It's very quiet, clean and welcoming. It's actually feels like a single-family one-story home. It's very spacious and the huge 2 car garage is a bonus! The appliances are much smaller than we'd like though. The main tub and master bedroom shower are ridiculously very small, however; we are learning to live with these downfalls. No community is 100% perfect of course, however; we are glad to call Redwood our home. We had an option to move elsewhere not too far from here, however, due to the open floor plan with cathedral ceilings we chose here and are glad we did. The monthly food trucks are very appreciated for those nights I don't cook dinner (which is very few). The office manager, "Lonnie" and his team are very professional, friendly and business oriented. I love the way this office is ran. I have been a customer service professional for over 30 years, so I, personally appreciate it when I see others providing the same level of good customer service to others, especially my husband and I. The maintenance guy is absolutely the best! He is friendly, prompt and attentive. The turnaround time is stellar (1 day or less)! This sets this community apart from others, the wait time for maintenance requests at our previous community was 3-4 days. Overall, we are super satisfied living here, and plan to call Redwood our home for a long time. It's a lot of things we will never compromise on when living somewhere, some being: comfort, convenience, and quietness, and this is exactly what we found at Redwood :).

We then talked about the application process what was needed and the requirements we let them know how many people would be in a home they told us everyone needed to be on the application which we already knew so we started the application process and received a denial before everyone could finish the application. Call to let them know this and it was pretty much a nonchalant conversation saying oh well you probably was still gonna get denied so no I don't recommend anyone going here they need to be reported!

In addition, the kiddie pool was supposed to be done months before but wasn't finished until the end of summer. It was only open for a about two weeks until they had to close it. The kids pool is so small, hopefully the adult one is bigger. My dog was banned from shitting in her own lawn. Yes, shitting. We were told they wanted the lawn nice but considering the hack job of the sod placement, that already went down that drain. Oh and the idiots that run this place had to tear random holes in the ground because they COVERED the SPRINKLERS. There were also random ass marks and holes in throughout our apartment. There were chips in the "luxury granite" counters, holes in the doors, spotty paint jobs throughout the house, just a piss poor job overall. Will not be renewing our lease.

The increase this yr was up to $100 a month and this is a senior place and seniors are on fixed incomes. They charged me $300 for a carpet stain my furniture made on the carpet there and then replaced the carpet after i left anyway. It had not been replaced for 7 yrs or more since i lived here anyway which MI law carpet is suppose to be replace every 5 yrs. This owner and management has no idea how to treat seniors either. Sometimes i felt like we lived in prison too here kinda looks like it too IMO. I am so glad i moved away the frustration of everything was almost too much for me i will miss my friends i have met there but it was not worth the anger this management and owner was causing me and others too. All the maintenance responsibilities and appliances cost is provided by Shelby Manor. When we moved in there was already new carpeting and new ceramic flooring in the large bathroom. Over time we had the kitchen floor replaced and a new dishwasher replaced. Our unit has a stackable clothes washer and dryer and even a microwave oven and of course we have an oven, stove refrigerator and garbage disposal not to mention our own hot water heater, furnace and air conditioner. These are all provided and more importantly maintained by Shelby Manor, nothing worst is having a furnace go out in the middle of winter with no one to call for help. The best part is the maintenance and repairs of the units are handled by the full time staff. We had a small water leak in our ceiling from an upstairs air conditioner. Mike came over first thing in the morning, stopped the leak upstairs brought in a fan to dry up the damp carpet checked for mildew and found none. The ceiling needed plaster repairs, which means let the ceiling dry out, mud the repair, sand and mud and let dry again, and 3 coats of paint to match the ceiling. This of course took Mike several return trips to do a professional job, he keep us informed when of the scheduled trips and explained what and how he was preforming the work. Each trip was super quick lasting not more that 15 minutes, so it didn't interrupt our day. We really enjoy living here there is a good community of friendly people. Thanks Shelby Manor, Don & Irene

This is the second summer that we haven't been able to use our backyard because of a swamp that has yet to be taken care of, despite numerous complaints to the management company -- JBC Property Management. Our kids can't utilize the backyard and neither can the adults. I spent a decent amount of money fixing up our section of the backyard, planting grass (because it's so poorly kept), planting flowers, buying outdoor furniture, etc. and we can't even sit outside. The amount of mosquitos and bugs attracted due to the swamp makes it unbearable. Also, there is no recycling pickup here. I am told that the HOA doesn't want it. Unbelievable! Every week, I have to take my bags of recycling to my parent's house in Clinton Township, where they do have curbside recycling pickup. With the climate crisis we are facing, we should be encouraging everyone to recycle, not making it difficult for people to do so!

I love the coziness feel plus it has washer and dryer right in the apartment plus and cart port which its huge for me. I feel very comfortable. My agent Kristina was amazing in assisting me getting situated. I would definitely recommend her and the apartment complex to my friends and family.
