The main thing this place has going for it is the location and the view of Lake Powell. The scenery is beautiful and the staff we interacted with were genuinely friendly. Check-in felt a bit like standing in a slow car rental line. We waited about 15 minutes while a line formed behind us, and there was a form with disclaimers to sign before getting the room key. Our room was in Building 7. The rooms feel dated, and housekeeping seemed inconsistent. We had 2 bath towels, 2 makeup towels, and 1 hand towel, but no washcloths and no pool towels. The front desk said pool towels should be in the room, but there are none available at the pool itself. Our bathtub drain was clogged, so water pooled during showers, and one of the bed frames had something unpleasant on the fabric that clearly should have been cleaned. Amenities were also disappointing for a property charging a nightly resort fee. The hot tub jets were broken, the water wasn't warm, and it looked pretty dirty. The pools are not heated, so they were ice cold in April. Ironically, the hot tub appeared to finally start working the morning we checked out. Food options on site include the Driftwood Lounge, a breakfast deli, and the Rainbow Room for buffet and dinner (reservations required for dinner). The buffet was just okay -- next time I'd skip it and order an entrée instead. The hot & spicy wings at the lounge were decent. Overall, I gave it 3 stars because the staff were very kind and the views are fantastic. If we stayed again, we'd come with the expectation of enjoying the scenery rather than the amenities. read more

Underwhelming to say the least. We decided to spend a couple of nights here as we transitioned from our epic Route 66 journey to traversing from Santa Monica to central Colorado. We had an excursion to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend and wanted a relaxing place to recharge after all the miles. Great thought...okay place. It was a nice sized room. Too much noise from upper room and hallway. The front desk folks need some hospitality training. I'm sorry you're busy but give each customer a bit of hospitality and common courtesy. I'm sure if this was our only destination and we took advantage of some of the on site offerings, it might have been different. As it was, we were just there to sleep and would have been better off at a chain hotel. read more

This place is all on your perspective. They should not call this a resort it should just be called lodging. This place is not great and it's not bad. It's just OK at this. The views and access to the marina is amazing, but the facility itself is subpar at best . The rooms are dated and you receive the bare minimum with towels and amenities. We had a problem with ants in our room which really takes the resort feel away . The restaurants are great and the staff is amazing I just wish more effort was put into the rooms . I feel like the owners of the resort feel like Hey why spend more money making the place nice when there's no other competition near by . Well. This is a lead story into sharing our family experience with a week on a houseboat on the lake!!! This motel, is just average and following the write up below and stunning pictures of our truly amazing trip is worth it! So let's get started: Did this trip in 2018. Family consensus then was "the best family adventure ever made!" Time to recreate in late October, 2025 About the boats: Houseboat is 60' x 18'. Two decks. Four staterooms. Two full bathrooms. Luxury kitchen and living quarters. Sleeps up to 12. Ideal for big family or two. Also rented a 21' runabout in order to get to the smaller areas of the Lake. Great idea!! Requirements: This is a "big ass boat" with twin engines and dual throttles. Max speed = 10 knots. I'm an experienced Captain and pilot and have had to deal with a few incidents. It takes a pilot, navigator (me or my Son) to handle this while Mom putts around the kitchen and settles us in. Provisions need to be shopped for prior to boarding. A week's worth of groceries and beverages. Plan ahead. The Marina staff is super in getting you loaded and ready for departure. The staff gives you a 45 minute orientation on how to run the boat. If you're not experienced, rent a smaller boat... lol. Not. Off we went, charts and downloaded app in hand. Talked to the staff about where to end up, heights of the water level, fishing spots, etc. Very helpful and worth the $50 I slid him as a tip for the tips! Boat has self contained generator for nighttime use. Inverters for the days. Don't overpack on clothes... you're on a boat! Not seeing anyone else for a while Take tons of pictures. Our new IPhones worked out great. No internet or TV. We brought along a Starlink as Mom and Son have business activities... worked out great So much more to share, but... Booked an "upgraded" king room six months in advance and still ended up disappointed from the moment we arrived. Checked in at 11 AM and were told to come back at 2. Returned at 2 to a long reception line, only to be given a room with two queen beds because the king rooms were somehow "sold out." It got worse. We opened the assigned room door and found previous guests inside--completely unacceptable. Turns out reception mixed up the room number. After hauling luggage up to the second floor and back down again, it took three attempts and about 1.5 hours just to get checked in properly. As for the hotel itself: outdated, strong Clorox smell throughout the corridors and room, and visible trash in common areas like the hallway and even the gym. The only redeeming factor is the view of Powell Lake--but it's nowhere near enough to make up for the disorganization and poor conditions. read more

Such a shame for a resort at a beautiful prime location. We hang out more outside the hotel than the inside. It was a worn off building with horrible rooms. However surprisingly, the garden landscaping and the dining room are awesome. Food is great as well and below typical "resort price". There is where the 2 stars go. The room has a great view since we booked the lake view room, the other side faces the parking lot. Inside the room smells dirty and smoggy, sink and tub looks dirty, I had to wipe everything down. Even at the lobby, we smelled sewer. The corridors that lead to the room also look worn out and moldy. Ceilings were so low that I can almost touch it. I am not tall at all. If you're assigned to stay in room L450, please ask to change rooms immediately. We had a nightmare experience staying at Lake Powell Resort after being assigned this room. As soon as we entered, we noticed the air conditioner was blasting on full -- which was odd. The mattress was completely worn out and collapsed. And worst of all, you don't even need to set an alarm for a wake-up call because you'll be woken up by the awful, sewer-like smell. I'm not kidding -- we were literally woken up by that nasty smell in the morning. I rushed to the front desk for help and requested a room change, and their response truly shocked me. The staff told me, 'This is a known issue, and I have no idea why they assigned that room to a guest!' WHAT?! On top of that, the water pressure was so bad, barely any water came out if you tried to take a shower during peak times. One star for this experience. Fortunately, the manager got involved that afternoon and immediately moved us to a different room. She handled the situation professionally, which I appreciated. read more

Let me start by saying the view from our room was stellar. That's where the pros stop. Our hotel room was filthy and the lack of maintenance was evident. 2 queen beds, seemingly will sleep 4. 2 chairs on a very large patio and no table. There was a toy truck under the bed. There is a platform so it wasn't that far under. If I saw it, why didn't housekeeping? Copper sinks were so gross. There was toothpaste, not mine. No one has cleaned around the sink or faucet in who knows when. A light was out over the sink. There was make up, also not mine on a towel. The towel was refolded to hide it inside. There was a who knows what splatter on the side of the tub, adjacent to the toilet. Something was also splattered on the door to the adjoining room. There is a Keurig coffee pot. I ran just water through it several times because I had no idea how gross it might be. There are no cups in the bathroom, and at the coffee station they are paper. We ended up buying cups in the gift shop and red Solo cups at a store. There is NO elevator to the 2nd floor. There was a wadded up tissue and a Q-tip laying on the steps for FOUR days! The ice machine was filthy! Our ice bucket had no plastic bag in it. Fortunately, I brought zip top bags with me. We didn't request a new room because, frankly the view and our friends were staying in the adjoining room. I ended up cleaning most of it up. We did not request room service, because honestly, what good would it have done? Our friends wanted the room cleaned. They didn't realize you need to call to ask for the service. It's called "overnight service". Honestly, management should be embarrassed. Check your room before you commit! read more

It doesn't have the prettiest lake view, as you look at a bunch of houseboats. the people who work here are nice and professional. but this place is severely limited. no room service; too far for any delivery; limited staff; all amenities except the cafe closed either early or for the season. none of that is their fault. but it still stinks from my end. check in time is late (4pm) and they don't easily make exceptions. We had a tour starting at 4 yesterday and asked if we could check in at 330. No was the reply. So we checked in at 830, when almost everything in the property is closed. And you're 15-20 minutes from anything here. Even though I asked for a first floor room in my booking, we got a 2nd floor room with no elevator. my bag was left in the car, and i just took out what i needed. shame on me for overpacking. the cafe place was fine for a late dinner last night. it was the best part of this place. i would not come here again. read more

Whatever you do, don't drive out of your way to stay at this place. Even though the hotel has half empty the night before, they won't let you check in until 4pm!!! They call it a resort with no customer service whatsoever. When asked if we could pay extra for early check in, we were told they are short staffed for housekeeping and no rooms are available when parking lot was empty. Calling this place a "resort" is a stretch. My husband and I booked Lake Powell Resort expecting a relaxing stay with beautiful lake views and convenient access to the marina -- instead, it felt more like a glorified motel with a good view and very little else. Let's start at check-in. We arrived at 3:00 PM "Utah time," which is technically 2:00 PM Arizona time. Check-in wasn't until 4:00 PM, which we understood, but when we asked if we could just be fully checked in and return at 4:00 to get into our room, they refused to give us a key. We had to come back -- and when we did, at 4:05 PM, we were stuck in a long line with everyone else. It was unnecessary and avoidable. The room (lake view): It was 98 degrees inside. The building had no A/C running in the halls or rooms prior to guest arrival -- in the desert! The tiny wall unit took until 2 AM to cool the room to a tolerable level. The tub had no drain plug, and the one coffee filter provided was decaf, with no cream or sugar. When we called to ask for regular coffee and condiments, we were told, "We don't have anyone to bring it, but you can come get it." Resort? Not even close. The marina situation: This was the entire reason we booked this location -- for the convenience of renting a boat or jet ski. We had called weeks before to ask about rentals, and the response was vague and dismissive: "It's first come, first serve, but you probably won't get one." We called again the day before our arrival and got the same attitude: "You can try, but you'd be lucky." Zero effort to be helpful or professional. It felt like they didn't even want guests to try. The few bright spots: The lake view from our room was truly beautiful. The pool was clean and refreshing. The restaurant staff at the Rainbow Room were friendly and helpful -- easily the best part of the stay. Final verdict: We wouldn't stay here again. For the price and the "resort" label, the experience was frustrating and underwhelming. If you're visiting Lake Powell, I'd recommend staying in the town of Page. There are hotels with great views, better service, and you're still just minutes from the marina. read more

Went in the off season! So the stores and gas station on the property was closed. The property is beautiful, rooms have some wear and tear . Only Luke warm water in the shower! Was told we have a lake view which was more of a partial view only because the pool was obstructing the view! So I don't recommend room 700. read more

To top it off, the room was DISGUSTING (see pics). No way was I going to sleep there! Much to my disgust, I was OVER this place. I immediately started looking for another hotel and demand a refund. There were so many unhappy people in the lobby still trying to get checked in. The hotel staff claimed over booked hotel. Pros: Beautiful stunning scenery, comfortable beds, Driftwood lounge dinner and drinks, Boat rental and a fun day on the lake, our excellent boat guide, Jeep("like the car"), who got us going in the boat and gas Jockey extraordinaire, Ming who helped fuel us up were both lovely and kind. Adam was helpful and friendly when he gave us a lift back to our car later that day. Michael our waiter in the Rainbow room was excellent and very friendly. Cons: The room was basic. When booking the trip we paid for a King view room and upon check in we were told the view was of the parking lot. We had them change it to a double queen to get a lake view. Check in was inefficient and took quite some time. Boat rental check in took about 45 minutes. Had dinner the second night at the Rainbow room, the hostess appeared stressed and was having difficulty with her laptop. We waited for our reserved table for a bit too long. Had the Pork dish and was disappointed in the flavors and the texture of the slaw. Buffet breakfast the next morning for $15 each was not close to being worth the price. The scrambled eggs were overdone and dry, the sausage was close to jerky it was so chewy, the danish seemed a bit stale. The Omelette station was a highlight. We didn't realize it was there at first. Verdict: It was a beautiful place to stay, could use some updating, of the rooms and the menu. It wasn't a knock your socks off resort though it was good enough to be in that gorgeous spot. Sheets don't feel clean and crisp have a slight dirty hair smell. Not enough towels for 2 people 2 days. The towels are rough, ragged on the ends very used grey color. Wash cloth was black stained. This resort sits in a nice secluded section near Lake Powell with some amazing views throughout the day and sunsets. When checking it, It was as I expected with nice informative staff that shared details about the property... ie restaurants (Driftwood/Rainbow Room) and the best times to come. Not sure if we had a newly renovated room that others have mentioned, but our room did have a nice view. Older furniture and the dry air made enjoying the room very hard. 1st time I had to look online to figure out how to create moisture via the A/C as we were all "dry coughing"... and yes, we live in Arizona!!! If you're wondering how, soak a towel & hang it over the ironing board to help. That was key for us to get through the nights. It's dated, but in the mix of making changes. The Pool was nice and relaxing and the Pool bar was just getting setup to support so it was very limited. Again, we weren't here for the room, more the views, the Lake, and other great "tourist" spots ie... Horseshoe Bend & Antelope Canyon. Keep that in mind when traveling that you will need to pay a National Parks fee given it's location. read more

We stayed at Lake Powell Hotel this past weekend and while we enjoyed the restaurant and the lounge staff (special shoutout to Mike!), the room was a nightmare due to an ant infestation. The first night, we noticed a few ants, but by the next day, they were everywhere--coming from the sink, tub, and even on the bed and pillows. We had no food out, and despite sealing everything, our snack bag was completely covered. We had to throw out food and constantly shake out our clothes. The kids were afraid to sleep because ants kept appearing in the bed. When we mentioned it to the front desk, we were told ants were a known issue in all rooms. At checkout, we got a discount but no real resolution. We couldn't speak to a manager or supervisor in person, which seemed odd for a busy weekend. Overall, we were disappointed and would've camped nearby had we known the conditions. read more

This place does not even deserve one star. Upon arrival we were told both pools were out of order and they were not certain when it would be repaired. We expressed our disappointment and asked for a discount. We were told by the front desk clerk that "s**t happens." Also, And I quote, "if you're that hot, go to your room, take a cold shower, and have a few cocktails at the bar." Not exactly an intelligent suggestion to someone who's been sober since 1987. I asked to speak to the manager who was in the back office but she would not come out to talk to us. Again the front desk clerk dismissed me with the comment "we're not charging you the resort fee of $16." Since a resort fee was never included in the amount listed on the initial online reservation amount, that was an outright lie to try to placate me. By the way, we did try to make reservations at another hotel but nothing else was available at such late notice. The room was disgusting. Not a little but very much so. The room's furniture was old and scratched; the white towels had a grey tinge to them; the floor of the tub was so unstable that standing in the tub to take a shower felt like I was going to crack it and fall through; the security for the patio door consisted of a bar held together by a wobbly screw that barely made the connection. My credit card bill lists the Wahweap Lodge not the Lake Powell Resort and Marina. Whatever they call themselves, the entire establishment is pitiful. The lobby is beautiful but the rooms are below minimum standard and the staff at check-in was unprofessional and rude. They should be ashamed of themselves for the incompetent and rude staff and misrepresenting the rooms and services. read more

This resort is old and worn. The air condition unit made horrible noises and did not cool the room appropriately. The resort itself is hopping- right on the lake with a restaurant , bar, pool and coffee shop. However, rooms are very old and dated and worn. A friend mentioned this hotel to us because the original spot he went to for Glamping was closed till 2022. It would have been so amazing to have slept in a tent gazing at the stars in the desert but we think because it's so cold when we visited that they close down till Spring of next year when it starts to warm up again. This hotel is a great location if you plan to visit Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. It's very close to both and has an gorgeous view of the lake when you're driving to the hotel. Location and views from Glen Canyon are 5 stars. Here's some things you should know before booking: - like all hotels, they put a hold of money on your credit card for incidentals. For this particular hotel, it's $250. No biggie and standard procedure but I wanted to mention to those who might not know. - the rooms are dated and need some TLC. They still have popcorn ceilings and some walls have bricks exposed vs all walls being dry wall. - there is 2 floors but they do not have elevators. - the lake view isn't really a lake view. You can see some lake from your room if you book the lake view but it's more of a partial lake view. - parking is NOT FREE!! They say it is but when you arrive, you have pay the booth $30 to enter. On the site it says that parking is free BUT because the resort is on National Park property, you're forced to pay the park $30! - clocks in rooms have the wrong time so don't trust them. - TV doesn't just work off the bat. You have to play with it a bit to get it working properly. - bathroom door was extremely difficult to open and close as it's touching the floor. - we noticed flies in the room at night. - lights are different color bulbs in room. - smoke detector looks older than I am. Hopefully it's still working. - curtains were stained. - front desk workers are hard to get ahold of. They are in the back office and there's no bell. You need to call out to them for awhile before being acknowledged. I had this problem for check out. - customer service isn't that great. Location as mentioned is very good. Per one of the staff members, a lot of the places surrounding the resort in Page are Airbnb's. From what we saw driving to the resort, that might be something you want to consider. The city of Page is a cute little town that we adore. If you go the Airbnb route, most likely a newer place to stay in, probably a better price and you won't have to pay $30 to get to the resort to park for "free." Too bad we couldn't go glamping. That would have been a fun experience. Still, without staying here, we wouldn't have visited Glen Canyon. read more

Had such a great Vacation at Lake Powell Resort! Rooms are a little older, but it adds a charm. Staff were all so wonderful and helpful during our stay! To the front desk checking us in/out, and requesting pool towels, also every staff you pass by said hello with a smile. Haley, Mike, and Jeremiah were all so awesome at the Driftwood Lounge also the host on Monday night was so nice! We felt like locals. Would definitely be back for the location and relaxation! The good is the view, great views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The grounds are ok as well. The room is decently sized. Unfortunately things fell apart in a lot of other areas. We had two rooms with two beds, in each room only one bed was properly made with a fitted sheet, flat sheet, comforter and top sheet. The other beds were missing their flat sheet and a stain was noted on one of the comforters. Ew. Calling the front desk was useless, no answer. Ended up having to get sheets myself from the front desk and make the beds myself, just what you want to be doing on vacation! No towels at the pool, another trek to the front desk. Not enough towels in the room for showers for the occupancy we had. Another trek to the front desk. When asked why they didn't answer the phone when called they sheepishly admitted they had silenced the phone but then "fixed it" so if I needed anything else they would answer when I called. What a joke. Stay for the location but set your expectations low for everything else. read more

This place needs work. We checked in and the staff was grumpy and slow. They put us in a room with 2 beds when we reserved a room with a king bed. The room was so run down and filthy, I've never seen anything like it in my time traveling. Crusty carpet, door knobs falling off, rusted door hinges, broken bed, dusty, no hair dryer, no phone, soap dispensers don't work, just to name a few things! We requested a new room with the proper accommodations. Caley was very helpful and got us in a new room with a king sized bed. It was in much better condition, but still very run down and not up to par for a place that calls themselves a resort. More like a motel with a nice pool. The food was not good and kind of weird. Wings tasted microwaved and fatty. Salad had hardly any chicken and strange choice of olives in it. Drinks were just ok. A lil on the sour side and kind of generic for a resort. Staff at the coffee shop was snappy and rude. Staff at the restaurant and bar were nice but had no sense of urgency. Overall I'm very disappointed in our experience here. Will not be back. read more

This is crazy because I NEVER write reviews (well maybe once or twice to get some kind of discount lol), I literally have this account because I like to read reviews.....but I felt like I needed to write this. For our anniversary, I planned a surprise trip for my partner and I to fly into Vegas to take a mini road trip to some National Parks and the one thing that excited me the most was to see the breath taking view of Lake Powell and what this resort had to offer. So I immediately booked a Deluxe View Room with two Queen beds because we usually like to have two beds and in the pictures posted on Orbitz and on the actual website- the view was stunning and absolutely gorgeous. Our reservation was December 28-December 30, after a long day at Zion, we finally arrived to Lake Powell Resort approximately 7 pm on December 28, 2024. We were told by the front desk agent that the hotel was completely sold out and all they had left was one King Bed room but it should still have a view. So I was cool about it and was like oh okay it's for sure a full view right? (I just wanted my anniversary to be perfect, and I was hoping that when we wake up to see the sunrise my partner can see the view and be mesmerized) The front desk was like "yes." When we arrived to our room we noticed that we're on the ground floor and the pool with trees are in front of us, so we called and asked if it's for sure a room with a view, I mean of course it's dark so we can't see anything but we just wanted to make sure before we settle in. She said yes but if we want they can switch us out to the room that we actually book the next morning. We were satisfied with that response so we were like okay great thanks! We woke up the next morning, and just what we expected we couldn't see the view so we had to walk out to the front of the pool to be able to see the view that we longed for like in the pictures, we weren't mad we were just mesmerized because it's beautiful! Plus we thought that the hotel was going to take care of us. We called in the morning approx 7:30 AM and spoke to a gentleman and he was so nice about it and promised that a room with two queen beds with a view will be available later on he said he will have to call back during check in time and he will call our cell phone on file, and he was nice enough to offer a $40 partial credit since we spent 1 out of 2 nights in a room that we did not book. We accepted that offer. And we repeatedly confirmed, $40? he said yes. We were cool with this and we went on with our day because we had a tour at the Antelope Canyon anyways and we had a blast. We came back and it was around 3pm, we still haven't heard anything from them. We literally wasted a whole day already and wanted to come back to our hotel room and want to just enjoy our last night with the view we paid for. So we called the front desk again, this time a female lady answered and she said well the room we are currently in is a room with a view supposedly, but it's handicap accessible, but she ALSO agreed that we have an obstructed view due to the pool and trees between us and the view of the lake.....so she told us to pack up and meet by the pool to retrieve our new room key. We then confirmed with her about the $40 partial credit if it was processed, she said yes he did process that earlier. And please note we confirmed 3 times that it was 40 DOLLARS, NOT PERCENT, DOLLARS. We finally made it to the room we booked with two queen beds and the view upstairs was OUT OF THIS WORLD. IT WAS beautiful. made me forget everything that's been going on and it was worth waiting for even though.....we only had like 3 hours of the day left to enjoy this view....... The next day we checked out and we felt like even though the time we had in the correct room was short but the hotel made it right and we had the view and we were happy so we left to go hiking at Zion National Park once more. That is when I chat with orbitz, and asked them if the $40 credit was processed. First off, they called Lake Powell Resort just to find out they didn't process the credit yet, but they lied and said it was 40% percent of the resort fee only.....which equal 7 dollars, when my total for two nights was almost 470? So you will refund me 7 dollars for the inconvenience you have caused....? And we repeatedly confirmed verbally with the hotel staff that it was 40 dollars, not percentage. I thought Lake Powell took care of us and turned the whole situation around.....I am deeply disappointed. So stay here if you want to see a gorgeous view because it's worth it, but don't stay here for the people or for the service. And I hope that you get the room you paid for if you book the deluxe view with two queens, I really hope that in the future people will be treated better than how we were treated during these three days. Our trip was supposed to be a 7 days of exciting fun filled adventures to celebrate our anniversary, Lake Powell Resort ruined it. Thank you. read more

I see a lot of negative reviews due to the quality of the rooms, so yeah, I guess don't stay here if you're only used to the finest, most luxurious of everything. Also don't stay here if you don't want a view of beautiful Lake Powell. Yes, you get popcorn ceiling and some other indications that this place is a little dated, but it's clean, it's very reasonably priced, and you can have a room with a balcony view of the lake! Staff is friendly and grounds are kept up nicely. We're happy we chose this place for our one night stop over. We watched the sunset from our balcony and then took in the stars. Nice and peaceful, no complaints! read more

This place sucks. Room wasn't available at check-in, a ton of people waiting, no apology, nothing offered(late check-out, breakfast vouchers, etc.) Overall, poor customer service straight from the get go. And don't go blaming COVID, it's been 4 years at this point. No excuses for poor service. The television in the room is not a smart TV. Even though that's the industry standard, but I'll live. I have no idea why, but the lock on the bathroom door is on the outside of the door. Make it make sense. Clearly this property is a NOT a priority for whoever owns it. Let me start by saying that I read the reviews prior to staying here. They've made some big changes to the staff here recently...in a great way! Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The views from the room, pools (2 nice pools) and restaurant (2 of them) are AMAZING. The rooms are a bit outdated but I didn't come here to stay in the room. Located right on the water at Wahweap and 1 mile from the boat rental dock. They also have tours from the hotel. I'd definitely recommend staying here! read more

Let's see, 1 of the desk clerks was very pleasant, the other not very friendly. The king room had a view of the parking lot. The TV only had a few of the channels shown on the card. The shower was like standing under a leaky faucet. The coffee maker was the cheapest thing I've ever seen with one paper cup provided, which didn't matter as the coffee maker didn't work anyway. On the plus side, the views are great from the perimeter and the overpriced room was fairly clean. Can not recommend. Will not return. read more
