We were so disappointed with the service and the menu that we left without eating. The music was as loud as a road house bar. But they don't sell alcohol. So no good wine with your steak here. They only have white trash dressing for your salad aka ranch and thousand island. They are in the middle of nowhere and nowhere else. Sorry I drove 15 minutes out of my way (both coming and going...so 30 minutes!) to wait 5 minutes in an empty room for 3 waitresses to finish up their gab fest to decide to seat me. Hated it. I order a lunch at least once a week. I always get the lunch steak with a side.Today I called in the order as always and am told they don't have a lunch steak special, so I guided the lady through their menu to show they indeed do have a lunch menu from 11-4. I always add a grilled shrimp skewer for an additional $5 and again she had no clue what I was asking for.As far as the food it is not great, I order for convenience due to the location.Also after ordering the same order every week I do not understand why the price charged every time is different, not much but varies between $1-$2 every time. My wife and I were in the mood for steak, so we found this place. It was our first time at this steakhouse. I ordered the 10-ounce Delmonico steak. I ordered it medium rare along with a baked potato. The server we had was Miranda and she did a good job. Country music in the background added to the ambiance. Eating a steak dinner listening to Luke Bryan, you can't go wrong Food arrived pretty quick but, in all honesty, there weren't a lot of people when we were there. The steak had good flavor and was cooked on point! The only problem I had was the baked potato wasn't as hot as I'd like. When I put butter on a baked potato, I'd like it to be hot enough to melt it. Terrible food, not worth the price. Definitely steer clear. 18 oz "hand-cut" ribeye was at least half fat and gristle. Hush puppies raw on inside. Instead of dropping a new order of hush puppies, they just re-dropped the old order, leaving them soggy with oil. We had a party of 6 and everyone hated their meal. Only decent thing is the salad bar, but that's not enough to justify a visit to the Brandin' Iron. Will not be back. read more

Not sure if the steak was ruined but one bite and my wife instantly spit it out and pushed her plate away. After speaking to the manager Josh it took 10 minutes to peel him away from bragging to others about being a shuttle for Rock the South. He sniffed the meat and said nothing was wrong but instantly turned and went to the kitchen to pull that cut of steak before returning to slightly discount our meal. We had my grandpa's birthday here. The West Point Branding Iron is definitely better than the Fairview one. The servers are really nice here. The food could use some work, but it's definitely still better than the Fairview one in that aspect. The ambiance seemed like it was a thriving and booming place the Sunday I went. I've been a steak guy my whole life and have never ordered a 22oz steak ANYWHERE that I was served two steaks that equaled 22oz. The cook must have truly bumped his head. I ordered the most expensive steak on the menu and got the worst disappointment of steak I've ever been served. I ordered it medium and it was well done. The waitress looked shocked when I told her I couldn't eat it and didn't want anything to replace it. The waitress insisted they make me another steak which I told her no I was good but she brought another one out anyway. At least this time it was (1) steak. I will say the salad bar was the best thing there. My two buddies ordered different steaks and theirs were also horrible. Not many food choices in the area so I see why locals go here but I would not drive out of my way to eat here again. read more

Got a 6oz ribeye with 2oz of steak and 4oz of fat while the other three steaks ordered were about 6oz of steak and very little fat. I had about 4 bites of steak in total. The steak delmonoco was freakin delicious chargrilled goodness, every bite was better than the last. My friend got the 14oz ribeye and it was just the same. If folks are judging Brandin iron for the pure quality of the steak, they'll probably be disappointed. This is not fine dining, this is a cheap steak house. If you're paying $12 for a 10 ounce ribeye and sides, don't expect the highest quality of meat. With that being said, I really love good cheap steakhouses. I don't mind eating a middle grade, thin, well seasoned and decently cooked steak. The salad bar, while simple, always hits the spot too. I like being able to swing by here, pay $12 and get a really good steak dinner. It's definitely not the best steak I've ever had, but it's hard to find a better value steak anywhere. read more

Walked in, didn't look busy but it took a few minutes for someone to seat us. Got the Delmonico steak and baked potato the steak had good taste slightly tough (but in all fairness I don't have that many teeth to chew with) so I may not be the most objective when it comes to toughness. Service was good the wait staff was attentive. Overall a good experience. Prices are reasonable. I would like to try some some of their other food. We will be back. read more

My family and I have been here on several occasions over the years but our recent visit was the one I'm most disappointed with. My husband and I came for a date night on a Friday evening about 5:30pm. While we were immediately seated and the waitress got our drink and dinner order, about 20 minutes into being seated and getting our appetizer, we were asked to moved to different seats to make room for a (second) large dinner party. Apparently we were placed in the party room and were surrounded by loud customers. It's Christmas season and although slightly inconvenient, we've waited tables so we understood. However, our meals definitely showed that the kitchen staff was beginning to be rushed when they made our meals. My husband's steak was over cooked and my fish was heavily over seasoned. I'm not sure what seasoning they use, but I don't remember their food being this salty. The whole experience was disappointing. They used to be a fantastic place to eat. The Branding Iron In West Point is a great place to eat at. They may not serve the most top quality of steak but they cook it to perfection. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help. By the way, if you like catfish, I am a catfish lover. In my opinion the Branding Iron. Has the best catfish in Cullman. read more
