Pros: close to home (little over an hour away) Lots of nice campsites with full hook-up Two outdoor pools, plus a hot tub and mini lazy river Two beach areas Large fishing/kayaking/paddle boarding and paddle boat pond Golf cart rentals (which is a pro and con, as they could use more because so many people want to rent them) Mini golf Grill (pro and con, as it's there and food is good. However, they sure take their time when taking your order and making it) Cons: sometimes just way too many people; especially when driving and kids are darting every which way right in front of you Renting a golf cart is cut throat during peak season, as you basically have to be right there as someone turns one in. No holds on them, and they can't tell you when the next available one comes available Staff is hit or miss on friendliness. My spouse had a rude encounter at the gate when he arrived for camping. Sometimes the staff in the party store is rude too. Gets super dusty with all the traffic around the campground

Been a member for many years. We now book and stay in cabins. Need to have more maintenance done on the off season. Internet very poor at best. TVs in cabins have super poor service. Need to get updated and use cable. Only get 4 channels, that cut in and out. Park clean and always nice looking. Manager very hard to reach. Friendly staff. Should use lodge on northshore in winter for a adult get away ( Has fireplace, NOT USED)

very unorganized! we had a 7 day stay and was harassed on our 3rd day to leave because their booking agent didn't do the booking correctly. we checked in with no problem for the dates of june 10th-june 17th. we also had our reservation number but we were told that the site was booked for someone else even though we are booked to check out on the 17th. the customer service representative i talked to was unprofessional and the davison location representatives were clueless to everything. not to mention all of the amenities are outdated and out of order!!! the membership is too expensive for this type of treatment so never get one here !!!! update: june 15, 22 well today my husband received a call while he was at work being questioned by a employee from the davison location stating that they were told we have no activity going on at our site. i'm so confused on why does that matter as long as we are not breaking any rules!!! i wonder did it ever occur to them that everyone can enjoy their time away from home any way they please to do so whether that's being outside their rv or being inside their rv! it was a heat advisory today and meanwhile we are being harassed about not having activity at out site . i'm beyond livid with this campground! again there is no way i would want a membership! between all of this harassment and confederate flags at the campground we wouldn't go back or recommend anyone either. i wish i could give no stars! update to the ownerfirst you didn't allow us to stay our full time we were actually asked if we could check out wednesday no later than thursday to accommodate the members who held a membership. so since we didn't have a membership we didn't matter! also you need a new policy because we were at our site we just mind our own business! i didn't read a response to all of the confederate flags there at your racist campground so don't try to address what you feel like you want to address be professional and address it all. i'll wait never get a membership here and again all of the amenities are old and if you don't believe me read other reviews. i don't know about there other locations but davison sucks, is unprofessional and is utterly confused!!!!

Ask the Community - Lake Shore Resort

Has anyone really won anything besides gift cards for this resort when they were "chosen" as a "finalist" for a truck or $20k?…

I looked up the reviews before even going to the resort as we were also chosen as "big winners". I told my husband it was a scam for an overpriced timeshare at a campground yet he still wanted to go for the prizes. What a joke, as I already knew…

Have the indoor pool and hot tub been repaired or even cleaned?

Dome is tore down no pool or hot tub Says sometimes 2019 dont bet it maybe 2020 dome has beem down 2 yrs. Place is dumpy this yr.

Awesome place for toddlers and young kids especially for a waterpark. The other big hotel down the…read moreroad is definitely better for older kids, teenagers, and even adults. Very easy to book online and be sure to get a rewards sign up. We did a package that included pizza and pop, a chicken dinner at Zehnders, and a breakfast buffet for both mornings. The hotel is easy to spot next to Bronner's. The theme of gnomes and fairies is so adorable. Staff are awesome! They were so sweet to my daughter and us. Whether it was our waitress, lifeguards at the waterpark, or the front desk. We were able to check in early, so be sure to ask! Our room was one of the older rooms and was one of the ADA compliant rooms, which has larger doorways, no bathtub, a queen bed, and a seating area with a fireplace. The room decorations and everything in it are original. It's very desperately needs to get a facelift. The room was right off of the front desk in waterpark, so walking to the action only took a few steps. I noticed there is no recycling bin. There was a mini refrigerator, but the temperature control wasn't the greatest. Carpet was buckling. The seating area did have a pullout couch, but the couch itself was slippery with the fabric and pretty uncomfortable. Not sure how well house keeping was. There was a Nerf gun instructions paperwork behind one of our bedside nightstands. The water pressure was awesome. The bedding felt clean and the bed overall was comfortable. Housekeeping was able to give us a few more towels off their cleaning cart, which was nice. There is an arcade, but it's definitely not as big as the other hotel down the street. It's very crammed into one room. The pizza and cheese bread was absolutely delicious. Was not expecting that for a kid themed hotel. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, but the buffet items don't change. So the second day we were already kind of sick of the options. They do a nightly movie night in the lobby at 8 PM. If our daughter was older, we definitely would've snuggled up in the lobby to watch the movie. The waterpark was our favorite. Our daughter is just over two, and I was so surprised at how many things she was able to do. She even got to go on a waterslide with us, holding her to go down. Also, she was able to go down a waterslide all by herself, so she thought she was super cool! At the hotel down the street, there's barely anything for a two-year-old to do at their waterpark. She absolutely loved being able to wade in the water with the toddler pool going up to 2 feet. She also was brave enough to go under the big bucket that splashes. We stayed two nights and I think we went to the waterpark at least four or five times and she never got sick of it. There is a security checkpoint for the waterpark. Security will put UV light on your wristband to make sure it's not a fake also go through any bags that you're bringing into the waterpark. Do not bring towel towels, the waterpark provides towels for you. Additionally, they provide lifejackets. There are plenty of tables and chairs all along both water parks, the old side and the new side. The new side wasn't as toddler friendly. There was a small slide she could go down, otherwise there really wasn't much else for her to do. We had a great stay and I think with them updating all of the hotel rooms, I think Zehnder's is the place to be!

This truly breaks my heart to write because we have loved this facility for so many years…read more We have been bringing our children here annually (sometimes multiple times a year) since 2013. But recently in the last few years, we have noticed a shift (some things they may not directly have control over). But this past weekend was bad and we felt it was time to update our review to reflect what is happening now. From the second you walk into their lobby, throughout the hallways, seeping into the rooms, and even penetrating the waterpark areas, all you can smell is that legalized recreational product (I'm sure you can guess what I'm talking about). It's disgusting, lingering scent persisting everywhere. It clings onto your clothing, suitcase, EVERYTHING. And if you get a room that was previously occupied by guests who partake in that, it reeks of it for your whole stay! Adding to this, you can continuously find bandaids, hair and hair extensions floating in the water and lying around on the ground. Many children/teens are running wild (being very disrespectful) with no adult in sight. This place has lost its charm for us and it truly is sad. This was a vacation we looked forward to annually with our children and have created so many beautiful memories but sadly, it no longer does and then to add the price continuously increasing (which we knew would happen). If the smell of recreational products, filthy areas, and disrespectful guests is your vibe, then this is the place for you. What once used to be our favorite has sadly shifted over the last few years.

This is our favorite hotel when visiting family in the area. It is a sprawling resort, as the name…read moreimplies, and there are plenty of hallways, wings, and cultivated grounds to explore. Its an ideal destination for an extended stay. As a former seminary built in the 1940's, the architectural flourishes are second to none. Design aficionados will be in aesthetic heaven. There are three restaurants on site - an Irish Pub, a wine Bar, and a Steakhouse with a bar and breakfast service. The wine bar is definitely worth a visit, whereas I recommend the other two options primarily for their convenience. Service is exceptional and the beds are firm but very comfortable, nonetheless. The in-room TV supports casting TV & movie apps - Netflix, Hulu, etc. - but not music apps, for some reason. Fortunately we brought a WiFi speaker. A few notes on accessibility follow. For context, I can walk with crutches but need to use a wheelchair for long distances. And this hotel is all about long distances. We had an accessible king room, and while the lanes for navigating a wheelchair around the bed are tight, they are manageable. The bed is super comfortable but also very TALL. It could be tricky to transfer to the bed from a wheelchair without assistance of crutches. There is plenty of space in the bathroom and the roll in-shower has a good set up with an accessible shelf for shampoo, etc. Be careful with the bathroom door - it is a very heavy sliding door with a strange locking mechanism. The public spaces in the hotel, including the restrooms, are generally modern and accessible. I also noticed that the pool has a swing chair for water access. One exception is the Irish Pub, which treated accessibility as an afterthought when it was designed. There is no wheelchair access within the hotel - you'll want to drive around to the back to use its parking lot. Additionally, to get to the restroom or the second floor of the pub you'll need to use one of smallest prefab dumb waiters I've ever been in. Finally, be advised that the entrance to the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, and the porte-cochère landing itself is at a slant. Be agile with your brakes, and let your companion park the car after you've exited if you can. Also note that there are only 4 designated accessible parking spaces. We've seen them all full on multiple occasions; for a parking lot of its size, the hotel should probably add about 4 more.

Whether you're looking for a family getaway or just a relaxing weekend, the Bavarian Inn Lodge offers something for everyone. We had a great time. They also have an area that you can walk to and watch the Peacocks. As far as the rooms, they are okay. The restroom is tight, with the toilets sitting inches from the shower. Rooms are spacious but smelled a little musky. Luckily, we were able to open up the window. Once we did that it smelled a little better. UPDATE: 6/26 - My child developed DOUBLE pink-eye after visiting this water park!!!…read more To the manager that replied: Yes, I spoke to two different ladies. the first young lady was the one giggling and laughing and asking about beer orders. The second time I called, I ASKED to speak to a manager and was switched over, so of course she didn't hear the laughter or giggling I heard. The trip started off fairly well, until around dinner time! We waited over an hour and 15 minutes for dinner after the automated system said 20-40 minutes. When I did call, I was met with laughter on the other line and was told, "we're understaffed - but are you the room that ordered all the beer?" "Nope. Definitely not. We have kids in tow and we do not drink. Me and my family are STILL waiting for food..." To which she laughed again, said they were understaffed and claimed the young lady hauling food was on the floor and would be "right there". 15 minutes later, I called again and they removed the food from our bill - which I appreciated, but also hated having to ask for - AGAIN. Also, asking me about an 'order' because the staff was already taking too long seemed borderline inappropriate. That being said, my kiddos are both 7, one chose this waterpark as her birthday venue, and everyone had a fun time. (It's a tad frustrating that check-in is so late and in order to get INTO the water park, with the most slides that is, you had to pay extra. So, anyone who pays for just the park gets in earlier technically. Which again, is a tad annoying. You pay more to stay and then pay even more to play. The lazy river, the family raft ride and the outside hot tub were their favorites to play around in a there are a few inside we didn't even check out. The breakfast/dinner/game time coupons and cards were all pretty nifty and we used every single one of them. It is a bit misleading that the place to enjoy dinner is the 'Bavarian Inn Restaurant' and is not attached to the hotel in any way and says it closes at 8:00. We booked it there to arrive in time for a dinner only to see them seating people at 8:55. All of our issues revolved around meals/food, and younger staff members just joking around when you try to ask questions, but overall - my kiddos had a great time and that was the goal.

The rooms we have stayed in do not have carpet, #10-one bed and small-perfect for 1 person; #4-two beds, table & chairs, larger bathroom. Cant remember the other room numbers-sorry! There are plenty of throw rugs throughout. There are no weird squiggly light bulbs, just regular Tom Edison type. Yay! All rooms have a microwave, I think. No refrigerators, so bring a cooler if u need it. There is also a small heater and A/C mounted in each room's wall. All rooms have a small flat screen with cable. Just served a plate of authentic cheese and potato homemade pierogi with sour cream. YUM! Josephine is one heck of a Polish cook! Beautiful huge pine and Maple trees hide this little gem of a motel. Picnic tables under the trees add to the charm. Hot dog/Coney island/pulled pork sandwich/ice cream place right next door too. Under $50 per night out the door, but cash only. This is a very cool place to stay. If you are looking for an experience in the "old ways" you will enjoy The Maple Leaf Motel.
