Stopped by this small pizzeria for lunch today. We ordered two of their lunch specials; 2 slices with a beverage and a pasta with garlic rolls. We added fresh mushrooms to our pizza slices. We sat at one of the inside booths and shortly our order was brought to the table. The pizza slices were good and the pasta with a meatball was al dente and good. Good value lunch stop. read more

We had a filling lunch here at this small neighborhood pizza restaurant-- and even took some of our food home. They had several lunch specials. We chose two of them and shared. One lunch was two pizza slices with one-topping and a soda. We got mushrooms -- they're real/fresh, i.e., not canned -- and selected a soda from the cooler. The pizza was okay. I'm a New Haven pizza gal, so it's not easy to meet my expectations. The other lunch special was "mini pasta". We got the spaghetti and meatball. It was one meatball in tomato sauce over spaghetti. I liked that the pasta wasn't mushy. The pasta came with two garlic rolls. We brought the rolls home. Service was timely from when we ordered. They do a lot of takeout, but we decided to eat in. You order and pay at the window. Along the wall is a counter with 4 stools. In the other room are three tables and one high top table. This place is the definition of a hidden gem! We were met with a very attentive and patient cashier. They had a very nice lunch special so I got the 6" sub with chips and it did not disappoint. The bread was super fluffy, fresh, and their homemade Italian dressing that came with it was absolutely mouth watering. I ordered through the app slice for delivery to start off the delivery driver was rude. My boyfriend gets the food from the driver and brings it to me I look at it and notice I'm missing something so I call. I'm on the phone with them telling them I'm missing something and the guy on the phone says no I'm not that's impossible because it's not at the store and I explain to him that I don't have it so it's missing. He then goes back and forth with me and I ask to speak to a manager he says he's the owner but arguing with me about it and isn't giving me any way to resolve the situation. They're back! Lake Worth pizza was once my local standard for authentic NY-style pizza and I would order takeout from them very frequently. Then 5+ years ago the old owners sold the place and the new ownership changed it overnight, reducing the hours and making obvious changes to cheaper , lower quality ingredients that ruined a gem of a whole in the wall. So I and many others stopped going. Wrote it off as a sad local loss gone for good. Then earlier this year I read some comments online indicating the old owners had bought the place back! I was excited but suspicious of this claim at first but after doing some digging saw that it was in fact true, so I finally made it back to try the pizza again. Sure enough the old recipes were back: their familiar sauce, Grande cheese and delicious crust (I assume they use all trumps flour). I've probably ordered from them 10 times this year and they've been on the money each time with the quality of their pies AND everything has been ready in the timelines they give over the phone. No order screwups or anything. I just wish they'd bring back the late night hours (fond memories of 11+ pm pizzas!) but I'll take what they've got going. Everyone was super friendly from the moment we walked in. It's a small place with about 6 places to sit or stand. I'm assuming they do a lot of take out and/or delivery. The parking lot is very small. We have passed this spot for 4 years now and decided to give it a try. They have lunch specials for under $6. I opted for the salad and slice and my boyfriend got 2 pepperoni slices and a soda. The pizza was thin crusted with a good sauce and perfect amount of cheese (and in his case pepperoni) on it. The staff was very nice and they've been in business for 30 years. They sold the business last year,took a one year hiatus, but realized they missed it and are back. They have a 5 mile delivery radius and we are actually 6 miles away and he said no problem! This will now be our go to when we need yummy pizza delivered! read more

Personally, I like LWP because it's close to my house, they make great pizzas, and I'm intrigued by other items they have on their menu, such as their calzones and strombolis. Whenever I taken out food there, they've been prompt and never disappointing. The location is nestled in a small plaza, immediately past the Checkers if you're going northbound on Dixie, just after the 6 Ave S intersection. The inside has a very small counter area if you want to enjoy a sandwich or slice of pizza there, but you go there to pick up an order. They were totally inedible. The worst pizza I have ever had. I tried wrapping one slice in wet paper towels to soften it up but it did NOT work. On top of that, the fettuccine alfredo left me in the bathroom sick for 4 hours. I literally had to take FOUR immodium before I could leave the toilet. Lake Worth Pizza left me sick for two days! Horrible experience! They were sooo late. I placed the order at 12:20 from yelp. It said it was going to take 45 minutes and it didn't arrive here until almost 150. I called at 1230 & requested they include a menu. No menu. The girl hung up on me. I called back at 115 and he says they are almost there but had other stops first. I called again at 140 and he tells me he is right outside... but he still took a few more minutes. The food was cold. The garlic rolls were greasy and bland and hard as rocks. Although the Casino pizza place on the beach is good, Lake Worth Pizza blows it out of the water (or off the beach). Don't even mention Downtown Pizza or Rotellis, they're a joke. Tony is most likely who you'll deal deal with LW Pizza. He's the son of the owner/founder is a cool guy. They've been in business for literally 20 years. My wife and I recommend the Philly cheese streak pizza. Good shreds of steak, peppers and onions. Hot damn. I will note that their crust isn't the thickest out there, I'd rate it a medium thickness crust pie. Not the thinnest, but definitely not super doughy.
