Lunch was included as part of the Airboat ride, we were all hungry after and had an OK meal here. The worst part was almost everything was over-salted and what would have been a good burger and fries was ruined by the overly generous dosing of salt. For future customers I would order with no salt and add to your own taste. The potato salad also had something like sour cream and onions added to it that was too strong in flavor and we only had a couple bites before throwing the rest away. You order at the gift shop which is nice and air conditioned but you eat in an enclosed outdoor space with a fan. Pulled Pork Sandwich: The beans I got as sides were really good, the bun was a nice soft brioche and you can choose your toppings so I added lettuce and pickles to help cut some of the saltiness. It's a pretty meat-packed sandwich and tasted fine. Hot Dog: This was a lot bigger than normal and perfect for our kids to split. Tasted great. read more

We came here for lunch after we did the Boggy Airboat tour since it is conveniently located at the location. I believe you can order food here without having tickets to the airboat rides (but double-check that before you come). You order inside at the gift shop at a cash register. They have menus right by the line to check out the menu before ordering. The woman at the register was nice. We settled on ordering BLTs and ribs. I'm a huge BLT fan, and this one was really good! The ribs were also good. They supply a few different types of bbq sauce, and they each were good, but I preferred the spicy one. Also, the BLTs were really big, and you can easily split them between two people. We sat outside, which was the only seating option. It was an indoor/outdoor space, but open so let's say plenty of bugs were flying around. I would eat here again if we were coming to do the airboat tour. read more

We live in Poinciana and we have been here since 2001. We just found out about this little BBQ gem. First thank you for being pet friendly. The ambiance was quant and nice. Not a big place for the food but is is great for groups. The food was good for fast food BBQ but was restaurant quality BBQ. We are making this a monthly ritual with our two dogs. They also have a nice w park area that is paved and good for wheel chairs, bring my mom next time she visit. Plus they have airboats for paid rides. It was an expensive meal (sandwiches, nuggets, rib basket and 3 lemonades = $60-$70). The taste was good but again our choices may not have been what they are known for. You can't beat the beauty of the place and friendly service. It's over 18 miles off of the turnpike. I thought this place was great. Service was average to slow but we had a big group. I had the chicken tender plate and thought it was yummy, they had lots of barbecue sauce choices. The fries were yummy and salty. The tater tots were also a big hit. Everybody also loved the gator bites & fried pickles, such a treat. I was told the burger was very yummy. It was served on a brioche bun and looked very fresh. We ate out side and were bothered by some black wasp looking bugs but if you eat inside you should be fine. We had an appointment for a boat ride we were running late because of car rental issues. We called ahead to them as they close the restaurant earlier than are appointed time (which is my biggest complaint as I would have bought more after the boat ride). They were more than willing to take an order on the phone and had it ready for us when we arrived. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. We also got some ribs which also were tops. Thus place is in the middle of nowhere next to the air boat tour and past a cattle farm. Definitely try the fried gator meat. It is really juicy and crisp. The waitress said it was freshly caught!I'm just a tourist so I cannot tell if she is joking or not. What they say about gator tasting like chicken is mostly true. Are we in the matrix? Jokes aside, you should try the swamp cabbage. Since I'm asian, I really liked it. Tastes like bamboo shoots, and the waitress even gave us a sample for free. The alligator bites are tasty here, along with the brisket. Everything except for the alligator seemed under seasoned. The staff are very pleasant and the dining room is comfortable with a nice view. I support the environmental efforts of the wooden cutlery, but it is very different and takes a little time to be comfortable with using them. Terrible. Will never go back. Went three times and two visits were not good. On the last visit they were out of everything..... and I mean everything. I ended up essentially having to eat a "steak nugget". Upon arrival we were asked to sit at a table with people we didn't know. There is no silverware- you'll get a wooden version of fork. From other reviews maybe I went on a "bad" day....but you couldn't pay me to go back here. The road out to Boggy Bottom BBQ is great. It's a rural road full of cattle and it's picturesque. I thought it was odd that even on the weekend there was only 4 other tables there. 4 tables, 3 waitresses, horrible service. Very small portions. The pulled pork was extremely bland. No taste at all. The baby back ribs were inedible. It was like they were cooked days ago and they hardened. We couldn't even cut them or break them apart. They were old and dry. This place will likely only stay open because of the tourists who take the airboat rides and return hungry. The restaurant itself was rustic but clean and quaint. The brisket (all two slices) was good. One of our sides was Swamp Cabbage. The waitress described it to the other table as a stew made from heart of palm, with bacon, vinegar and salt and pepper. It had no bacon, no taste, no vinegar. It was like eating straight boiled hearts of palm. Extremely disappointed. If you want good BBQ, Jimmy Bears in St. Cloud and Cecils in Orlando. This place is down a long, near endless road that is braced by the most exquisite oak trees. The building itself is clean and smells of a good fire place. They sell local honey, gator heads, children toys, shirts and jackets with some jewelry. They have a pit with baby gators, rock sifting, corn home, large jenga, checkers, and connect 4. Seems perfect for kids. Also an Native American education center near the other side, with traditional bone weapons, clothing, and boats. You order as soon as you walk, I would recommend also getting an air boat ride as well. We order the gator tail appetizer (good! No fatty peices!), pulled pork sandwiches (not a lot of grease) with broccoli, veggie patty burger (a little flavorless without the sauces) with macaroni and cheese. I wrote a review when they first opened and felt like I needed to update it. What used to be a sit down restaurant has now turned into a disorganized mess. You place your order at the front counter and pay for your meal (like Mcdonalds), this probably would be okay but the girl manning the one register is contending to the gift store guests and getting drinks, etc...so while I was there, at times there were 25 people waiting in line. Food is tasty but not worth that kind of hassle and the fact that the credit card machine still asked for a tip, is a serious fail! My husband wanted another beer while we were there but even he wasn't gonna wait 20+ min in line to get one. Also, I believe prices have gone up since they changed to this new model of service...and the meals that used to come with 2 sides only have one. So $10.99 for a sandwich and side. I will just go to Sonny's BBQ, thanks. I am local and this is still a cute place to bring guests via boat but otherwise, I probably wont be back for a while. read more

I want to apologize for BURDENING Boggy Bottom restaurant and boating. My family along with other patrons seemed to really just annoy the entire staff with our presence. I might have understood a little more if we had walked in 5 minutes before closing but we arrived for a late lunch with plans on touring the boat rides. While the family looked at the menu, I figured I would get a pricing sheet for the boats. I clearly annoyed the cashier at the ticket window, who apparently had to stop her texting, but I do give her credit for being able to multi task without even having to put down her phone!
