He seemed nice enough, and informed me of a few things concerning the septic tank that I didn't know about when we bought the house a few years ago. Problem was he asked me if my wife wears the pants in our relationship. This was prompted by me saying I would talk to my wife concerning something he informed me about (as married couples do for news that involves their house). I could have let that slide as a poorly timed joke if it weren't for him then telling me that he believes women do not belong in the military, police, or as fire fighters. This was stated when I received a message from my coworker and upon me telling him I needed to go assist her, he decided to tell me that viewpoint as he took offense to the idea of a woman working for the military. Having worn the uniform myself, I can say some of the best people I ever served with were women, and this person's viewpoint would not be welcomed in today's military. I told him I respectfully disagree and went back inside to let him finish because at this point I needed to walk away from him. When I called to let the company know the employee sent out was sexist and was freely sharing his views, I was never even asked what was said and their response was "ok I'll tell my boss." Now I would hope my complaint wouldn't fall on deaf ears, but the response to me felt like my complaint would just be "filed away". Due to that, I believe I'll use someone else next time. I do not want anyone who believes women are the lesser sex, or the business that employs them without seeming to care, in my house around my wife or two daughters.
