY, on Sunday, February 2, 2025 with the intent of trying a new brewery in town called Lake Life Brewery. We arrived just as they opened and with the exception of another couple, we had the place to ourselves. First impression was "gorgeous building", inside and out! Tons of space as well as seating! Very new vibe-very nice! One of the owners was onsite that morning and we learned A LOT about how they came to own and manage a craft brewery. GREAT CONVERSATIONS, with the owner and the other couple! It was pretty obvious-they love what they are doing. The beers! As they are very new and it takes a while to REALLY brew great beers, the beers were good. My wife and I each did a flight. I am a stout/porter guy and the stout with Winter warmer spice was excellent. Nice clean mouthfeel! Was not a fan of a couple of the beers that were sourish, too much for me. But that's more about what I like than the quality of the beer. We ordered a pizza and it came out VERY fast and totally delicious! All-in-all, a great day, great brewery, well worth the trip.
