I like the new look the inside of this alley has, the employees are all nice ans the bar/food area is fantastic. My only complaint is that the lanes need to be oiled for open bowling. If I'm coming in and paying 30 to 35 and hour for a lane, the lane should be maintained properly. Not completely dry. read more

I had a great time however I went to order food with my friend, she placed her order with the kind gentleman and I was standing right next to her ready to place my order next. He was getting her drink and the girl with orange hair popped up and took the 2 men's order that were literally standing behind me. So I stood there at the register as she's talking and joking with them, taking their order, pours their drinks, and cashes them out. And when they walk away her whole demeanor changed as she asked me what I'd like to order. It was just soo strange and extremely unprofessional to literally talk over me like I was just standing there for nothing. I got my ball drilled here and couldn't be happier! Jimmy is an expert at fitting and drilling. He spent a good 10 minutes with me to make sure we got the right measurements. He made small talk and was very pleasant. I wish I would have bought my ball here, but he still took care of me. The lanes are good, we have taken our kids here a few times and always enjoy our experience. Go here if you want some good family fun in a bright, clean and friendly environment. read more

These lanes are modern and kept up very well; everything works and is clean. And they seem to keep the lanes oiled regularly, which is good, and there is not too much oil, which is also good. Higher-priced than Harbor Lanes a little ways down Jefferson, also in Saint Clair Shores, and smaller, too. Parking is problematic, as there just aren't a lot of spaces available here. Counter help are very nice, and, well, helpful. A drawback here for me is the fact that this bowling alley does not serve either beer or liquor. Yes; it's staggering to consider, but this is a bowling alley where there is no drinking while you're bowling. That's probably a minus to a lot of people, and something you might want to know before you get in your car and come over. There's a little snack bar with the usual low-effort fare that bowling lanes offer. That doesn't imply the food quality is bad, but rather, limited in it's scope. It is, however, a bit expensive for the portions you receive. Despite not being able to get a drink, I like this bowling alley, and I'll return. read more

Lakeshore Lanes is a tiny bowling alley surrounded by... well, not much else, save for some houses and the trees hiding the lake. I'd put the number of lanes here at about 16. What LL has sacrificed in number of lanes, they've gained in maintenance. The lanes and the entire facility is well cared for. Friends of mine who bowl regularly like to do open bowling every now and again here. It's inexpensive, and the people that come here are just great. It's really nice to see families getting their kids into bowling... it just seems like it's a dying sport. It's really just a charming mom and pops bowling alley without all the fluff. You won't find glow bowling and a bunch of teens smoking stolen cigarettes here on a weekend. There's no bar inside. Actually, they really only have vending machines - no kitchen. For me this is a plus, since a bag of chips is less than a dollar, and way cheaper than bowling alley food. If you're looking for a bowling alley without all the flashing lights - a bare bones, comfortable and friendly place that you can really just experience the zen of bowling, then look no further! read more

Absolutely terrible... horrible business model. We booked my daughter's birthday party here and the day off the party we arrived and they changed everything we agreed upon. They did not even have enough chairs for our party after we told them how many people we would be having. My poor mother had to stand the whole time and they did nothing to try to make our experience better. The older guy running the place doesn't care about service and was unapologetic. We will never step foot in this place again. I suggest all of you book your parties elsewhere as you will be mislead by these people. read more

Went with a group after dinner for my birthday. My friends who are bowlers were really impressed. They said the lanes were excellently maintained. We went late when the leagues were ending. Took the kids there on a Monday afternoon for their "snow day"... The place is very clean and well kept... Even the bathrooms are nice, clean, modern. The older man who I assume runs the joint was very patient with our group considering we had 4 kids with us... He explained the basics to the kids and even through in some humor... My family and I have been here before and usually we get thru bowling ok. this time around The owner of the place didn't want our 8 and 10 year olds to use the bumpers giving us a hard time, didn't want us to use the 6 pound bowling balls because they where special!!!!!!! I was very unhappy with the treatment my grandkids received at this bowling alley and would NOT recommend it to any grandparents looking for a nice outing with your grandchildren! The owner refused to put the bumpers up for my youngest grandson, even though we asked several times, and he continually came over to our table to lecture both my grandsons on how they weren't allowed to stand next to the bowling ball machine to wait for their ball for their 2nd throw! I have never seen that in a bowling alley in my life! It was ridiculous! He even went so far as to lecture my husband for being on the lane with my youngest grandson - who is only 8 - in order to show him how to throw the ball. Both my grandsons had never been bowling before but were so upset by all this that we decided to leave after only one game even though we paid for two! ..... I have bowled at many houses, from NY, WA, OR, and CO. I have bowled on many leagues as well, sometimes multiple leagues during a week. I have to say I have never heard of an owner of a bowling lanes asking the league to bowl faster until I joined a league at Lake Shore Lanes. Expecting a very casual and social 5 man team league to complete three games within 2.5 hours is absurd. Also, my step-daughter wanted to have a ball plugged and drilled to fit her. The owner refused to do the job, asking "what was the point?" Granted the ball was left handed and needed to be re-drilled to be right-handed. I will finish out my current league, but I will never bowl at or do business with Lake Shore lanes again. read more

I booked my daughter's birthday party here and when I called to drop a deposit, he told me he told someone else they can have it for that day/time. He told the woman this over the phone, no contract, no deposit 12 days after he told me we were booked for that day and after I sent out invitations. Let me start by saying, I have never left a review for anything (setting up account, them having my email, etc) but felt I needed to for this place. We Never even made it to the place. Called to see if they could accommodate a 12yr old birthday party on a Saturday afternoon (making sure they don't have leagues). Gentleman on the phone starting asking child's name, how many kids, etc. no problem. Then asked where he/she went to school. I stated that we lived in SCS and that should be good enough, I was told that we couldn't do business. I asked for the manager and he said sure, and then said hello I am the manager and go somewhere else. Dirty, rude, un-oiled lanes. I cannot say enough bad things about this bowling alley, the old man behind the counter I believe his name was Jim, was rude profiled me and my friends because we have a few tattoos. Stood over my friends and I while we tried to bowl, watching us like children even though we had shown nothing but politeness and respect since walking in the door. He continued to monitor and consistently making excuses to harass us, while league bowlers there are trying to apologize for him and tell us we're not the problem. It's amazing this place is still open with someone like that allowed to run it. We've come her many times over the past 3 or 4 years, and are never disappointed. The staff is wonderful and helpful. It is always very clean. It is very easy to keep an eye on your kids as well. Nice to go to a bowling alley that you don't feel like you're in a hole. Nice and bright in side. I highly recommend it to families and kids. Great place! read more

Never treated so badly I'm still in shock.. I wish I could give no stars.. this place should be shut down.. horrible service.. I went for my first time for the night bowling with all my family.. we spent a ton of money on food an some of the people bought drinks.. A lot of money we brought in to them.. As we were leaving everyone payed for their games.. they all left as me an my husband we were last an we payed.. as we leave a guy yells... no you can't leave someone didn't pay? We said we seen everyone from our party pay. We were very nice an said that's ok we will have everyone come back an check.. (about 5 to 6 men) who were working that night arguing badly with us.. we were so kind as we are good Christian people..we had everyone from our party come back an everyone had payed.. an told them exactly how much money they gave them.they started screaming literally screaming an not one of them cared.. we were not lying we asked them to go over their security camera to see we all payed.. an all they said was you can't leave until someone pays.. I was not going to pay for something I didn't do wrong.. one of the men or the machine messed up.. finally one of the guys just screamed so loud an violently grabbed change out of his pocket slamming the table..saying he will pay.. I asked for the manager they said he left for the night. I called later that night because it was so upsetting an asked if they found out what happened? They finally said it was their fault an he hung up on me.. it was so upsetting I cried for days.. the disrespect an cruel way everyone treated my family.. I called again so I could speak with the manager an he answered an said this was him.. I told him the whole story an he said he was there that night.. I was confused an said they told me you left.. he said no an I was there the whole time.. So I said you were one of the men screaming at me an didn't help me? He said I was in the wrong an I don't care if you come back.. an hung up on me..I'm so hurt over this.. I'm a Shawano resident an I will never ever come back.. NEVER BOOK A PARTY HERE!!!! Its way overpriced... The old guy makes comments about the kids stepping over the line when bowling. The price you agree upon for the party is never the same when you get there. I bought my own food and the old guy came in to inspect it because he didnt like the smell. I found the reviews AFTER I booked my son's party and I have to say I was REALLY, REALLY, REALLY nervous. However, I have to say we had a VERY pleasant experience. The owners were extremely nice and flexible. Some guests arrived late & they added kids to the game without a hitch. Only 2 guests didn't show but my quote was still adjusted on the spot to be less than I was told. I thought it was very reasonable & the kids all had a blast. I would definitely recommend this place and book another party here. The place IS super clean & bright, for a bowling alley.
