There is a great say, "Fool me once." My husband and I were skeptical when we walked in on a Friday night at 7:30 and there was only one other table sat but we decided to give it a try. I wished we would have walked out instead of paying $54 for one thin ribeye that looked like they bought off of Waffle House. $48 for a petite 5 oz filet Keith NO flavor. So this was not what I was expecting. We just came in from Talledega . We're sweaty, and hot . Been on the go all day , I have convertible hair , I'm sunburnt and dirty from the track . We put our bags down and didn't even change out the nascar shirts . Wanted to eat and head to the room . Well, I was thinking this would be like an Applebees type deal . You know, club sandwich , salads , maybe a spaghetti and meatball . Nope . Some of their main ontrays were half the price of a nights stay and that's a la carte . Kinda odd, This seems to be a family type hotel , there's no kids menu or anything like that . No grilled cheese and chocolate milk . Anyways , we ordered an appetizer , a burger and fries and a pretzel . I had the pretzel and it was good . That sucker was HUGE . My husband got 5 alligator nuggets , and the burger and fries . He said the burger was great .the waiter asked what kinda water we wanted when we sat down ... flat spring or sparkling water ? Um .. just water . Anyways , the food is good I'll give em that but I was really just wanting normal everyday food ... a wrap or something ... not a rack of lamb or lobster or some other Bougee shit . Had a mixed experience here. While the food was phenomenal, the overall service and atmosphere left much to be desired. I ordered the Wissota Burger, which was delicious and exceeded my expectations. However, the wait time for our food was significantly longer than expected, despite the restaurant not being crowded. Our waiter seemingly took his time getting to our orders, and through the night just talked and stayed around a bit more than what was needed. There was also water dripping from the ceiling onto the table. Despite the high quality of the food, the service and the environment did not match the premium prices, which was disappointing. I'd probably just order the food to my room next time. read more

While the food is good, the ambience is nice, service is good. Something to note even in an empty restaurant with a reservation we were seated at an extremely small table for 2 , that really didn't accommodate our plates. Dress code does say casual, not roll out of the bed in pajamas in slides. While you might not can control the attire of guests maybe consider placing those that gave more attention to the appearance than the bed wear in public than directly beside each other. This takes away from the experience of dining out and for a casual restaurant (steak house) that is nearly $200 for 2 that only included 2 beers. I don't think the expectation was that high. I expect that at an Apple B's but not at this price point. read more

The steaks and mushroom risotto were great and so were the blue cheese fries so I am still going to give five stars (even though the Brussels sprouts were meh and undercooked so I would pass on that.) Unfortunate visit. We walked in and were given water immediately. Our server didn't show up until after I asked the hostess if we could order drinks and appetizers. That was 20-25 minutes after we arrived. It took another 5 minutes for the server to show up as we were putting on our jackets to leave. We heard the high top table next to us asking a second time where food/appetizers are. There were only about 8 tables in total there. Not sure we will go back to try it given the lack of service with an associated potential price tag. Instead we went over to The National. Disappointed. My husband and I drove over an hour to eat here. $219 meal. $100 of that was the entree proteins and they were cooked horribly. Cold $54 Ribeye, severely over done Duroc Pork, raw Brussels with cold shaved Parmesan all over the top. Its sad that our meal and tip was $285 and the best thing we received was mashed potatoes. No recommendations from me and no return visit. I usually give places 2 chances but we were told after the fact that they had a trainee on the grill. that would have been nice to know beforehand. The atmosphere is lovely. Service was top notch. My favorite appetizer was the fried olives. The mushroom risotto was to die for. My steak was a disappointment. The cut wasn't what I expected for the price. It had a lot of gristle in it. I wouldn't order it again and I'm a steak girl. I did try my friend's sea bass and it was amazing!!! read more

Service was excellent. Cocktails were hit or miss depending on what you ordered. Appetizer, side, and bread were good. Salad was plain. Steak was overcooked but had great flavor. Lamb was anemic. Prawns were the worst. Barely could choke it down. Very under seasoned and quite frankly disgusting. Overall food was 3 stars. Restaurant clean and it is nice that they take reservations. read more

What a surprise! Took a chance and drove 1 hour to try this new steakhouse out and it did not disappoint ! Our server, Kyle, was so attentive and excellent from start to finish. The menu is well rounded and has some different items not found on a typical steakhouse menu. Lobster bisque was very tasty and my filet was cooked perfectly. Blue cheese risotto was shareable for 4 persons easily. Raspberry tiramisu was a nice fun finish to the meal. Cocktails were expertly executed. Will definitely return for a great meal! read more

The drinks were delicious and so were the appetizers. The service was among the worst I've ever experienced. We never received our entrees as we were waiting on them for two hours before we decided to pay for the drinks and apps then leave. As we were walking out, local patrons asked us "what happened" and we explained the excessive wait. We were told it was a consistent problem and they were only there to give it a final chance. We recently visited the new Wissota in Cullman to celebrating our 60th birthdays with friends. We expected the price point but were shocked with the poor quality of beef served as well as the bland poorly prepared sides and bitter salad. The service was also poor. My Greek chicken was so tough that it was not edible and I had to come home and eat leftovers after spending $130. Such a disappointment! Very few patrons on a Saturday night in such a nice new restaurant speaks volumes. read more

The service was terrible. Went for daughter's birthday. My wife's steak was seriously over cooked (shoeleather) asked for rare. They took it back to make another. All food came out same time. The rest of us finished eating and still wife's steak did not come. We asked and was only told it was coming. We finished eating ready for tab, then wife's steak arrived 45 minutes later. We sent it back and asked it be removed from bill. Manager came out with the steak and not happy we returned it. Manager's reason for lateness was since they had to cook another that order went to bottom of the cook list. Is there anything more stupid for a restaurant to do after serving all other food at the table. A good establishment would quickly cook to fix a screw up. Bad management, no plan to return and never recommend this place. We love a good steak, price never been a consideration eaten at some of the best steakhouse in multiple states. We stayed at the Cobblestone Hotel on June 28 and decided to eat at the Wissota Chophouse. This place is way overpriced for the nothing special about the food. Don't order medium well steak. Had to send back 3 times and the last time it was burnt like shoe leather. I eat my steak medium rare and the steak that was supposed to be medium well was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.
