Giving four stars for two main reasons. Number one is because of the service manager, Hoyt and my service advisor Alisha. Honestly, looking back on the purchasing process I was not unhappy with my sales rep, but I was unhappy overall with the buying process. They advertise the vehicle for almost 33% less than what they were willing to sell it for. Service did take care of me as I have a service contract and based off my experience there where I genuinely felt like they tried to take care of me, that's the only reason I gave this review I went in for an oil change unfortunately something got bumped a sensor or something and my car was driving. We had been looking to purchase a vehicle for a few weeks. Contacted the dealer regarding new car and got the runaround. I was surprised how they did not follow up, did not return calls or email information promptly. To be fair the used car side was fantastic. Nicolette was very responsive and is the only reason we are giving the dealer a higher review. Back to the new car, we were told that they were extremely busy, which was why there was a delay. When we arrived, there were so many people just standing around, and for the next five hours, the dealer was not that busy. Car buying experiences should not take this long. On February 13, 2026, I brought my 2015 Jeep Cherokee to Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for a routine oil change and North Carolina state inspection. During that visit, the service department mentioned a possible oil leak and suggested the timing covers might be the source, recommending I return later for a diagnostic. After returning from a work trip, I drove the vehicle for approximately five days, totaling only about 25-30 miles. While driving my daughter to daycare, the oil warning light suddenly came on, followed shortly by the battery warning light. The vehicle quickly lost power and the engine shut down completely. The vehicle was towed back to the dealership. When I returned home, there was a large pool of oil in my garage and a visible trail of oil leading down the road where the vehicle stopped, indicating rapid oil loss. After their inspection, the dealership informed me the engine had seized and suggested the cause was prior work done to the oil cooling system that they had "no record of performing." However, the only work ever done was by a certified mechanic in October 2024. The photos provided did not clearly demonstrate that this prior repair caused the failure. My Jeep had over 140,000 miles but was running well and was fully paid off. Because of this incident, I was forced to unexpectedly purchase another vehicle, creating a significant financial burden. Desired Resolution: I am requesting a full review of the February 13 service, documentation supporting the dealership's determination of the leak source, and consideration of an appropriate resolution as it is likely a service error contributed to the engine failure. read more

Over the course of 4 days negotiated a cash price on a used Jeep by phone/text, after visiting the dealership twice to test drive the vehicle. After less than responsive followup by the salesman, we finally agreed on price and I arranged to meet at the dealership in less than two hours to complete the purchase. On my way there I received a text that I might want to wait, since that they were processing a credit application for someone else to potentially buy the vehicle. Said it is their policy not to hold a vehicle, since sometimes people don't show up (I.e, since others don't always honor their word we don't either). Lack of integrity or ethics. If they treat customers this way, on their way to their dealership to complete an agreed transaction with cash in hand, I can't imagine how they treat customers afterwards. $998 Doc fee, they don't want to share the interest rate on your loan quote, they change the price from the advertised price once you start dealing with them. Every unethical practice a car dealership can perform, they hit all of them. Stay clear unless you like giving your money away. Watch some Youtube videos on unethical car dealership practices. I was working with Samuel (salesperson) to purchase a vehicle here and as of the morning of 20 September was in communication about finalizing the price and letting him know that we were on our way to get the vehicle the next day. It is a five hour drive for us, so I rented a car one-way, booked and hotel and paid for a pre-purchase inspection for the car. I was notified by text message from Samuel as we were heading to get the rental car that the car was sold. I asked earlier if we could leave a deposit to make sure the car would be ours after investing this expense and was told that the dealership does not hold cars and cannot accept deposits for used vehicles. I cannot get a refund for the $220 I paid for the pre-purchase inspection and have to lose $150 to cancel the rental car as well. Fortunately the hotel was refundable. I write this in hopes that anyone coming from any significant distance is aware of what can happen engaging in business with this dealership. If you are traveling to get a vehicle, just be aware that there is no guarantee that it will be available when you get there. My advice would be to find a dealership that will either take a deposit or just has integrity and will hold the car if they know you are coming. Also, they have some contract with LoJack that forces you to purchase a subscription and have the device installed for $799 and will NOT remove it. read more

Purchased a brand new 2025 Dodge Ram from this dealership and the car broke down 3 times within 25 days of leaving the lot. It has been in the shop for 22 BUSINESS DAYS and I still have not been paid for my rental, I paid for the car for the month of July and have not had the car and do not get return calls back. Every time I reach out I go to voicemail then someone calls and shmoozes me for a little. But here I am, 30 days later, with NO car and NO idea of what comes next. I just keep getting the run around. Then they moved to a new location after being bought by Park. I needed new tires, and they refused to honor the contract that I had. Saying its new management, yet same dealership name. I recently purchased a 2024 Cherokee and when driving off the lot, my wife was informed the vehicle had only one key fob because the previous owner only turned in one. The salesman went on to explain they sell cars as is. I told him I would not have purchased the car had I known it had only one fob and I was on the hook for the other one. That should have been brought up initially. So, I showed up Monday to get the other fob. I was told, "We don't do those, you have to contact The Key Guys in Gastonia." I did that and he was unable to key the car. The Key Guy said I would have to go back to Jeep. So, back to the dealership. They said, Jeep has a software problem and they are unable to key any 2024 Cherokees, but they are working on it. I have to check back weekly to see if the problem has been fixed. Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram should have known about this and not sold the vehicle with a currently unfixable defect. Very shady business. Planned to drive up from out of town to look at a car that's been there for about five months, with a total of $2500 reduction in price, per Carfax report. Today, an inspection I paid for was done, and coincidentally, the car was sold this am after the inspection. There was no courtesy call, just a text and the salesman, Samuel (unmotivated, not responsive) never responded to texts/calls. Other dealerships will hold the car or at least give first dibs to someone they know is driving from out of town, as that (and the $220 inspection) implies significant intent. Not Lake Norman. And there is no remorse or care from management. And after reading a few other reviews, this seems to be the culture of this dealership. And it would be one thing if they had implemented a new policy to maybe call potential buyers and say hey this car has sold, or if they hold the car for the interested party for a few hours, but it seems like they only write messages under reviews that they have or will implement something when in truth, they will not, as evidenced by the continued issue. Unfortunately, when we got there, the car was not on the lot! apparently two days earlier they drove it to Raleigh for someone else to see. Selling it is not the problem (that happens), the fact that we weren't called or told about this is the issue. No real apologies, plenty of fumbling. Pretty crappy customer service. Updated review: 10/29/24 upon purchasing our Wagoneer we had a few items that were needing to be completed via an "I owe you". These items included repairing the hood that was scratched/dented, repairing a deep scratch on the drivers door, a second key, repairing ripped leather on the rear seat. Also, within a few hours of delivery we noticed that a few features were not working (the heads up display and automatic lights). We dropped the vehicle off for 2 weeks to have the items repaired as the dealership agreed to. Unfortunately, the communication and execution of the agreed repairs was a major failure. We were advised that the HUD display needed to be replaced and the light sensor, they had to order the parts which was understandable. The timeline they gave us about what had been repaired was all over the place. We finally decided to pick the car up until the parts arrived as they had already had the Jeep for 2 weeks. Upon picking it up the body work was supposed to be completed. We discovered that only the hood had been repaired. When we mentioned that the door had not been touched they just reacted with a "whoops". The leather repair looked like someone had just glued it down and was already failing which is unacceptable. Communication has been less than stellar and as of now my faith in the dealership is low. I had high hopes as Seth the salesman was great, but the after-purchase experience to this point has been terrible. They have communicated they will take care of these items, but it is very frustrating that major items were not corrected especially seeing how they had the car for 2 weeks and it already went to the body shop once. The car was also dirty when we picked it up which was unfortunate because you could not see the repairs to the hood well to check for quality. I work in the automotive industry and have dealt with LKN CDJR for many years, so I just assumed the experience would go well. This experience thus far has changed my view of the organization. I will update my review once all items have been corrected. I am a firm believer in transparency and doing the right thing. I hope that we are able to get these items addressed and corrected in a much timelier manner the next time we drop it off. I really hate that our 5 star experience was tarnished. read more

There is reason this dealership has a 2-star review. Honestly, even that is surprising after my visit to this dealership. After leaving straight from work and driving an hour and a half to see a truck listed for sale on Lake Norman CDJR website, my wife and I were informed "the truck is up on a lift at another property" by our salesperson. Then she asked us "If i let you see the truck while its up on a lift, will that tell you what you need to know?" She proceeded to get the sales manager, Tony, because we had driven all that way to see this truck. The sales manager, Tony, came over to tell us, "guys I'm sorry but this truck hasn't been signed off on, yet. Can you come back tomorrow?" I told him I would come back tomorrow if he would agree to hold the truck for us until we got off of work that day. Tonys response was " If someone comes in who has the money, obviously i cant hold it. However, I'll tell you what i will do, I will call you and let you know if anyone purchases the truck before you can get here." This insinuated i didn't have the funds to pay for the truck. side note: I had every intention to purchase the truck outright and on the spot, no financing no trade-in. (I would like to add how our salesperson kept boasting how she had been working there 20 years and kept complaining the entire time we were there that she had so many deals that she was trying to close at once that it was so aggravating that her customers wait until the last minute to come in a purchase a vehicle for tax deductions. it should be none of the salespersons business if the customer is purchasing a vehicle for tax purposes or not.) The sales manager, Tony, and our salesperson, Maggie, could use a little humility. Needless to say, Lake Norman CDJR doesn't need or want my business, your business, or anyone's business. From the time we started driving the vehicle we had problems. 8 times the check engine light has come on. We purchased an extended warranty with the vehicle and all of the repairs that were filed with their warranty company were denied. Ultimately the warranty company cancelled my warranty without even notifying me. I was told by the dealership that I would have to purchase another warranty which covered few miles and years but at the same cost. The dealership agreed to repair the transmission which took over 2 months. When I finally received my Jeep back and test drive it, the check engine light came on again. The dealer took the vehicle back to repair again. After several weeks I picked up my Jeep only for the check engine light to come back on after 4 days of driving it. After being told it'd be a simple look over and diagnosis, we didn't get our vehicle back until three days after drop off. While there, we're told that there is also a recall on a piece of the suspension. It has been 2 months since they've "ordered" the part, and after calling twice now and asking for an update, I'm certain they just don't care. They say they'll look into it and call back promptly, but they don't. Don't walk away from this dealer, run. BEWARE Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has instituted an eight point inspection under their new owners. What this means is they will find at least 3 to 5 things that you will need to do on your car. This could cost from $500-$5000. It has been confirmed that the sales representatives get commission. I took my Jeep in for and oil change and with the extras it cost $877. I took my daughters Jeep in for a NC inspection and it cost me $899 with extras. This week I took my Jeep in and they suggested $3300 in extras on top of the $1100 for the repair. Needless to say I'm taking it someplace else to get a second opinion. I believe in safety and the upkeep of your car, what I do NOT believe in is taking advantage of your loyal customers. I am no longer a face but only $$$$$. read more

When I purchased my Jeep Cherokee, in 2015 in Tennessee, I purchased the bumper to bumper warranty. Recently, I needed some maintenance done to it. It had 135,000 miles on it. I was having new front struts, an alignment, front brakes and a new thermostat. While they were doing these items, the technicians found I needed a front half axle, a new water pump, , new sway bar and bushings. I was scared this would go over what I budgeted for the maintenance. However, David assured me that the majority was covered by my warranty. After all of the work was done, my fluids topped off, 52 point inspection done and my car washed, everything was good. I wound up only having to pay a fraction of what I budgeted, and my car now rides so much better, and I have assurance that the work was done correctly and efficiently. Thank you so very, very much for a job WELL DONE, and keeping me informed every step of the job. I do NOT recommend their service dept at all!! Went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Took 3.5 hours. I had an appointment. Why do I need to wait for those driving up without an appointment??! I also had them replace the wipers as well. They cracked my windshield during the process. I have to drop it off Monday for a new windshield. Then on the way home my differential light keeps flashing. See the picture below. I call them and they tell me it isn't anything they did. They said I could bring today (Friday) but I won't get it back until Monday. Well it wasn't flashing until they touched it. I received a recall notice on my Dodge Journey. Called this dealership and was told to bring the car in so they could be sure they were ordering the correct recall parts. I did this and they took all my info and I was told it would take about a week to get the parts and that they would call me. Weeks went by but no calls. This was in June. When I called to find out the status I was told that they showed no record of my being there even though I told them who I spoke with and when. I have been texting at least 10 times since then with the apparent service manager who was always supposed to be working on it. At the end of November I received a postcard notice from Dodge Corporation about why I had not done the recall. I sent a pic of this notice to the same person with whom I have been texting for months. I never even got the courtesy of a reply this time. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. The check engine light came on my jeep grand Cherokee, I took it in for them to fix the problem. They told me there's a $129 diagnostic fee which all dealerships have. I asked if the fee would be waved if I had the work done there. I was told yes. After getting the quote back I approved the cost and the work. When I went to check out it was $129 more than the quote I received online. I was told the diagnostic fee was included with the repair and not free if they did the work.
