Realizing that I've never given these dear ladies a review, I feel it's time. When we first got Basil, we looked online for a reputable groomer. Shih-tzus aren't the easiest to groom at home and their hair requires a lot of maintenance. The Yelp reviews and word of mouth were outstanding for Lakeside Grooming. We've been taking him there since he was a pup, just over four years ago. When we moved away from Lakeside, we thought it best to find a place closer. That didn't happen. The places we found were dirty and the dogs sounded as though they were always in distress. It has proven to be worth the drive to go back to Lakeside because the place looks and smells clean and the dogs are always quiet. It's just icing on the cake that the ladies know and love him. Although their prices have continued to increase more than most, I feel it's still worth it.

They are so friendly here and do such a great job! Very good prices and you can get an appointment quickly. Highly recommend!!

I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else here in East County. Unfortunately I'm moving to Texas so I'll have to find new groomers.

This is the only place we'll take our wonky little rescue monster for a full grooming experience. Our little guy, Jackson, is blind, and was a few years old when we got him. Underweight and overly bitey from poor past treatment, he's gotten much better, but still has a lot of loose screws when it comes to grooming. Thank goodness Jan is willing to take him on the regular and stick with him! Making appointments within a week's time usually happens without difficulty because they have about five wonderful ladies working in the shop. Jackson comes back mat free, clean and sweet-smelling in three or four hours. No nicks in spite of being skittish; nails trimmed, ears cleaned - what more could we ask for?! We've been bringing both our dogs here since we got them, and are very satisfied every time. read more

Jan is the only groomer I would ever use. She knows how to groom my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel because she owns and knows the breed. She is patient, kind and reliable. Very reasonably priced too so for me it's worth the drive from mid city. My dog loves going to see her and she looks and smells amazing when I pick her up! read more

These ladies are experienced, compassionate and amazing dog groomers. They can handle even the most difficult dog for nail trims. My elderly chihuahua has congenital knee problems and other groomers have actually left bruises on insides of her knees from pulling her legs up too high to reach nails. .these ladies never do that are are so gentle that she doesnt even cry now. They walk around shop holding her under one arm, rocking her and talking to her while they trim...she loves them! She kisses them when they are done! Their prices are reasonable. Be sure to bring CASH OR CHECKBOOK...they cannot accept credit or debit. You don't need appointment for nail trims, but they request you call first...they are a busy shop and need notice. I have finally found my groomer and won't go anywhere else! read more

It was my bichon poodle's first time at Lakeside Grooming and they were GREAT!!! When I first called to set up an appt, they were very pleasant on the phone and they got him in within a couple of days. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is VERY friendly. As soon as they were done, they called me and when I came back my little fur ball looked great!!! Happy doggie....happy owner...happy customer. Def coming back! Thanks again ladies! read more

I've taken my Dog here twice since I've adopted her and I couldn't be happier with the services they provide! Both times they were able to take my dog the same day! Which was good because my dog was a MESS! Lol both times she has come back smelling amazing and looking fabulous with her little bow. They don't nickel and dime you like other places. I've been going here for several years. My Lucy is 15 now and very delicate. Lois and the other wonderful ladies always take such good care of Lucy. They groom several of my other neighbors pets as well. They know the pets like a day care would know your kid. Amazing! If they are booked up for weeks they always put me on a cancellation list and always take care of my dog.. The ladies are such good and hard working Groomers! Lucy and I love this place. read more

I had heard of this place from several of my neighbors. I have to admit I was nervous taking my puppy in because he is unpredictable and snaps without reason... 3 hours later when I picked up my puppy Homer, not only did he look so handsome and so clean, He was HAPPY and I was told he could come back again!! Our 2nd time bringing our pups, Coco and Marley, to these wonderful ladies. Couldn't be happier. Our pups were a mess the first time we brought them in and they took their time and made our pups gorgeous. Our Marley has always been terrified of being brushed. The women working at this business were super friendly and helpful. Although these ladies are very busy, I got in quick because of a cancellation. My dog who is usually reserved was comfortable and at ease. They did a beautiful job shaving her and trimming her face. One of the women was trimming a Schnauzer correctly, which is impressive. The St. Patrick's bow was a nice touch. I will definitely go again. The prices were standard. read more

These ladies are terrific! Very nice, respectful, loving to our two dogs and talented. We have been going here for 4 years even though we have moved 10 miles from their store. They always put cute little bows on them. They are very knowledgeable about different hair cuts and go out of their way to do extras and to make it more comfortable for our dogs. Very small business but very friendly workers. Hans is a long haired dachshund with skin issues and sensitive bowed legs which makes it hard to trim his legs & toenails without causing pain. We keep him trimmed so he isn't miserable in the summer. They did a fabulous job on him. He looks great, feels wonderful and has not chewed on himself since they groomed him. He will be going back. We actually went to a dog grooming place called 'Bonnie's' on Winter Gardens, but were told to leave as our dog is too heavy at 45 lbs. They told us to go to Lakeside grooming that could handle larger dogs. They accomidated me the day I called, and cut my standard poodle puppy PERFECTLY the way I wanted him, and the price was fair as well. I will continue to bring Zeke to this place, and I'm very glad I went here as opposed to Bonnie's. read more

Took my aunt's little Angel in for a day of grooming. I was lucky to get an appointment. She was so pampered and looked too adorable. Her clipping was perfect and nails we're done just right. She really enjoyed herself and layed around like a queen for 3 weeks afterwards. read more

They do a great job and are very affordable. I brought in my bratty springer spaniel who has been banned before from a groomer and they didn't complain or seem to have an issue with him at all. I much prefer them to a impersonal chain. Only downside is they don't take credit cards but they do take checks so I guess that works. read more

They have trimmed my pug's toenails several times. They never make a big deal of it (if you have a pug you know how toenail-clipper-phobic they can be!) even told me he did good -you know, for a pug ; ) Haven't used their grooming services, but Romeo's nails look great! read more

My first time there and I surprisingly had the best experience ever! Reason I say surprisingly is because I knew that it was a smaller and older style place and sometimes you just don't know what you may get from a "mom and pop" place. They outshined any place I had taken my baby! The workers made me feel comfortable as soon as I showed up because of the affection and care they showed my girl. I will go to them all the time now. Goodbye PetsMart or Petco. The high prices and although good job, not too much loving care. read more

Flooded my phone with excessive texts then cancelled on ME the last minute. So unprofessional and rude. They offered a minimal credit after their cancellation but not worth my time or effort. I don't recommend this company and their unprofessional business practices.
