Pilates has been an absolute life changer for me! A dear friend had been recommending club pilates to me for over two years and I am so sad I didn't listen to her sooner! The Germantown location and staff have been nothing short of attentive, kind, and motivating. As a formerly in excruciating pain-retired Zumba instructor & busy social worker, It was very difficult get back into being active and give myself "me time." Pilates has checked all these boxes on top of helping me tone and I always leave in such a great mood no matter who the instructor is or what time in taking the class. After trying Winnie's intro class I was hooked, signed up for the 4 classes a month package but very quickly upgraded my package! My fiancé also joined the intro class and has also had a great & challenging time in the classes as he primarily lifts! I could go on and on about how fun and amazing the journey has been! I love Club Pilates Germantown! I'm a pretty active person...always on the go, I bike, I rollerblade... then I had a baby! & then I had another one shortly after! Lost the baby weight, but there was that lingering 10lbs and the need to gain muscle and get firmer. All the instructors and classes I have tried are fabulous! Of course, I have my faves... Michele R., Sharon R & Kim! My week seems incomplete if I am not able to come to class. Their classes are awesome and will get me to my ideal body. All the front desk staff are so friendly and helpful, i feel a sense of calm and achievement just walking in that door. Btw, thanks Rachel for a follow up call after my trial session... Place is clean, welcoming, friendly front desk and coaches,you work st your pace and no one makes you feel lazy or stupid when you can't keep up, the excercises are mild but oh so effective! You will sweat which doesn't happen unless I've spent 1hour on the treadmill. Every muscle of your body will be worked on especially your tummy area and arms and thighs! Overall a great experience. I highly recommend for people like me who are obsess. It is a great way to gently break in the fats towards tanning them. They start with a free 39 minute intro class and then the flow1 beginner classes and gradually work you up to the pro classes. For someone like me who is obsessed and have difficulty exercising these instructors led classes gently break in the fats! Trust me you will feel it in every muscle, you don't realize the amount of work done till the next day. I will totally recommend this place especially for people having difficulty exercising it is relaxing and effective at the same time. read more

After taking 800+ classes and over a year later after my first review, I still wholeheartedly recommend going to Club Pilates to get your full body workout. In fact if you only have one day a week to take a class I recommend to do a double and take Jake's Sunday's classic reformer followed by center and balance. As I said previously you will get a complete workout. In the reformer class Jake will work every single one of your muscle group. Your inner thighs' cellulite will magically become firmer and you booty will be so firm and uplifted that it will put J Lo's to shame. Some days he will incorporate the TRX and gets your heart rate up while you are doing planks, bicep curls, and push-ups. Your flab will be crying in pain , in a good way, as they are slowly blasted away. Immediately after the classic reformer, the center and balance class will stretch out those tired muscles to keep them limber. At the start of the class, Jake will ask what hurts and everyone will tell him where they have the most pain. He will then take us thru the moves that will alleviate the pain. My favorite is when he incorporates the trigger point ball and we work out all of the kinks in our butt muscle (I can't remember the scientific name) to help relieve sciatica pain. All of this work will strengthen your core and will give you a straighter posture that will prevent you from being in a walker in your 70s, 80s and into your 90s. In fact we have a few members who are in their 70s who are in such great shape that you would swear they are in their forties. They are clearly still in the prime of their lives. Along with Jake there are other equally talented instructors. There is Kathy who has decades of experience and is the master trainer for all of the up and coming instructors in our area; Cara who has such a dedicated core group of members who take her FIIT and control classes; Abby who is so zen and gentle but equally effective and Rhoda who will correct any balance issue you may have. Overseeing this group is Jan the owner who keeps everyone happy and subs whenever someone is out. Just don't let any of the instructors how hard or intense the others class was or they will level up the intensity (looking at you Cathy and Jan). I encourage you to take a class with every single one of the instructors at the Germantown Club Pilates and you will never get bored since every class will be different and will get to a stronger and healthier you! I took the complimentary introduction class on a Sunday morning with my sister. Club Pilates is located in a shopping center, there is a huge parking lot shared with multiple retailers so parking should not be an issue. The studio is very clean and there is designated shelving for students to place their belongings. It is requested that you remove your shoes and wear grip socks into the studio. The introduction classes last about 30 minutes, some background is discussed on the history of pilates, health benefits and some moves are taught using the equipment inside the studio. The instructor was Jan, she was very friendly and informative. She explained each move clearly and helped students make adjustments throughout class. I liked that she really took the time to explain each move and how it would be included in a class. The introductory class is great to give you an idea what a full class would be like. The staff seems friendly and if this studio weren't so far from home for me I would be back. I came just to check it out since my sister wanted to check it out. I would recommend Club Pilates if you are looking for a friendly workout environment with a low impact workout that tones your body without overexerting yourself :) read more

When I signed up for my Club Pilates membership in February (which was done over the phone) I was told I would be locked into a 3 month membership, which I completed plus an additional month. Come the month of July, I paused my account due to travel instead of canceling the membership which was a $25 hold to be reapplied to my account when it started back up. A couple days after putting the account on hold I had to abruptly relocate and the membership is location based so I would need to cancel. I called the location and informed them of my circumstances in detail but not once was I made aware that I would be charged anything additional when the 30 day holding period ended. Part of the policy for canceling includes doing it 30 days in advance- which I did. But on August 6th, I was charged $204 putting my account in the negative and acquiring fees. This was not an authorized charge. I had been emailing, calling and text as well inquiring about my $25 hold which I wouldn't need to have held anymore because I was not continuing my membership. It would have been good business to be informed of the policy at that point as well. I have spoken to one of the managers. One of them informed me this has happened many times before. I have reached out to my community and many other customers have had this happen to them. The staff is not upfront about their policies and prey on entrapping people into the membership and then adding additional unwarranted costs. I would understand a small fee for leaving or not completing my contract but to charge an additional membership fee for the sole purpose of profit is unconscionable. My only option is to pay or pay even when you do all the correct policies to cancel and complete a contract and on top of that, no benefits of the classes. I have worked for many companies and had many memberships but I have never seen anything like this. The company is not forthcoming with information as well as is fee happy- charging you for anything and everything. When I was looking up reviews and information on how it works for the membership it is hard to find anything so I went to the source and called to inquire before agreeing to my membership but they are trained to not tell you the whole story. Their umbrella company is under an investigation with the SEC and other franchises under them have had similar complaints about their aggressive and misleading sales tactics. read more

I came for a demo class in April and joined a few weeks ago and absolutely love it here. I signed up over the phone and the manager, Trinise, walked me through the process. She was probably the kindest person I have ever spoken to! So helpful and sweet. I've only attended 3 classes so far but already plan on increasing my membership. The classes are a great workout, but also low impact if you have any injuries and there are modifications the instructors will help you with. 10/10!!! read more
