The staff is always very welcoming. Our girls and us love going for the Christmas Santa every year. It has became a tradition for us.

We eat there a lot. Sunday has a plate lunch with meat veggies and desert. Atmosphere is good. They are pet friendly on the deck.

The food was excellent and the service was great and an a great view can't wait to go back

I was in the area for an annual family reunion and this location was recommended for lodging. The lodge was in a good setting that, except for the intoxicated persons yelling outside the lodge rooms, was peaceful. The condition of the assigned room was not pleasant, some of the staff were obviously untrained on customer service and did not think highly of the establishment. The room was not clean in that the carpet was not well vacuumed with even a discarded, bloody diabetic blood test strip remaining on the floor. The door security latch was broken off and inoperable. The mattress cover was plastic rather than fabric, leaving one to sweat if positions were not changed frequently. Two of the four lamps required for adequate lighting were unplugged and one of the power receptacles was defective with no power. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash dispenser in the shower was empty and the combination shampoo/conditioner packs located in the water drinking cups were of low quality. There was an ice bucket but the ice machine had apparently been long before removed from the breezeway that ran between the lodge rooms. And, the the staff was asked about locating the ice machine, the two individuals at the front desk broke into laughter with one recovering sufficiently to say they had a staff ice machine and would give me some. I haven't any idea regarding the quality of food and service within the restaurant; however, there is a large dining area and the patrons park blocking access to the lodge rooms. I was asked by several individuals at the reunion gathering if I would stay at the Lakeshore Lodge again and I had no hesitation with responding in the negative. read more

The only thing this place has going for it is the location on the water. The service is horrible, atmosphere is dingy and unappealing. Food is mediocre at best. I would never visit this place again, mainly due to the people they have employed. Rude and repulsive. read more

Terrible service. The waitress was extremely rude! I was there with a large group of friends. The waitress didn't I'd me nor a 28 year old female but tried to ID my 40 year old wife. When we questioned her logic she told us to leave. read more

Wanted to try a new place and thought it would be nice to sit by the water. That was the only enjoyable part! The server kept saying that she would check with the kitchen to see what the hold up was. We were waiting over an hour for our food. When we finally received our dinner, I was completely disgusted. The potato was lukewarm warm and the Cajun gulf shrimp that I ordered was not even that! I received some small frozen shrimp that had no seasoning and looked like they went to captain D's to get it. I did not eat my meal! My husband's fries were cold and his medium rare steak The salad bar is fresh and has wide variety of options. was well done. I spoke to the manager who said that all the cooks were new and they have had some really big parties. I told her we were there an hour and a half and when we got there, only 6 people were in the facility. Other people were complaining that arrived after us. I will Never go back to this place. The waiter didn't seem to be thrilled to be at work or to even serve us, the food was hot and fresh. We had to have them rewipe the table down and a new set of silverware due to the one set had food on it still. I loved the fried pickles I also ordered the Alfredo with shrimp. The shrimp was fresh, if I had not ordered the shrimp with the cajan seasoning the Alfredo would of been bland, the sauce if home made was bland, hardly any flavor to it. My company ordered the fried catfish. The catfish was hot and fresh but the french fries were cold. It's more a bar then a restaurant. For being in the mild of no where it's good not a I'll be coming back some time good. Just good if I'm out here kayaking and need to eat good. read more

Very disappointing.. view was wonderful and staff was friendly. My food however, was cold. We were there for breakfast. I order the breakfast special (eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast). When my plate came I only had the eggs and hashbrowns. The waitress brought my bacon and told me the toast was on my friends plate‍ yes, like get it off her plate... Such a lovely place, I hope they can get the kitchen in order or hire some better cooks read more

Went for breakfast this morning and sat on the deck looking over the water and it is a great view and atmosphere. Ordered coffee, water with lemon and ordered the breakfast special. 2 eggs fried well done, bacon, hash browns and toast. Got my coffee and water good so far. Then my order arrived and my eggs were runny, bacon was not even half done, hash browns were not brown, toast a single slice was not toasted and was stale. Waitress never came around to refill coffee. There was one other table occupied so no crowds for the kitchen to deal with. Took one bite of egg white, one tiny bite of bacon and couple bites of hash browns, one bite of bread and put that in a napkin. Got up paid my full bill while advising the manager very politely how my breakfast was ordered and what I recieved. She apologized while taking the full payment. Lol, I try to frequent local businesses but that was all for me sadly. The two stars was for the view and atmosphere. read more

If you haven't, you should. Great food, great environment, all with a cold beer. ..only place on the lake. I got the hamburger steak with gravy and onions and it is as good as I have had. You week not be disappointed. Sit on the back deck and enjoy the sunset. read more

We went with friends for their special catfish plate. All four of us ate the same with different choices for sides. Mine came with sweet potato fries accompanied with marshmallow dip (I've never had them served that way before!) but the crown jewel was the asparagus served along with the catfish. Absolutely cooked to perfection! The catfish I had was lightly fried in cornmeal. Plenty of fish with light breading that melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was beautiful all decorated for Christmas with a fireplace and large beautifully decorated Christmas tree full of white lights. This is a stunning restaurant. We are looking forward to going back next time we are in town! read more

We were the only 2 people in the restaurant, but the people were friendly, the food was fantastic, and the view was amazing. I'm a local and this is one of the few restaurants in this area that we eat at regularly. They are open for breakfast, lunch & supper. Food is consistently good. Lots of healthy options along with your fair share of fried food. Alcohol menu is plentiful. My favorites are the margaritas and the pirate's punch. They have live bands most Thursdays-Saturdays along with karaoke one of those nights. Management seems to really care about business. Lakeshore also has a connecting Marina that offers temporary boat parking while you eat along with fuel pumps and docking service. They have porch seating that is peaceful with a scenic view of the Lewis Smith Lake. My ONLY complaint and the reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is the service from some of the waitresses is terrible. We have had some that were wonderful but in the last few months, it's been terrible. She took our drink/food order, brought said drink/food. Never brought refills or missing sauces that were requested with order. Never brought ticket, so we had to ask the cashier for it. Being a former waitress, I usually I give a lot of grace if it is busy but there were maybe 5 table when we were there. read more

Horrible costumer service! I walked in with a dog and was treated like I walked in with a monster, so I left the place but came back to order some drinks and food to go. So I ordered, and I was waiting by the door. Didn't step inside of the restaurant. And the owner's father as I was told ran out and started showing me the law that if it's not a service dog, then the dog can't be there it's scaring the customers. Then 2 costumers walked in and pet the dog smilingly! I've heard him the first time. I wasn't trying to go inside with the dog! I was by the entrance and he was trying to kick me out! After I ordered food to go! And FYI when I walked in, I asked, if it is okay if I order food and the dog would stay here. The answer was yes! So why would you show terrible attitude! I asked, I was waiting, I was polite. Horrible customer service. Horrible owners' parents. Horrible attitude. People need to learn to be more polite, especially if they ran a business! read more

Haven't been here in two years. The quality of the food is still excellent! From breakfast to lunch and dinner it is all very well prepared and presentation is outstanding! There is something for everyone on the menu..a very good selection for all tastes. The bar addition was an outstanding idea. Drinks are reasonable and specialty drinks are tasty. Just got back from here and had a blast! Their food is excellent - prices VERY reasonable. All of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. We were a large noisy group who ordered a lot of drinks and food and all was wonderful. We spent the night and room prices were great and the rooms were clean and comfortable. All rooms overlook the lake. Take a blow dryer (if you use one) and your toiletries. There was bar soap only in the rooms, but that was OK, we travel a lot and have run into this other places. read more

the view was beautiful and the music was great but..... It took them 2 hours to bring us our food (we got simple plates). the servers did NOT come and check on our table. it took them 45 minutes to bring a beer to our table. people arrived there 30 minutes after us and already got their food. also the bathroom was dirty and had a stained up t-shirt and the corner. i DO NOT recommend this place to anyone if you are looking to eat. We always like to support "mom & pop" businesses, but we won't return to this one. It was a red flag when I had to make our reservations by phone & was told that they don't use a computerized booking system. Other issues were the room was freezing, the TV remote didn't work even after they put new batteries in it (that didn't matter much though because the TV only got 5 channels), the phone didn't work (was told they'd had trouble with the phone lines since the last storm!), the "lake" was more like a cow pond, there weren't enough towels, the beds were terrible, the employees were rude, and when we went to the office to ask for blankets (had to walk bc the phone didn't work), the clerk complained that she'd have to bring us some later bc it meant that she'd have to go ALL THE WAY DOWN to the other end of the building to get some. She never brought us any. We were also surprised to find that the balcony was shaky & crumbling and had an unsafe railing. To top off our stay, they told us they had a breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings @8. But when we went to the restaurant to eat, the employees were just arriving for work and the restaurant wasn't even open yet! But to the Inn's credit, our room was clean, it had a kitchenette (a microwave would've been nice), it didn't have bugs, and it was a reasonable price. A big disappointment! read more
