Hoover dam
Sean D.

Definitely a good time and a nice way to spend 90 minutes on the lake...the boat is a two tiered vessel with an indoor seating area that has a small bar where you can order some food and drinks, as well as sit inside and look out of the windows if not inclined to deal with whatever the outside elements may be...the top tier is a fully outdoor deck with about 30 plastic chairs set up to sit on during the tour...the narration throughout is prerecorded but informative nonetheless...you can also stand along the front and rear of the boat as well as the sides...the price definitely isn't cheap, 50 for adults and 25 for kids but seeing how costly it must be to operate I can understand the cost...a lot of employees inside and out that need to be paid...unfortunately the cruise hasn't fully recovered from Covid as they are only running on a minimal schedule, 1 tour a day, 4 days a week...they are hoping to recover and return to a more pre Covid schedule but that remains to be seen...they also used to have a brunch cruise on weekends as well as a sunset dinner cruise, hopefully the future will see the return of those events...all in all a fun day on the lake..:RECOMMEND

Beautiful view

It was a tranquil boat ride. I had hoped to see a bit more than we did. I'm glad we got the locals discount, not too many places even offer that anymore. The staff were inviting and nice. We ordered a drink from the bar and some nachos. The drink was for sure over priced but the nachos were good.

Same from the paddle boat

It was nice and we enjoyed it. It was a great way to see the Hoover dam and the lake. However, highly recommend that they have an area that doesn't have loud blaring rock music. It was ACDC level heavy Rock and there was no escape. At least one area should have a quiet place for people who don't want to hear that. Did enjoy the cruise, at least once

Went here with my husband for a Thursday mid day sightseeing cruise of Hoover Dam. We got there early and browsed in the gift shop. Later bought several souvenirs, shirts, magnet and hat. Staff were friendly and the cruise was very relaxing, we couldn't even tell when we left the dock, it was so smooth! Food onboard was reasonably priced and good, credit cards only for all purchases, but there was a jar on the order counter for cash tips. There were about 20 guests on board and the ship is in need of renovation, but it sailed and the views were beautiful enhanced by the recorded narration played through out the cruise. A/C made it comfortable in the cabin to escape the deck heat and this is well worth the trip to Boulder City

Located in the middle of nowhere, the boat offers the comforts of civilization in a sizzling hot and dry climate. The lunch was basic, and I didn't see any goats on the rock formations. Hoover Dam was impressive. The tour guide was informative, and the scenery of the wet lake and dry rock formations were a great contrast.

A very nice afternoon cruise to Hoover Dam via Lake Mead. Onboard drinks and food are available. The cheeseburgers were fantastic. Friendly service. A wonderful time! Nice little gift shop at the pier. Great views throughout, with pre-recorded informative narrative history onboard.

Want to see water? Eat on a small cruise? Want to know more about Lake Mead or Hoover Dam? Come over here! Or Bring your family! This is the place to visit for lunch and sightseeing. On the ship there's light music. And when the music's not playing there's, a narrator telling the history of the Lake and Hoover Dam. Pretty interesting. There are three tiers where you can hang out. The bottom would be the galley has a little bar. Then second floor and a top deck to catch sun and air and enjoy the view. This is like an hour ride. The food is good. It would be nice if they serve salad. We did the sightseeing tour so I'm sure on other tours like the dinner tour should be different food. Overall, this is cool. I'll be taking friends and family here when they visit me.

what a nice adventure, nice 2 hour dinner cruise, staff was super friendly, calm waters good views, dinner was a choice of Prima Rib Chicken Breast or smoke salmon all included salad, bread and Champagne ( dessert too ) couple things you should know 25$ to get into lake ( not included in package ) about a hour from the Vegas strip and line to get into lake gets backed up and their not in any hurry to get people in, overall great a experience would highly recommended

Beautiful day on lake Mead and a great experience with this cruise. Everyone was friendly and the booking experience was easy online. You can also buy tickets on site. We enjoyed visiting the Lake Mead National Recreation area and the narration on the cruise about the history of the Colorado River, the lake and the Hoover Dam was informative. The bar on board had a wide selection of beverages and snacks/food for purchase. There are two indoor seating areas and an upper deck for outdoor seating. They do have a gift shop at the marina and souvenir pictures for purchase if you're interested, but aren't pushy if you're not.

My partner took me on this cruise on a saturday and I absolutely loved it. The history of the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead is just amazing. We have already gone to the Hoover Dam and Boulder city and this was the last part of learning all the history. The scenery was just beautiful and so peaceful , the tour is only 2 hours and very informational which is perfect if that's what you are looking for. They have several packages even dinner and drinks , we got just the tour and went to the bar for a beer. It's a really nice mini cruise to try out !

Waiting to Board

This was one of the better excursions we did on our visit to Boulder City. I really wanted to visit the Dam and this was a great way to see it from the lakeside. We inadvertently waited until Mother's Day to take the cruise and we were told there were over 200 people on board. We chose a seat inside on the second deck near the bar area at a table. They had a special for the day of a prime rib french dip sandwich with chips. We decided to order that for lunch, and apparently, everyone else on board also ordered food. We really enjoyed the cruise while waiting for our food, and we got lots of photos of the dam and the lake. There was an ongoing narration playing over the speakers to tell you about the history of the area. The food came pretty close to the end of the cruise but faster than some of the others near us. The manager offered us two free drinks to make up for the delayed food order. She also seemed to offer similar deals to the others who were still waiting. I thought it was great that they owned up to their mistake and made good on it. That impressed me and I'd recommend this cruise to others because of it. They could have been jerks and they weren't. The staff and crew were friendly and professional.

We did the Desert Princess Cruz for our anniversary! It was wonderful and might I say romantic! This two hour dinner cruise starts you off with complimentary Champaign, bread and a salad at your assigned table. Your dinner menu is already available at the table and you server will take your order. Your dinner choices are: Chicken, Salmon or medium rare Ribeye. All served with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies! After you have placed your order, you are free to explore the boat. There are 4 levels to this ship. The first 3 are inside dinning with AC and the very top deck is outside. Unfortunately the day we came is was a blistering 117 degrees outside so the top deck was not open for dining, however you could still go up top and enjoy the beautiful scenery for as long as you could last! Once your dinner is ready, the captain will call your deck. We were on the first deck, so we got called relatively fast. Which was perfect because we didn't last long in the blistering sun! We each ordered the prime rib and it was delicious! Cooked perfectly and seasoned well! It was accompanied with an auju sauce and a horseradish cream. It was perfect! We were seated by the window, so even though we didn't last long outside we still were able to enjoy the scenery of the sun setting on a glass lake, beautiful red mountains, delicious meal and of course my handsome date! As the cruise started to head back to dock, we got a small piece of vanilla cake with a strawberry jelly center. It was the perfect way to top off our anniversary!

Gift shop/waiting area before you get on the boat!

We were told that the raft could hold about 32 people, but we were lucky because on tour we had a total of 17, which was nice. We were also given a bag with snacks and a bottle of water, which was great to snack on during the tour. We met our driver at the Hoover Dam lodge. There was a lot of parking available, which made it easy. Our driver was super friendly and very informative. He took us to the raft to meet our tour guide. Our tour guide wasn't welcoming to my husband and I, but as other guests loaded onto the raft, his attitude changed. As we started the tour we stayed at the same spot for 30 minutes. Our guide passed out pictures in sheet protectors and began sharing about the history of the Hoover dam. Throughout the tour, our guide was testing us about our history. We didn't know much of it, that's why we attended the tour to learn. The best part of the tour was us getting out of the raft and landing on a piece of land to touch the water and skip rocks and take more photos. It was nice to see a few mini waterfalls and even a hot spring! I did wished we went deeper into the dam, but I guess that would've been for the longer tour. Also, I wish we could've swam in the lake, but it was very chilly. It was a great experience, however, the initial encounter with our guide was uncomfortable. We learned a lot and the views were amazing.

Best day ever at the Camel Safari! Guided by Adam and Allie-two of the most knowledgeable,…read morefriendly, and genuinely caring people you'll ever meet . This experience was unforgettable from start to finish in their 165 acre property. We kicked off the day with a short ride on Jafar, a stunning, gentle giant weighing nearly 3,000 pounds. ( love at first sight) After taking some amazing photos with him, he happily stayed nearby and spent the rest of the day with us. From there, we met several other camels and hopped on the tram, where more adventures were to be had . Along the way, we encountered so many incredible animals, more camels, a zedonk, llamas, alpacas, and miniature horses. One of the highlights was feeding Thorn, their adorable pet porcupine, grapes she was just the sweetest little girl. We also got to see New Guinea singing dogs (so cute!) and Ambien, their 20-year-old sloth, who was just as amazing to see in person as you'd imagine. Feeding the alpacas and llamas carrots was such a fun, hands-on experience. As if that wasn't enough, four friendly Ridgeback dogs casually joined us on the tram, roaming freely and adding even more charm to the day. Every animal we encountered was gentle, well cared for and clearly loved . I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this experience it was pure joy from beginning to end. If you've never met a camel, Ilama, or alpaca, you're missing out. These gentle creatures will absolutely fill your heart. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon. I didn't want the day to end . This is one adventure you don't want to miss it's truly an overload of joy! "LIVE LIFE WITH LOVE & LAUGHTER" ~PEACE JODY~

First, you NEED to make a reservation before going…read more I never knew we had a ranch with 30 Camels, Alpacas, a Llama, New Guinea Singing Dogs, a Two Toed Sloth, an African Crested Porcupine, a Donkey and a few other animals about an hour outside of Las Vegas. Guy the owner, an amazing bank of knowledge, he knows so much about each animal and more. He is a little rough around the edges and some may think him rude; you try to manage a 176 acre ranch with well over 60 animals who have to be fed daily, not so easy... The Camels have a diet of lettuce, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples; the sloth has a special diet which includes egg whites, the ranch dogs get the yolk as a daily treat and they know when that's coming. So in addition to taking care of all the animals, the ranch which is 176 acres, there are also tours to manage. So show him a little appreciation for what he does every day, seven days a week, etc... You can do camel rides, an ATV experience, a zoo tour on a tram, it's not easy and I feel for him so if you go out there, understand his personality has to be rough to deal with all this. Also understand, each animal has its own personality and feelings. Yesterday, Norm a camel used for rides was having a bad day. He was not in the mood for riders. I first tried to ride Norm, he was calm getting his saddle on but once I got on him, he was nope. When Allie got me off of Norm, Norm had an attitude with both Allie and Guy, Norm had to be put in a kennel which Norm was not happy about but needed a time out. So remember, dealing with 30 camels, mini horses, a Llama, Alpacas, a sloth, etc; they are dealing with a lot of different personalities and feelings in addition to people coming to visit. Safety is taken as a HIGH priority. These animals can inflict pain & even death, so I have a LOT of respect for Guy & Allie. They not only have to be concerned with adults but children as well. We arrived at 8:45 which is when the gate is opened, we met Allie and Guy along with another couple. We rode first and as I said Norm was not happy so I got off and they took my friend around the track. Upon coming back with my friend, a whole group showed up for the zoo tour so we were asked if we minded doing the zoo tour and then we will get back to the camel ride. No biggie... The zoo tour was amazing. We got on the tram and were taken to see every animal on the property stopping in each area, learning all about the animals in that area with the opportunity to ask questions, got to go in the kennel to feed the Llama and Alpacas, cool animals, petted the zebra, fed and petted the porcupine, got up close and personal with the sloth and just had an amazing experience. The knowledge gained yesterday was so cool. Once the zoo tour was over I got to ride Lodi. The camel ride was really cool, long and a really neat experience I would do again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go out and visit this Camel Safari. They need the support as they have a lot of mouths to feed daily and you will have an amazing experience in the Nevada desert.
