She took them from looking awful to absolutely beautiful. One thing that really impressed me was how she corrected one of my natural nails that grows curved. She was able to shape it so it looked straight while still preserving the health and integrity of my natural nail. The staff were friendly, they were moderately busy, and asked us to come back in a couple of hours, which we did! We were greeted and thanked for coming back. Been frequenting this salon for 5+ years now. It's a local, family-owned gem that treats everyone kindly and has expert nail technicians. Owner is warn, accommodating, and an amazing nail artist and pedicurist. Like most places in Federal Way, don't be fooled by the exterior strip mall decor. In fact, owner recently renovated the entire space and it looks amazing (photos attached). Very clean, tranquil and large number of loyal customers (always a good indication!). If you are on a schedule, call and make an appointment. Walk-in's are welcome and every technician is great so no worries who you get. Fridays and Saturdays are usually the busiest. They're also open on Sunday's which is super convenient but shorter hours. They do everything from acrylic, gel tips, gel, dip and more. Waxing is also super affordable and well done. I always go for the deluxe pedi but the pearl ones are also super affordable. They have all of the latest trends and colors - chrome, ombré, new cat's eye (various magnets techniques), neons, etc! Hundreds of colors and pre-made plus original/custom nail art (see my holiday nails photo). From simple, clean looks to nail art and jewels, they do it all. THIS PLACE IS DISHONEST AND A SCAM. I should've known immediately when I saw there was no one in the salon upon arrival. They overcharged me significantly. I paid 85 dollars for the nails below. I frequently get my nails done and this is the shortest set I've ever gotten yet the most expensive. I told her multiple times the price didn't make sense and she argued with me. The nails are extremely chunky ( which I specifically asked to avoid). I noticed that when doing my nails the application was gummy, which means that their powder is NOT MMA. It is a brightly lit, clean, narrow space with mirrors along one wall with 6 massage pedicure chairs and 6 manicure stations. My daughter treated me to a pedicure back in 2021. She expressed how liked how great the customer service was and how they did her nails. This day was beautiful as it a special Mother-Daughter date. They offer an array of services other then the typical norm. Definitely don't recommend this place for pedicures . The lady that did my pedicure claimed she was trying to get rid of an ingrown nail . It was hard but she kept trying to dig deeper . I called around 12pm asking for a same day appointment an hour before they close (I don't get to the train station until about 5:20 and it takes me 25 minutes to get to the salon). They took my appointment! I sat down around 5:55pm and left before 7:15pm. The main lady who greeted me was so kind, as well as the tech working with me. It did burn a little while she was bringing my nails down with that machine (my nails were also pretty thin from a different salon). I told her that the previous salon had my nails lifting within 7 days and she was shocked. She took such extra care with it because of that, which I loved. When working the French tip, she worked quickly but focused which I appreciated because it came out so clean. Their menu says $45 for an acrylic set so I'm not sure how my total came to $82, which was concerning but I'm not confrontational AND I justified it with her taking my last minute appointment and staying 15 min past closing. Rainbow at classy nail does a great job every time! She's the only person I've been able to find who can shape my nails evenly and uniform. I've tried every salon in auburn and federal way and they always manage to come out uneven. Rainbow can do designs or keep it simple, and I always enjoy coming in! The salon is always clean and quiet, and they are taking new safety measures seriously right now afyer opening back up for covid. My only advice would just be to take a little longer on the massage for the pedicure. I've only gotten one once but it only lasted about 30 minutes and my massage portion was probably 2 minutes long. After sadly searching yelp for nail salons in federal way / auburn area, there was only ONE salon that has consistent good reviews and yes, it was Classy Nail. This worried me a tad because where I'm from in California, there are excellent hole in the wall places ALL AROUND. I went to one other one in fed way and had horrible results therefore, was extremely hesitant to take another risk. After doing my research and reading reviews, I'm so glad I picked Classy Nail! The lovely ladies working greeted me and quickly accommodated me when they had time (I did have to wait maybe 10-15 min before I got called in and I made my apt at 4pm, however I didn't mind waiting). My nail technician, P___? (I'm not sure how to spell it but she was this extremely friendly and bubbly Cambodian woman). I showed her the design I wanted for my nails, described the length, how narrow I wanted it, and how thin I wanted my nails to be and she assured me that what I wanted would be done. Another lady took over and did the French tip design and took her time to make sure I had the nails I wanted though it was time consuming (4:15p-6p). The whole time I kept thinking.... wow the technique these women use is soooo different than what I've seen and tbh, I like it a lot better in making sure I have the correct outcome of my nails. One of the women, bless her heart, began to tell me about how expensive that would be while shaking her head no. I personally will not be coming back here. I hate having to leave reviews like this... and I wasn't going to BUT if people are like me and read reviews before going to places, this is important to share. I made a mani/pedi appointment at this salon. Upon arriving, everything seemed good at first. After about 10 minutes into my pedicure, I noticed that the woman doing my nails had a cold. She had a runny nose and kept coughing but because she had already started my pedicure, I decided to just let her finish. While she was cutting my toe nails, she cut so deep into my toe that it started BLEEDING. It hurt so bad that I started pulling my foot away. She pulled it back and kept digging deeper. I realized that she was cutting way too far and before I mentioned it she stopped. She cut my nails super short and I decided not to make a big deal about it because it was too late anyways. Next, something that bugged me (because of COVID) was that all the other workers were talking on their phone on speaker and they all were coughing as well. The owner had her mask halfway on while also speaking to someone on speaker phone. I felt like this was somewhat unprofessional because she was having a loud conversation especially with her mask halfway on. I kept thinking to myself, just don't make a big deal about it. Just don't come back to this salon. BUT... I started having pain in my toe the next day and now two days later I had to get get my toe checked because it has PUS. Yes... she cut so deep that now I have pus coming out of my toe. Thankfully, I got some of the pus taken out and I HOPE I won't have anymore. This has never happened to me before but the thought that it happened because of going to this salon makes me worry about the sanitation with their tools. I do not want to be a "Karen" but dang.... I only went here cause of the good reviews and unfortunately it didn't live up to what I read. Good for all of you that received great service, I just wouldn't feel comfortable returning. read more
