I love everything about this farm! The whole concept of farm to your table food is the best! And it's what we need to go back to for our own health! I went there for the market where they sell their chocolate peanut butter made from the farm's ground site peanuts! They also had a BOGO for honey roasted peanut butter. They really strive to keep prices at a good cost. They have a special list of the week when you go in that shows what's BOGO or lowered price. The place is so serene with so much greenery around.. you truly feel rejuvenated just by being there.. they have what they call "Happy hens" and sell the eggs that they lay; along with locally made cheeses, organic potatoes, freshly squeezed orange juice; In the farm, they also have a cow, turkeys, ducks, goats, a pig, and some produce on the other side of the farm. A little background story is in order. We started this year with a few goals. One of them was to stop eating meat and dairy that was produced in CAFO. CAFO is "controlled/confined area feeding operation". It's one of the dirtiest of secrets how we treat the animals we eat before they go to slaughter. I'm not that concerned with organic however. What good is organic if it's shipped 2000 miles with diesels getting 8 miles to gallon or less? We decided two things. The animals must live in an area that we can actually go see them and they must be able to "be" before they go to slaughter. I don't think it's too much to ask to allow an animal to actually get some time wandering around just "being" a cow, pig, chicken, etc. before we kill it and eat it. It also has the potential to eliminate a few million pounds of unsustainable antibiotic use and even more petroleum based fertilizers. Soap box over. What about the food? It's expensive if you're used to buying your meat at Publix or Walmart. Expect to pay at least twice as much. What does that mean? Portion size on protein goes down and veg goes up. Not a bad idea. I find the meats themselves vastly superior to factory farmed meats across the board. The chicken is immediately identifiable as different and better. The game hens on the grill are a revelation! The pork is firmer and way less slimy on the surface and just tastes "porkier". The ground meats don't have that funk that comes off of grocery store ground meats. The sour cream is incredible! The eggs have firmer yolks but beyond that I'm not sure you'd be able to detect the difference over commercial unless they were side by side. Maybe then it's as plain as day but I haven't tried that experiment yet. They also have a very large selection of heritage breed meats, game and cheeses that they don't make. A great deal of local honey as well. This isn't a place for everyone. If you think Walmart's grocery section is the best ever you're not going to like this. I would say the overall cost of that cheaper fare is actually higher. Lake Meadow and places like it aren't getting huge tax breaks to underpay people and pollute at will and just pay the fine. They're small, local and importantly 100% domestic. You can try their meats at few local boutique stores but you'll significantly more. It's worth the drive. Take a cooler and plan on stocking up. They also run some aggressive weekly specials so keep an eye on that and I think you'll agree we need about 10 more similar outlets around the greater Orlando area. read more

Thank you Janene H. for the awesome review. I took my full litter of kids hear for the first time today, and we had a blast. The people at Lake Meadow are some of the nicest folks around. They made my young-uns feel so welcome by inviting them into the chicken house, introducing them to the dogs, giving them cheese sticks to eat while we waited in line at the store, and so much more. They were able to pet animals, take pictures, ask questions, and attempt to communicate with the turkeys by screaming "gobble gobble gobble" at them. The grounds are beautiful and the animals are very well kept. The store is my personal favorite spot here. I have decided that I will buy as much of my food here as I can from now on. They offer a wide variety of fresh vegetables, and fruits, milk, eggs, meats, jams, cheeses, and so much else. Everything is organic, farm raised, cage free, grass fed, etc. Their are no pesticides, no hormones, no MSG, no worm filler, no genetic X-men style mutations, no slime, chlorine, urine or whatever other crap I am convinced super market food is ridden with. In short, this is REAL FOOD. Much of it comes from the farm itself, some looks to be shipped in from other farms equally as impressive. The eggs are ridiculously delicious (though a little pricier, but who cares.) The cheese is legendary, and is priced pretty competitively. The fruits and veggies are top notch. The preserves are amazing, and I'll let you know how the milk and meat is on my next visit. Though the store is pretty small, they are able to sell a lot out of it. There really is no better place to buy your food than the farm it comes from, and few places that offer the excitement a child will have at Lake Meadow Naturals. Oh and the best part, I live less than two minutes away...score. read more

What a great little farm!!! We took the tour with Adam, who was funny, friendly and very informative. The animals looked healthy and well kept. The store on site was fully stocked with all types of organic goodies, from peanut butter to meat. The kids had a blast picking their own eggs from the chicken coop. If you live anywhere near here, but aren't going here regularly, you are truly missing out. My wife and I try to go here at least twice a month, and are never disappointed. Where else can you find farm fresh eggs (you can pick your own if you want), fresh butter, cream cheese, and tons of other items, made right on site. Every time we come here, we walk out with something new to try. Last time, we picked up raw milk, which I have not seen anywhere around here in a long time. They also have this amazing honey butter, which is exactly as it sounds, and tastes as great as you can imagine. Do yourself a favor, and get on over here, you will quickly find out why you see "Lake Meadow Naturals" on a lot of great restaurants dining menus. read more

Lake meadows is a wonderful spot to get local grown produce and organic meats. On Saturdays you can pick your own eggs from their coop, these eggs will last for weeks outside of the refrigerator. You also can buy their fresh eggs in the store. They have a smallish Farm right there with animals and you can walk around and visit them. I'm a little bit country and so is this place. I loved the smell of farm. Chickens running freely and I got to eat breakfast with breathtaking views of green pastures and fresh air. I really enjoyed learning more about the processes used to run this farm and taking a tour of facilities made my day. They have an on-site market where you can purchase anything from farm fresh eggs to meat. I wish that I lived closer to such a gem. Lets face it, you can't have everything you want! read more

Great place to buy fresh eggs! They have a farm store where you can buy eggs, meats, cheeses, honey, and veggies. You do not have to go and pick your eggs from where they are laid, but I imagine that would be a fun trip for kids. I just get my eggs from the farm store. The eggs are about the same price for free range eggs from a grocery store. The veggies are a bit over priced. This place would be a fun for kids and is definitely worth checking out as an adult, too. read more

Happened to be in the area for lunch and stumbled upon the Yelp listing for this place and decided that I would pit stop on the way home. It's a little tough to find, but was a fun detour for the afternoon. It's a quaint little farm, with a shop on site. They do tours during the week - wish they offered them during the weekend, too! The people there are really nice, and while the shop is small, they have a ton of meats and cheeses to offer, plus some other things like fresh yogurt, goat cheese/milk, butter. I'm culinarily challenged, but anyone that's into cooking would really love this place. You can also pick your own eggs, but I couldn't because I had flip flops on (a no no for egg picking). I probably won't go out of my way to go there again, but am going to definitely pick up some Lake Meadows eggs and product whenever I'm shopping the farmers market! read more

Went there this week for the first time. It has a very pleasant pastoral feel. The store and the entire location was very clean and well maintained and the people there are very friendly and super helpful. I even bought some of what has turned out to be the very best yogurt I have ever tasted along with some very tasty jams. I was even able to find bacon with no nitrites/nitrates and raw cheeses. Awesome. So why did I take off 2 stars? Before I begin, let me say that I was raised on a farm. We had chickens, a milk cow, cattle for beef and a horse; so when I look at a farm setting, I see things differently than most people. This isn't bragging. It just is. A tailor sees a suit differently than anyone else because he/she knows what it should look like, how it should hang on the body. If you were trained in it (like working or being raised on a farm) you can't help but see things differently. I removed one point because, when I arrived, I noticed that their chicken coop was entirely too full. In my opinion, they should've had between 1/2-3/4 of the chickens that were in that coop. Most of the chickens were huddled up against the fence obviously (to me) trying to catch a bit of sunshine (which said to me that they didn't get enough of it) when just outside of the coop was an unused pasture. As I looked at the chickens all squished together against the fence, I feared for the chickens in the center of the huddle. I can understand why they don't let them run free - cars are driving up - but many chicken ranchers have a moveable chicken coop, just big enough for them to roost in. It's on wheels, so to speak, (actually moved by a tractor) so that the coop can be moved around every so often so the chickens can scratch around in the grass, their droppings can fertilze that section, the chickens get some much needed sun, and they don't spend their lives like this - all huddled up, squashing one another just trying to catch some sun. And while it is obviously much better than a concrete floor in a commercial building somewhere, I for one don't want to buy my eggs from chickens who do not get to roam freely in the grass for at least 1/2 the day. The second reason is a two parter: Nearly everything was overpriced even for grass fed/organic. But, I'm willing to overpay sometimes because it's local and it's much healthier and their selection is good so this alone was not sufficient for me to remove a star. The other reason I removed the 2nd star is because I purchased their 'GMO free' eggs partly because they're from chickens who are on a farm where they get to roam freely and partly because I expected better nutrition from them. But, when I got home, I decided to make bacon and eggs for supper from the newly purchased bacon and eggs. When I cracked open the eggs, all the yolks were a light yellow, not at all the dark yellow, almost orange color it should have been if they're free range with plenty of good food to eat. The color of the yolk is representative of the amount of iron and other nutrients in the yolk, the darker the color the more nutritious it is. This light yellow color of yolk I've only seen in the white, mass produced eggs from the grocery store. Maybe Lake Meadows needs to surprise inspect the conditions of what they advertise to be pastured chickens' eggs? Please don't think my experience there was poor. It was not. I do recommend this store and I will most likely buy from them again - especially some of their meats and cheeses - but I will not buy their eggs again. I'll source them elsewhere. read more

Amazing place! I have been having hard time finding a farm with "happy chickens" that are not tortured all their lives and then just slaughtered. This place is amazing, you see animals running around freely in their crates. They are very well fed. Produce sold in the store is top quality. I buy my eggs, cheese and poultry there. They always have specials and carry veggies (try their finger potatoes, they are delish). Great place if you are looking for quality meats and eggs. read more

I will soon be taking my grandchildren to see the chickens and animals on the farm. I was very impressed with how clean the facility was and how nice and helpful the staff was too. The best country/farm store around! We've watched it grow from a small side shop to almost a full store now. The owners and staff truly care, their products are natural and wonderful, and we visit at least two or three times per week. Went there to buy live chickens from them mainly because of the good reviews. They asked me to choose the ones i like, then they changed their mind. Later they offered to sell other less quality live chickens; i ended up buying 4 from them and they put the chickens in 2 boxes. I found one of the chickens dead when i opened the box at my home, because it seems that their guy twisted its neck when he dumped it in the box up side down. It was horrible to see the chicken dead that way. Over all bad experience. read more

Lake Meadow Naturals has become a family favorite. I shop there every weekend. Fresh eggs, free range chickens, grass fed beef, organic veggies and fruit.... the list goes on an on.
