The customer service at XO Nail Studio is toxic, specifically with the owners, Lilly and Yin. I'm not surprised the turn over rate seems to be high as Lilly and Yin are extremely rude and difficult to work with, from a clients perspective. First 2 visits were great with no issues - my nails looked great and I truly believed Yin was talented, reason being I went back for a 2nd & 3rd appointment. The 3rd time was a horrific experience though and will be the last. 1) Yin doesn't respect her clients, their time or honor the appointment schedule. My mother and I were confirmed with Lilly & Yin and invited in, but once there, we were put on the spot as Yin proceeded to make us feel crazy & a problem - as if we didn't explicitly confirm our appointments and details. We later learned they either overbooked theirselves or accepted a walk-in in place of our appointment, when she asked the other client to come back. She apologized and said she was confused, and it was a miscommunication...but continuously tried to shuffle us around throughout the appointment for her connivence . 2) Yin will become extremely defensive and rude if you question or express slight unsatisfaction with the service you paid for + gratuity. Other salons will kindly take the time to understand and work with their clients to ensure happiness and satisfaction, but not XO. They may invite you back to address the concern, but will make their frustration known. Simple ask: "please make my nail length even." I was met with a hostile "education" session on how it was the foundation of my nail, rather than her rushed work so she could fit in her next overbooked client. Furthermore, her explanations did not make any sense as she had no issues perfecting my nails during my 1st and 2nd appointment with her. It was extremely difficult to have a civil 2 way dialogue with her to try and understand her point of view as she became extremely confrontational. She even went as far as bringing up a relative as mine (she previously manicured) having the same "issue". She processed visibly upset and became extremely rude, loud, and unapproachable as she aggressively and intentionally filed down my nails to no return and making it worse. She didn't care about my opinion or intentionally fixing my nails, and if I was happy with them or not. She seemed to be more concerned about her ego and proving a point. At one point her and the other women in the salon,inclusive of her sister and mother engaged in side chatter in Vietnamese with laughter. This is completely expected and normal from visiting different nail salons in my experience, but was inappropriate and rude in this case. This would make any reasonable & emotionally intelligent person uncomfortable in such an instance, but this salon seems to lack such manners. In an effort to maintain my peace and not engage in the toxic behavior, I ended up just staying silent, ignored the environment, and let Yin believe she was right as she wanted to be. I left the salon in tears from the toxic experience to another salon to easily fix my nails with no issues. I've been getting my nails done at salons for decades, and worked in customer service for several years. I wasn't going to leave this review but decided to because no one should ever have such an experience. Going to the nail salon should be a happy and relaxing self care experience. I did not take their treatment personal though as in hindsight, this is not the first time I've seen this salon become so confrontational and disrespectful to their clients. I noticed it on all three visits with different clients. I wish them well and may they evolve their willingness to learn and customer feedback to grow and evolve their business as the quality and service they currently provide is not worth the prices they charge in comparison to salons in their demographics. read more

Horrible, I found out I was being Overcharged. I originally came here to get a cheaper price for my manicure, that's what they promised. Well apparently it was assumed I'm so rich, when I am literally just 20 yrs. so they began ripping me off. Instead of $150 new set of nails, I was charged $300!!! And then I decided to come back and give another chance and then for a fill I was promised $130 and guess what, somehow they added it up to $215 for a fill for medium nails. Unbelievable. I confronted the owner Lily and she yelled at me and made me look stupid in front of everyone. I am a girl who gets her nails done every 2 weeks and they could of had a great client. I will not be coming back, and I recommend you don't either. Unless you want to be taken advantage of. read more

First time I've gone to this salon, best set I've had in over a year. They had me checked in and sat down in under 5minutes. Created a beautifully shaped nail, that had no lumps, and took time in cleaning edges. The ladies were all very sweet too. New spot to go read more

Updated review: I'm not sure what happened with the pricing this year but the last few times Ive had my nails done its been over 100$. I will attach photos of the nails. The rainbow nails took over two hours and cost 170$ (my gf paid tip included and that is not the screenshot included). I didnt get the design I asked for and the appointment was with Yen but we were told it was made with someone else. And again it took over two hours not pedicure. The screenshot with the charge is the butterfly nails and a pedicure. The nails I have no complaints but the pedicure was very different from what ive experienced in the past. The tech did not put lotion on my legs or feet? The polish job was okay but the sides didnt have polish. I can no longer justify the price which is heart breaking because I really enjoy Yens work. Ive decided to just not get my nails done anymore :( wish there was more transparency about the pricing. read more

I moved from California to Seattle a year ago, my job transferred me to a location in federal way and my friend had showed me this place. The first time I came in, it reminded me of my home nail salon. I felt welcomed and the quality was there. Fast forward to now, I religiously come to this nail salon despite it being a 30 minute drive. Yen has done my acrylics each time and she never fails to do an amazing job. I kind of became a random client but she took me under her wing. She is extremely kind and likes to perfect her service. I asked her to file down my nail because I felt like it was crooked, and she happily did it and didn't make me feel bad even though I was scared to ask haha. Overall the quality is good in my opinion. Ever go to a nail salon and one person does perfect nails, one does terrible nails, etc? I'd say that the people that work here are above average in their skill. I have been here twice so I'll share my experiences. 1st trip- appointment made, we were seen right away, customer service was very good. It was my daughter and I. They gave my daughter the full on luxurious manicure service (it was a male that did it). They even asked if it was okay that a guy did it. Of course it was, but it was kind of them to ask. My nails (full set) were really nice. I can't remember the exact price but it was approximately $45 for daughter. A little pricey for a kid but my daughter enjoyed the experience and said it was the fanciest nail place we've been to. It was worth it to see my daughter so happy! 2nd trip- I called and made an appointment for myself, my daughter and my 2 nieces. I understand that there were 4 of us so when I made the appointment I told them whatever time was best for them. They said 10am. It really didn't feel like they had time for us. They worked on one while the rest of us sat, then 2 while my niece and I sat. Then all 4. Then a random lady with no appointment came in and my daughter's lady left and helped her. I'm assuming she was a regular and they just jumped for her. I can understand to a point. Then my niece's lady left her and worked on somebody else's set. It felt like we were a bother. Like we were walk ins when we made an appointment and asked when would be the best time for them to accommodate us. Also, my daughter didn't really get the full experience she got the first time but the price was still the same. BUT ALL of our nails turned out really beautiful, of great quality. So I will keep going here and see what happens in future trips. I am overall happy with this place. It felt like a weird time crunch thing the second time but I'll give the benefit of the doubt. read more

Do not come here, RUN. As a neighborhood business owner woman myself, I came here to get a nail fill. It was close to closing time, they were extremely rude when my Apple App wouldn't work. I figured it out through the Zelle app but they were like you can't leave without paying for services. I have hundreds to thousands in my bank accounts which I showed her for a 40$ service? Their response was you can't leave or we will take off your nails! Threatening assault. Wow!!! Please no one go here!!! The older mom went to lock the door on me???!?! She prevented me from texting my husband thinking I was taking pictures of her salon? These are not good people!! Please SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL customer service between the supposed manager and her mom??? Do Not support this horrible place!!! JENNY however was wonderful!!! She's a treasure that needs to work somewhere else. Oh and I have a 15,000$ wedding ring on my finger. I am also reporting them to the BBB asap and contacted my business lawyer for a small claims suit. I am reporting them to the authorities for possible assault and harassment. I really wanted to give this place a good review but after $140 and 3 hours later I just can't. First, I had an appointment at noon, I was 6 minutes early and they didn't start my nails until 1:00. Several people came in for walk ins while I waited and they were quoted at 20-30 minute waits. When it was finally my turn, I had a fairly simple color scheme in mind but they had a very limited color selection to offer. The lady was somewhat pushy trying to "help" me find the colors I wanted so I settled for similar colors to what I washed. When it came time for my pedicure I decided to go for the $70 option, boasting an extra 10 minute massage. I went with a friend who started her pedicure before I started mine and we finished at the same time. Every step felt rushed. My friend timed the massage and it wasn't even 7 minutes. I didn't feel like the actual pedicure was great, but the extras were cool. They did give me a $5 discount because I had to wait. Overall, I will not be returning and if I wasn't there with a friend, I probably would have left. What was most frustrating was the hour wait even with an appointment. They were clearly very busy, but try to be honest with your wait times. And don't continue to accept business while people with appointments have been sitting for an hour. read more

I went there today as a walk-in and they took me right away. This is where I met Jenny. Jenny was very sweet, she did exactly what I asked for but above that, she removed an ingrown nail that's been bothering me for a couple years...I purposefully didn't tell her about it and she had spotted it and removed it. Spent 150 dollars and my nails are lifting, one popped off like it was a press on. My pedicure looks like a 5 year old did it. I've come back twice for them to fix it and each time they refuse too saying they are too busy. Today I sat down and waited! During my wait another customer who happened to be sitting in the pedicure chair for ever, said never mind. They charged her 10.00 for the liner and the water. They didn't even do any work on her!!!!! When she complained the gal stared yelling and being unprofessional. When I stood up for them she turned it around on me! She YELLED AT ME and then started crying and yelling saying how us customers are rude and they been working all day with no breaks or lunch. She even told me to get out! She can refuse service to anybody. I told her I'd dispute my charge and she replied go ahead and then proceed to ball her eyes out! The lady who originally did my nails tried to soothe things over and explain how my nail breaking was an accident and that they are trying to help. I explained to her that we were the customers, and their customer service was horrible!!!!! They fixed my nail, and then charged me like 10.00 The most unprofessional experience ever!!!!!!!!! I've been here twice! This was my third time to correct my nail breaking! And y'all acted that way? This is poor service and I'm actually APPALLED! read more

Couple of months back, I found this on Yelp & saw good reviews & thought I would give it a shot. I loved how clean the shop was, how everyone was so nice & welcoming & automatically helped you once you walk in. I've been coming here for a while now & I only have Yen do my nails. She's amazing & she takes her time to get it how you want it! I always get tapered square / skinny square & Yen does them so perfect. I'm OBSESSED! Some nail salons don't give out punch cards, XO Nails do. For my birthday back in November, she gave me designs on my ring fingers for free & it was the sweetest birthday gift from my nail tech (Yen). Their prices aren't that bad either, for my fill or a full set of acrylics, it's around the $40+ range & it honestly wasn't that bad. (Depends on your preference of length & added on designs, of course). If you're looking for a new nail salon, come here. You won't regret it. read more

They do not have much choices for colors in terms of pastels even after I asked if they could do my inspiration. The nail lady that did my nails didn't seem to want to listen to what I'm asking for and just did what she wanted to do. TERRIBLE service experience. The older woman did my pedicure and had my toes bleeding! She tried to tell me I had an ingrown hair or nail which wasn't true. I asked for a discount which I wanted to give them business because no one was in there on a Sunday. But I WILL NOT be going back. They tried to tell me it was going to go under as a "learning experience" && there's nothing they can do! Then they shouldn't have had someone who didn't know what they were doing on my feet without asking me first. My pedicure isn't even fully finished, some of my toes are not fully painted and my toes are throbbing from cutting too deep and BLEEDING! AND then had the nerve to put alcohol on it afterward. I've had my nails done here three times now but won't be going back. The gel chipped within three days last time I went but that wasn't all. Even more disturbing is the way the owner treats customers. When I was waiting to pay, she was screaming at a customer at the register! The woman was trying to pay but was trying to explain that she was quoted a lower price Whatever happened, it's not ok to yell at your customers. Super disappointed. I came in today to get a pedicure and a full set for my upcoming trip. There was 2 other people in there. Did not appear to be busy at all. They did my pedicure and my full set at the same time. Normally not a fan of that but it was fine. The ladies were polite and the pedi went good. The nails though. I asked for a full set of short square French tips. The lady doing my set seemed extremely inattentive and rushed. My nails came out looking like duck nails not square. All extremely uneven and rounded. When I asked her nicely if she could fine down a bit more and she just swiped the file across my nail and put the oil on and walked me to the front. This nail salon recently changed names and I used to frequent here. Recently I went for a basic shellac manicure & paid $30! It's gotten way tooo expensive and it's the same workers doing a shitty job. There should be absolutely no reason the prices increased that much when they're not even capable of doIng decent work. If you show them a photo of something you like they don't even know how to do it. They're more concerned about the quantity of people they get in and out instead of the quality. The only time I would recommend this place is if you're in a hurry, don't like waiting & just want to be in and out because there isn't ever a wait. Always empty.
