Blatantly shady and ethically bankrupt business practices. The other day, I ordered two regular meatball subs--identical, no add-ons--expecting fair pricing. Instead, I was charged $11 each. Later, I found out that a large sub (twice the size) is only $15. When I asked why they didn't mention it, the response was jaw-dropping: "Management doesn't like us to tell people about that." I get it if the guy just forgot to mention it, then that's on me, but to confirm it's a shady a$$ directive from ownership / management, that's crazy. For a small-town business that depends on community support, this level of dishonesty is pathetic. It's not about the $5--it's about integrity. That response exposed a small piece of what kind of operation they're running. They won't see another cent from me. And here's where their greed comes back to bite them--I'm making sure everyone I know in this town knows how they operate. Last time I went here they had a bunch of different kinds of scrap meat pulled up on the meat slicer it was disgusting. Staff is really friendly and accommodating and thank each person for coming in. That's something nice you don't always see with new places. You can build your own or order one of the regular sandwiches from their menu. Even the regular sandwiches can be customized with whatever added toppings you like to add. I was pleased with a much-needed sandwich place in Lago Vista and with high-quality ingredients. I have ordered the Lakeside Club with turkey, roast beef, bacon, cheddar, tomatoes, onion and chipotle mayo. I was also able to add at no additional up charge caramelized onions, spinach and pepperoncini. They have a great selection of fresh add on veggies. On my second visit I was I ordered the melt sandwich with turkey, ham, cheese and customized the veggies I liked! Both sandwiches were delicious and highly recommended. First time trying out Lakeside Subs and was very impressed. Everything looked fresh, the meat is sliced as they make the sandwiches. I ordered two large build your own sandwiches. To me the prices were reasonable for the area. There are other comparable sub shops in Cedar Park that would charge as much or more. I am happy to know that this is in Lago Vista. The service was very good also. They had a steady stream of customers at 2 pm and there were two employees that worked to make the sandwiches. The restaurant is clean, which is always a good thing. I would definitely come here again when the sandwich craving hits. I do like to support local businesses and hope they keep up the quality of food and reasonable pricing. read more

They sell bagels in the morning now and they are delicious. I had the Lago Lox bagel. Fantastic! Reminded me of East Coast, when I used to slice lox at Bloomingdale's. Great sandwich shop that's open everyday in a small lake town. The shop is very clean and they are quite generous with the meats, which is nice. The staff is always friendly, ingredients are always fresh. My only complaint is that my sandwiches are usually pretty dry. I usually get the turkey sub and they either forget to put honey mustard or they do a minuscule amount. Other than that, great spot and great subs. read more

For some reason the owners have decided to slice the meat for each sandwich when it's ordered which makes the wait time really long.
