I came here a few weeks ago for a mani/pedi. It was early in the day on a weekday so I was the only one there. The lady who did my acrylic set was really nice and worked with me as I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for. I thought she did a pretty good job. I also thought the price was pretty fair for what I got. Unfortunately that's where the good part of this experience stops. There were two women and one man there, the other younger woman got set up to do my pedicure once my nails were done. She didn't ask me if I wanted anything to drink, she didn't ask what kind of pedicure I wanted, she put my feet in cold water immediately and walked away. I took my feet out because it was really cold and she came back, looked at me funny as I tried to explain to her that the water was too cold. She come up beside me and turned on the warm water. My feet "soaked" for maybe 10 seconds and she had me put both of my feet out as she trimmed and took off nail polish. I figured I would put my feet back to let them actually soak before she began but no, she got out the scraper and just started scraping away at my heels. And when I say scrape, I would say she halfheartedly, very lazily scraped my heels. This is the main reason I get a pedicure, as I have pretty dry heels, but she was done in about 20 seconds on each foot, and not a lot was coming off because I had barely soaked them at all, so none of the skin was soft enough. I tried to ask if I could soak my feet a little longer before she did that but she didn't understand a word I was saying. The other woman and man were nowhere to be found so I couldn't reach out to one of them. So I sat back and was like well. I guess this is what I'm gonna get then. She started the massage and again very lazy and halfheartedly did this part. I could see the dry skin on my heels still and thought maybe I'll ask for some paraffin wax to soften up a little bit more. When I asked for this, she looked at me with a question in her face, like she didn't understand what I was asking. The other woman had come back and was just hanging out on her phone as no one else was in the place, so that's when we finally did get her to come over and I saw her teaching her how to do the paraffin wax. So now it's making a little more sense. This is just a new person who maybe hasn't done very much, but you'd think that someone might be guiding her as she is doing it because she clearly was not doing things properly. when they took my foot out of the wax, I could see there were still a lot of skin and I'm just not satisfied so I asked the other woman if she can scrape my heels a little more because there was still a ton of skin on them after the paraffin wax. At this point, the other woman I could tell just told the younger girl to leave and she took over from there. From this point it was great because clearly this other person was more experienced. You think also that this young girl would sit there and maybe watch and learn something from the more experienced person but no, she went to a different chair and just sat there on her phone. The man was pretty much in the office for most of the time, he did come out and say hello and ask if everything was going OK it was polite. You can tell he's probably the boss. But he and this other girl literally sat around on their phones for the 2 1/2 hours that I was there. There was a ton of nail dust, dirt and grime all over the tables that they probably could've been cleaning. The general cleanliness of the place was good enough that I didn't leave immediately but as I sat there and got my nails done, I was really picking up on a lot of grime. Anyways, my manicure barely lasted two weeks before they started to fall off. My pedicure started chipping within the week (but I was in chlorinated pool so I can't blame them too much for that). Overall, I will not be returning to this location. I think I can get better service and quality elsewhere. read more

Made the mistake of not checking reviews before coming here. I got my nails done yesterday at 4:30 pm. At 8:45, one gel nail came clean off like it was hardly attached in the first place. All I did in those few hours was eat dinner so I wasn't even being rough with them. Service was fine, but the person doing my nails did not do a great job with what I asked for. I showed a photo and asked for a few little hearts on one finger, but these hearts (specifically on my right hand) did not look good. Excellent customer service! I have been researching salons for 6 months. I do not know why Lakeland Nails has low reviews. I figure everyone has a bad day and deserves new chances. I am so very happy I chose to ignore the ratings. From call to set up appointment to finish my experience here was grand customer service and precise attention to detail! As a "ocd" lol cleaner toothbrush in every corner, I have high hopes when I am the customer. Thank you Lakeland Nails for meeting my expectations and welcoming customer service environment. This place was great! Not sure why all the low stars. I stopped in yesterday to see if they could fit me in for a pedicure for today and the gentleman working, who I assume is the owner, was so nice. When I came in for my pedicure, I was instantly greeted and sat down to soak my feet. It's clean in the salon and has good vibes! The lady working spoke to me but not too much, which I like because I like to zone out when I'm getting a pedicure. The pedicure was great! It's hard to find a good nail place- especially one that has availability on the weekends! Lakeland Nails Spa is one of my favorite places to get a pedicure for sure. The business itself has 6 nail stations and 8 pedicure chairs, so they can't handle too many people at a time. I always call ahead and they usually tell me the best time to come in. The pedicures include a wax dip, foot massage, and hot towel wrap. The foot massages are wonderful and my toes always look great afterwards! The pricing is pretty average for a pedicure as well. I would say this place has a bad reputation for people that walk in, but if you call, you'll have a great experience! read more

Came here to get my acrylics taken off and will never be returning again after they used an acrylic tip to push under the nail and forcefully pop the nails off which ripped my real nail and made it bleed. They were clearly in a rush and cared more about getting money out of me than making sure I at least wasn't in pain!! read more

I just got my toes and nails done and I'm very happy. I've being coming here for years now and it saddens me to see all the negative reviews here. I give them 5 stars because: it is very convenient to me to come to a place that not only it's close to home but when I decide that I want my nails done I can just walk in, also I have trouble big toe nails that need acrylic on to make them look natural. I always do shellac and love that they have a big selection of colors and they last a LONG time which it's a plus. If I don't like something or change my mind or make them fix something they are willing to do so. If you come on their busy days you have to have in mind that they might not be able to sit you right away at your request and be prepare to wait. Went in to get a gel manicure and a normal pedicure. The process was fine, but the owner was rude about me touching my finished nails stating that they are still not completely cured though I had then under the lamp 3 times at 60 seconds by the tech. A couple days passed and my cuticles starting hurting on 5 of my nails and I noticed water blisters around my nails/cuticles. I went in to ask for a refund and the owner stated it was just dry skin and refused to discuss since he was with a client. He then asked to see my nails again and then put cuticle oil and said just put vaseline and shoo'd me away. As much as I explained my situation, he refused to take accountability. Had an appointment scheduled for mani and pedi. When entering salon attempted to say hi and that I had arrived, which was only met with stares and no response. (No big deal). Pedicure was very nice, however the massage chairs did not work. After the pedicure was finished I waited for the manicure. After 20 min goes by I realize they had forgot. They did do a fast and beautiful job with dip nails, however, they didn't do a full manicure... just painted and shaped nails, no cuticle maintenance, no lotion or hand massage. And when getting nails done it was very apparent that they were annoyed/in a rush. The end product looks pretty good. the experience and not getting what I expected for a manicure is what had me rate this place 3 stars. read more

I had came here once before and got a simple shellac manicure with nude nails and a white line as a design across. I gave them about a C+ last time because the lady was nice but I had to ask her to go over the design a couple times because she didn't follow through with the line in the middle. anyways, my usual place (cacie on a street) was super packed so I decided to come here since it was empty. it was a wednesday around 5pm, completely empty. my grandma and I were both getting a shellac mani and regular pedi. the location is excellent-- it's right in my neighborhood, prices are decent, comparable to other nail salons in the area. the building is nice, I like the tvs and the shop is just overall very neat and clean. they also have a huge variety of colors which I liked. staff was nice. difficult to keep a conversation with them because of the language barrier but they were fine and friendly. (but then again how can I even tell what they're saying if they're speaking in vietnamese to eachother back and forth??) I liked that they massaged your legs for a long time and the paraffin wax! my grandma had a problem with an ingrown nail that she pointed out to the lady. grandma asked her to clean it thoroughly and she definitely didn't. LOL she probably didn't get what my grandma was asking her to do??? idk. anyways. my main problem with them was that I pointed out all the mistakes she made and she neglected to fix them. pretty much she didn't paint my entire nail. the edges were not painted at all and I kept pointing to it!!!! I also asked for VERY SIMPLE designs and she did such a shitty job I had her redo them over like 3x PER FINGER! the lines she made were not dark enough, they were all different sizes. at the end she was like, do you like it?? and then I was like meh and I pointed to all the things wrong and she didn't even bother to fix them. I didn't notice the bad reviews on here before I went for the first time. I was really surprised at the bad reviews after my experience. I went when they first opened, so I was the only one there. They got to work right away, and did all my favorite things in a pedicure that didn't cost extra, including a wax dip. They have a large selection of gel and regular colors and my nails are still holding up well even though I've since been the the beach or pool every day since I went almost a week ago. Ok so I went back 2 days ago hoping for a better experience and was sadly disappointed. I had a full set put on and the man that did it was not good. I spent $45 to have nails put on that the end result looked like I had them on for a week. My entire nail was not covered. Side view you could see my real nail. No cuticule treatment. No lotion put on hands. While I was there the guy was telling me how hard it is to find help. Now this is after Covid do you think you would do a way better job to ensure repeat business. I went to get my toes done today and after asking that my heel be looked at because it wasn't scrubbed all the way it turned it into world war III. The gal that did my feet proceed to get very aggressive and almost offended by my feedback. The owner then proceeded to come over and make a list of excuses that range from she was an immigrant who didn't speak well English to I needed to come more often to get my feet done to I think too much. I was not rude or aggressive and proceeded to say multiple times I do not like being spoken to this way when I am not being rude or aggressive which was dismissed. I paid my bill and left and will not return because a man to tell a woman you think too much and proceed to "mansplain" and make excuses instead of saying hey thanks for the feedback and moving on is not a place I want to give my business to. I decided to try this place out last minute and unfortunately, I left super disappointed. I tried dip powder for the first time and she left my nails looking so messy. They left dried powder caked under my nails and around my nails. I even had to file one of my nails when I got home because the shape was so bad. The top coat she put on bubbled on all of my nails, so they looked rough and terrible. They clearly don't care about the quality of the work they are doing and sending people home with. My sister and I came in for some bonding and pampering time and I suppose they did a fine job with our nails, but - for the love of all that's holy - why the heck did it take more than two hours for a manicure and pedicure?! Two hours! I only wanted a pedicure and my sis wanted both but, oddly, they started on me first. I was done and they'd barely gotten started on her. Her lady kept getting up in the middle of what she was doing and going off to do something else (work on another customer, maybe?). Don't go here. They are unprofessional, and they do a sloppy job. They never talk to you. They talk amongst themselves in their native language. I got a shellac manicure, and a pedicure and they "matched" the two polishes. Nice staff and very clean. I give it 3 stars because of the quality of the shellac polish. I have never had my polish peel off until I came here! I selected a color, they took the bottle to the back room and I suspect they added polish remover to thin it, but I can't be certain. Whatever process they used or the top coat was subpar quality. I've been here twice and the first time my nails turned out fine but last night I got home and noticed my toes looked like a kindergartener had painted them. I wish I had paid more attention before I left because there was polish all around my nails on my skin. It's unfortunate since they're conveniently located for me and the nail tech was very nice (extra star for that even though she did a poor polish job) but not worth the money. I will never spend another cent at this salon. I called today to schedule a lip waxing. The man on the phone told me to come at 7pm. I arrived on time and he asked me to wait. After a few minutes he tells me to go with a woman to get my "eyebrows" done. I said out loud to him and her "no it's a LIP waxing". Me and my 10 year old go back to the room and my daughter lays down on the mat. She's pretty hairy and I was getting her lip waxed for the first time so that she'd feel confident for her first day of school. The woman put alcohol on her lip and eyebrows. I said "no, just her lip" she said "I know" then proceeded to clip my daughters eyebrows to shape them. I thought she was being kind since my daughter was very nervous. Then I see wax. I thought it was going on her lip but then the woman put the wax around her eyebrow. I said "we just want her lip" she said "I know". After she finished everything, including the lip I left the room to pay. I said to the male cashier that I only wanted lip and didn't request eyebrows and wasn't willing to pay for the eyebrows service on a 10 year old that I kept declining. He said he wanted to confirm with the woman first as to what services were rendered. He comes back and said "you're a liar" and began charging me for both eyebrows and lip. I said "did you just call me a liar?" He said " we wouldn't do that and you trying to get over, you're a liar" I said "I don't appreciate being handled this way" and I asked him to confirm what I scheduled this appointment for. I told him and the woman many times I just wanted the lip waxed. After he put me down and he said that the money wasn't big deal but I wasn't allowed to come back there anymore. All of this in front of my daughter. I paid for the lip and left. I think he may have confused his employee and she didn't understand why I came in today so she was doing what she thought I wanted. I told him I'd tip her for the eyebrows but not the service. He was rude, spoke over me, accused me and never tried to get an understanding of what was the confusion. Even if I wasn't banned(which is ridiculous) I'd never return. The first time I went my nails sucked. Haven't been back in two years, figured they couldn't screw up a lip but I was wrong. Never been treated so poorly. Felt my race played a major roll on how I was treated. I would have paid had I not asked like 7 times for just the lip. read more

It included a salt scrub, paraffin wax dip, quite a long massage, and hot towels. The shellac/gel manicure turned out beautiful. The first time I went here was a great mani pedi experience. My shellac mani was thin and resilient. The second time I came, the man did terrible hearts on my nails... And they were a little thicker. The last time, my nails weren't filed evenly, the gal made me bleedby ripping my cuticle back hard!!! The other gal made my daughter bleed with the nail scraper tool. The lady doing my nails made them thin, but they were lifting and chipping in 5 days, when I should be good for 10-12. They also over-booked themselves so their treatment was hurried, 3 different people worked on my daughter. We had appointments. I don't think we will go back again. read more

Went in for shellac nails, and was satisfied with the result. ($30 for Shellac Manicure). Or at least I did not like how she did mine. I was charged $12 for a not-so-great job and with my usual place I only pay $8 for state of the art results. If I could give a zero star, I would. I walked in at 5:48pm and there was one person letting her nails dry. Asked for a pedicure and was immediately told yes. I proceeded to pick out a color. After a minute, the owner- a man, came over and told me that if I took too long picking out a color, they could not do my pedicure because he had an appointment at 6. I was confused and said, no worries if you're busy, I can go somewhere else if I need to or come back tomorrow. The female technician said "no, no, no, it's okay, we'll do it for you." I thought it was strange of the man to say, but sat down in the pedicure chair. It was now 5:50. I happened to have my phone which is how I know the time stamps. At 5:56pm, the lady was already draining the water and putting lotion on my legs. At 5:59 she proceeded to grab the nail polish. She must have seen my confused look because she asked if I was ok. There were 3 employees working. The 6:00 appointment arrived and the male technician was helping the client. So, I responded to the lady doing my pedicure and said, how are you done? I've been in the chair for 10 minutes. She gave me a confused look (language barrier, I suspect). So, the male tech came marching over and said "what's your problem? I told you I have an appointment at 6." Here's where I was astonished. I said, I realize you said that but I also said I could go someplace else if you couldn't get me in. He then proceeded to tell me to get out because I didn't understand him... I was completely shocked (and 9 months pregnant) so my eyes filled with tears because I've NEVER experienced something like this. I only responded with "ok." And the lady proceeded to wipe the lotion off my feet and grab my flip flops. All the while the male is still talking (now in front of his client) about how I can leave... it was bizarre and humiliating and I'm utterly shocked. I was there less then 15 minutes all together. I came in for an eyebrow and lip wax a week ago, and they got me in right away when the place across the way told me to come back in an hour (twice). My eyebrows are fantastic, but my lips got these in-grown hair/clogged pores afterward which were very irritating. I'd never had that happen before, so I'm not sure if my skin just had an adverse reaction or if there was some sanitary issue. For that reason, I won't be getting a wax there anymore. I did decide to get my nails done with my sister here this past weekend though. We called to see what the wait would be for 2 full sets on a Saturday. They said there was no wait, but said get here fast. I live across the street, and we hopped right in the car but the gentleman who appears to run it called my sister back after about 2 minutes to find out how far away we were. We got in, and were immediately sat down and the whole process was so rushed. The edges of my nails are very dry and peel-y looking. All of my nails are uneven, and when I asked for nails as thin as she could do them, she fixed one nail. My sisters turned out pretty good though, just a little uneven. I actually liked this place, I did a walk-in on a Sunday and they attended me right away, got a simple manicure ( that includes a paraffin and a massage of hands) for only 15$ +tips. They did a good job, the place was super clean, and the variety of colors was pretty good. Overall a better experience than what I have expected read more
