This is a nice neighborhood bowling alley. They have a good amount of lanes. The have a snack bar that has decedent bar food -- hot dogs, fries, etc. -- but it isn't spectacular. There is a really large bar area with pool tables, electronic dart boards, and those shuffle-board games with the sand on the table. Everyone I have encountered here has been very friendly. Parking can be a challenge. The lot goes around the building and there aren't a lot of spaces considering how large the place is. We've had to forego spending time here because we couldn't get a parking space. read more

The food was good, the ambiance worked well, the music was perfect, it wasn't too crowded, and the technology was user friendly. These things made it a lot easier to just enjoy bowling with my family. I like being able to drive up, park, get a lane and shoes, grab food, and bowl. Don't go on a Tuesday and expect to play pool. Don't expect anyone to tell you or any signs. It was poorly handled. The sad part is our group had more drinks and food than the people they kicked us off of the table for. I won't ever spend another dime in this place. read more

We came here for a work party, and had some food prepared by the kitchen, and was thoroughly impressed. The pretzels and cheese where large and tasty, and very tender. The quesadillas were also tasty too. The drinks were a bit weak, but other than that, no complaints. I'd definitely come back. I haven't been bowling in a few years, so a suggestion from a Hazel Park friend who is now obsessed with Madison Park Bowl said we needed to come. As I drove there, I got the text: "We're in the bar in the back". I pulled up to a tucked away bowling alley on John R and only four cars in the parking lot. A little weird, I thought, but it was a holiday, and it was 2 pm. I enter the alley, and a whole room unfolds before me, a well-maintained set of lanes, with nobody on them, with a whole lot of character. It felt like I was back at the lanes as a child when my mom was on a league.It oozes history and the culture and good times at Madison Bowl permeate the walls. I took a moment to take in the giant empty museum of American culture and strolled to the bar in the back, where my friends sat talking to the bartender. The bar is almost a separate entity, but it fits in so well with the theme of the alley. Surrounding the bar are darts, pool tables, shuffleboard tables, and a very nice fireplace in the middle of the room. Drinks are cheap, with a few on tap and a big selection of craft beer in bottles. Presented with a menu, we ordered sliders, nachos, and fries to eat while we bowled. The sliders were very tasty, simple but executed well. The nachos too. Their french fries were a standout, with the good ranch (Sala W was right). Very crispy. hey have a few different leagues, including a lousy bowlers league, and dart teams. Bowling was cheap, I didn't do as terribly as I expected, and I got to experience the wonder that is the MPB! read more

I absolutely love this place. I go there after work every Friday and have never been disappointed. If you're lucky enough to have Liz as your bartender, she is the best. She's extremely personable and is the biggest sweetheart. Always happy to see her face when I walk through the door. If youre looking for a good game of bowling, pool and a couple drinks, this is the place. Add Liz to the equation, you're in for a great night. Despite driving past this place about 1.2 billion times ... I had never graced them with my disgusting bowling skills until this past weekend. The bowling alley was your typical local lanes but the bar/lounge in the back (front?) was why I will keep coming back! I would describe it as an adult low budget Chuck Cheese. Huge space with a great ski lodge, cozy vibe - large fireplace in the center. There were 10 or so dart boards, 3 shuffleboard tables, and atleast 4 pool tables. Not to mention it was (nearly) dead during our visit so my party had our run of the room. Drinks were extremely reasonable as well. Great bar food! We got a round of fries and nachos and loved them so much we did it again. Will be back soon, good local spot to bowl or not bowl - whichever floats your boat. read more

While this place doesn't look like much from the outside this place is a jewel in the rough. The owner really needs to advertise this place more. The lanes are very clean, as is the bar and game area. With a ton of dart boards and shuffle boards there is plenty to do. Very friendly staff and nice holiday touch with the leg lamp in the bar! The first time we pulled up to Madison Park Bowl, I wasn't sure if we were in the right place. Coming down John R, it is right on the southwest corner of where the road intersects with 696. The sign is super tiny, not lit up, and not on a side visible to John R. The parking "lot" is a joke, as there are multiple crater-sized holes that will flatten your tire if you pass over them. The alley is nothing special - it's kind of your average dirty bowling alley. The people who run the cash register always seem super confused, like they don't know how to count change or run a credit card. But they're always friendly and they try to help you out when you have a question. The price is right - you can get a family pack - 2 hours of bowling & a pitcher of soda - for $36. Split between 6 people and you've got yourself a fun, inexpensive night out. Their jukebox kind of sucks since each song is $1 -SO ridiculous! But it's all in good fun. Also, the bar has Coors Light, Blue Moon and 1 other beer (I can't remember) on tap. There are waitresses around they alley to take your order, or you can go back into the bar to get your drinks. Prices are a little high - $13 for a pitcher of Blue Moon, but it is what is it. Their televisions boast that they have a snack bar but this is a lie! You can either order pizza from Pizza Connection or order Thai food from some little hole in the wall across the street. My friends got the Thai food and said it was good, but a pain because it was a cash only restaurant. Anyways, Madison Park Bowl is a middle of the road joint...a little run down, but good for some bowling and drinking! read more

Have been to this place many times. The bartender during my visit was very unwelcoming and rude. I believe her name is Liz and she made my friend feel very out of place. He was just trying to pay his tab and she was very rude about him cashing out. She used deragatory words and was disrespectful to my friend who was just trying to pay. The place is kind of a dump . . . for sure. However, we joined a shuffleboard league here and it has been a ton of fun. Kim at the bar always takes great care of us. It does not hurt that drinks are so cheap. Shuffleboarding (something I have not really ever done before) was actually a ton of fun. As far as dives go, this is a pretty cool place. read more

Great times to be had here. They have a full bar in the back and the drinks are super cheap. You can get a picture of beer as well for around 10 bucks. They do not have food but you can order a pizza to be delivered to your bowling alley. The shoes you have to rent are new and not stinky. read more

The best spot I know to bowl at in the area. Great lanes, still wood, and well-priced drinks. The atmosphere is what seals it, though. The bar area is a swanky throwback to the 70s, complete with pool and shuffleboard. Definitely worth the trip! read more
