You killed a great campground! North Pole Resorts was a fun place to stay and had the same staff year after year. Now no pools no cable no resort side just a big mess ..

We chose to come here for to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. The camp grounds is nice and very big. There are many sites to chose from. We ended up staying in a glamping tent. The glamping tent was nice and functional for what we needed. We enjoyed our site and it was nice and private. In the tent there are 3 rooms. The first room is the living room with a couch, built in end table with a lamp, a keurig coffee machine with 2 disposable cups and 4 different coffees to chose from, a broom, trash bin and a large cubby shelf. The next room is the master bedroom, there is 2 small end table, an alarm clock, 2 book likes and one overhead light, a large queen bed? With 4 pillows/a blanket/sheets, a trash bin, a shelf with a basket of two towels and some washcloths, and a mirror. In the other room there is 3 beds in a bunk bed style with a tiny table, 3 books lights, several wall hooks, a few more towels & wash cloths and a small closet structure with a few hangers. The two bedrooms close with a bike lock but the living room area does not have a way to lock. The tent can be open or kept closed. On the deck there is a picnic table and also at the site there is another picnic table, a propane grill, a fire pit with a metal grate as needed for cooking and 4 Adirondack chairs. We stayed at site GT-2. GT-1 is right next to our site but they are closer to the bathroom. I would suggest trying to get site 5 or 6, they are a little bit father from the bathroom but they have a view the the river from their sites. Within close walking distance to the glamp tent there is a bathroom structure with 4 single stalls with a toilet, sink, towel rack/ sitting area and a shower; there is also a space heater for cold days, shower doesn't get that cold. Bear the bathroom there is also a sink to do dishes that's out side. There is also pottable water at the glamp tent and there are outlets inside. The camp grounds: the grounds are huge. There is a walking trail on the river that leads to a waterfall. There is a dog walk that leads to a fenced dog park. There is a pool, small gift shop, main lodge area, two play grounds, and a game room. Hope this review helps! FYI: if you look at the map the two glamping tents GT-1 and GT-2 are actually placed wrong on the map. They are in the spot opposite where they are on the map so they are actually much more private then it looks.

Stayed in a cabin during the winter holiday season. It was new, very clean, the beds were comfortable and the sheets were white and crisp. The comforter was wrapped in two sheets and maybe a duvet cover would have been more appropriate, but it didn't impact our stay. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it a day! A great price - we will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely loved this KOA. When we first arrived to this campsite they were very organized, and escorted you to your campsite. They allowed you to get settled in before going in and checking in. The sites were huge and a lot of area. They had a lot of activities for families (pool, mini golf, snack shack, basketball court, dog walk, recreation game room). It has a little gem behind the campsite where you can walk to a waterfall and swim hole. Great place to relax. Close within 15 minutes of hiking, lake placid, and great restaurants. We didn't want to leave. If you don't have a camper they also have great cabins that you can stay in. We will definitely be back! We loved it here.

    Weekend Away

What a great weekend! Check in and out was a breeze, it started with a quick in and out of the office with a free WiFi code and an escort to our cabin. The accommodations were perfect. Spacious and clean with all the amenities including our own deck, grill, and outdoor fire place. I highly recommend staying here. Jay Mountain trailhead, Cobble Lookout, and Catamount just minutes away if your into hiking and Whiteface is just down the road.

We had the privilege of staying in the 100 Acres section of the campground for a few nights in July and loved everything about our stay. The campground consists of two sections; the Resort section and the 100 Acre woods section (just 50 yards down the road). The resort section is located near the office and is a nice, more open, but spacious RV camping area. The 100-acre section is a wooded campground beautifully arranged and maintained. We stayed in the 100 Acres area and were very impressed with the layout of the sites, which were staggered/angled to put the most space between each site. We felt very secluded even though there were other sites around us. Our site was level, spotlessly clean and manicured, and had good water pressure and hookups. The combination restrooms/bathrooms were clean and conveyed a sense of regular maintenance being provided to them. Customer service is top notch and the staff prides themselves on welcoming guests as family. We overheard a current employee talking to a new employee stating that even if the campsite wasn't used prior to a new guest arriving, they always do a thorough check of the site to ensure everything is perfect! This impressed us and aligned with the overall sense of pride shown at NP campground. The camp store is probably one of the best stocked stores we have visited. Additionally, they had growler fills from 3 craft beers of tap right in the camp store!! We loved our stay at North Pole Resorts, which raised the bar pretty high for other campgrounds to live up to!

There is not one draw-back that l can think of here. It has epic beauty. The trees and forests with lake views are magnificent. Everything is sanitary. Park at Kill Kare State Park and take the Island Runner to Burton Island, about a 10 minute ride. The ferry crew help to load your items onto the boat and you can pay $10 to have it delivered to your site.  Upon boarding the ferry, crew member Morgan welcomed us and gave us an overview of the Island and how everything worked. She recommended alternative swimming areas and prime sunset viewing spots. Morgan remembered us on our way back a few days later. She really made our visit that much more memorable, and the rest of the staff were super friendly as well. The island is equipped with showers & bathrooms (don't forget quarters!), trash & recycling recepticals, water spickets, kayak & canoe rentals, and weekly nature/survival lessons for kids. There are a few hiking trails and even some secret spots where you can post up and hang on the water for the day.   They offer traditional tent sites and lean-tos - some of which are right on the water. We plan to book one of these next time. Wood is available for purchase but be sure to ask for dry wood depending on recent weather conditions. The best spot about BI is the store, which is stocked with pretty much everything camping-related: beer & wine, drinks, snacks, ice, souveniers, etc. The store has a small kitchen with a grill and they make sandwiches and sides cooked to order. All of it is reasonably priced, and they accept credit/debit cards. Overall this experience was a very unique one but extremely rewarding. I highly recommend visiting Burton Island!!!
