Doesn't look like much from the front but as you enter the beautiful back lake side of this beautiful inn and see how beautiful, peaceful and quaint this is. We rented out all 10 rooms for an annual gathering. Each room has its own eclectic feel. There are rooms with two bedrooms, there are rooms with one bedroom. There is a continental breakfast area near the main office that also overlooks the lake. The owner and his wife are very nice and friendly individuals. They make you feel like family. We will most definitely come here again and recommend them to people who I k ow would enjoy this peaceful Gem. read more

If you want a cookie cutter, resort style chain hotel, back out of this driveway and make a left to go to Orlando or a right to go to Melbourne. AND You will miss a charming, one of a kind, Americana stay. A restored 1950's drive up motel, you are offered spectacular lakefront views and breezes amid the rustle of palms. Owners are more than pleasant - we had2 situations in which they provided kind and pleasant assistance. The Cafe is closed due to Covid, but we brought back meals and ate in the lakefront screen house while watching the sun set. The room was spotless, the bath tiny but remodeled. We were in#4, a suite with a lake view. 1950's furniture added to the ambiance, and I loved the pre Disney Floridian prints. A bit short on plugs to handle today's electronics, and no clock - which did us good. Turn the 'tronics off and forget the current time .... just enjoy! read more

This is a great little gem of a motel in the St. Cloud area. It's right off the main road so it's not hard to get into Kissimmee, Orlando, or Disney. It's also not a terribly long drive to Cocoa or Cape Canaveral. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. The dock is a great place to sit with a beer and watch the sunset. read more

Okay. So St. Cloud is a very small country town. I suppose if you have to stay in a motel in St. Cloud this might be your best option. I just stayed there 8 days. That was too long. However, I am accustomed to full service, big city hotels... Pros: This is probably the nicest hotel in St. Cloud. The people who run it are very nice, country folks. The cafe serves a perfectly nice and cheap breakfast (other meals too which I didn't try.) In the non-summer months there is a nice patio where you could have a good meal overlooking the lake. Fresh paint and decor on the inside give the ellusion of a refurbished hotel. On a cute lake with ducks for the kids to feed. Nice flatcreen TVs in room with lots of channels. Cons: This place is old, a little run down and VERY rustic. It's sort of clean, depending on your standards. I am a clean freak so the place freaked me out - to me it was NOT clean. In the 2 bedroom suite there is no AC in one room. It get's hot. Shower leaked everyday onto floor. No bath for little ones. There are no screens on windows that hardly even open. If you do want some fresh air I hope you like bugs. The cafe keeps odd hours. If you want a snack after 2PM your in trouble. If you arrive after the cafe closes you have to track down the inn-keeper. I guess this is typical for small hotels but not something I am used to. I arrived at 9:00 PM and woke some poor guy up who lives onsite. read more

We were passing through on our way to the Keys. We stayed at Lakeside Inn and found it so perfect and charming that we returned for another stay on our way back to Orlando. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we were received with courtesy and kindness. The view from the Inn onto the Lake was fantastic. There is a dock and covered patio to sit, read or eat. It was a perfect idyllic setting. If you find yourself in St.Cloud,Orlando or passing through I would highly recommend a stay at Lakeside Inn. read more

Very clean and brought up to date inside rooms. Hot water could use some work being it takes ten minutes for it to get warm. Beds were ok. Very comfy feel to the place. I would stay again for sure. read more

This place was perfect for a nights stay and it was clean. However, there were some issues. We checked in late and went to go get dinner. When we got back to get into bed we found bugs in our bed (not bed bugs, but bugs). We tried to go to the office to speak to someone since all the lights were still on. As we were standing their knocking and ringing the doorbell the lights inside were turned off on us. I left a very honest review on booking.com (the website we booked through) and about 5 hours later I get two very angry voicemails from the owner. I called him back and he immediately started yelling at me and told me that if I did not take down the review and apologize to him and on the website he would be contacting his lawyers. I reserved a room here for a vacation without even seeing the hotel and Wow, my boyfriend and I feel in love with the place .When we first arrived the lady who I believe was the owner was so sweet and friendly. She had told use the people who stay in our room the night before wanted to stay so she upgraded us to a suite without a extra charge. The room was charming and super clean but the best part is the lake. The view was amazing, and the sunset was breathtaking. I and my girl friend were coming back from Key West. It was almost 3:30 am. I was too tired to get to my place. So, we started to find motel wherever closed to. As soon as i found the number of this motel, i just called them. Although it was 3:30 am, owner picked up my phone call and he offered us a room. Room was way far cleaner than we thought and the price was way less than their facility. Especially, owner was so kinda and sweet. In the morning, what we couldn't believe even we were watching was the scenery of lake. We were so speechless because it was really beautiful. Also, breakfast that owners daughter made was perfect for us. After few weeks that we stopped by, we visited to this motel again for bbq. Actually, we brought all things for bbq. but it was the most memorable things that i have made in FL life. I really wanted to like this place. Found it on the Internet. Lake pictures looked amazing. I booked two nights because my wife and I were driving in from Miami for a symposium in St. Cloud. The 1st red flag came when the owner -- who, indeed, is very nice -- wasn't sure of the price and tried to charge us more than what we booked it for. He did acquiese to our original price. The confusion was disorganization and lack of communication with whoever took our reservation. The 2nd red flag came when I tried our room's deadbolt and it didn't line up properly with the side hole. It couldn't lock into place. I contacted the owner and was told "You're the 1st one who complained about it." Nevertheless, he repaired it. The 3rd red flag -- and deal killer -- came the 1st night we stayed there. While the Internet shows pictures of the lake in the rear of the Inn, what it doesn't show is a view from the front of the inn, and that's for a reason. The Inn is located less than a quarter mile off of US192 - the main east/west thoroughfare running through Kissimee/St. Cloud. There is a constant trum of traffic noises even with the window's shut. It was a cold evening, mid-forties. We flipped on the wall unit A/C for heat. For some reason it is mounted near the ceiling, and only reachable with a chair. The unit sounded like an industrial-size vacuum cleaner. We even shut the door leading from the front section, where the AC is, to the bedroom. That failed to quench the noise to an acceptable level. I managed to sleep for 2 hours, but couldn't stand it anymore. I turned off the A/C, but now the traffic noise was too irritating, and the mini-fridge made a constant, low-gurgling sound. It was unbearable (not to mention, cold). I slept no more, my wife managed a little on/off sleep. The next day I told the owner. His response was "You're the 1st one who complained about the refridgerator." I'm assuming the AC & traffic noise complaints weren't new to him. I had had it at that point. Even though the 2nd night was paid for, I gave him back the key (didn't even attempt to get a refund, I just wanted out of there.) After that evening's seminar I bit the bullet and drove back to Miami. You couldn't pay us to stay at this place again. If I could give the Lakeside Inn & Cafe a zero rating , I would. read more

Cute place! Not luxury, but certainly comfortable. Our hosts were very accommodating and the overall experience was pleasant. The rooms are small, but cozy and clean; the lake view is wonderful. We'd go back - and probably will if we're ever in that area again. read more
