(Half a takeout order of) applewood-smoked chicken breast, Brie, sandwich on panino, plus home-made chips. The watermelon not included.

I asked one of the partners (not Jack) whether they were trying to make their own go of a Noble Pig experience, and he didn't know what I was talking about. I bet Jack knows about John Bates and Brandon Martinez, though. It IS a similar place with house-brined pastrami and corned beef, house-roasted beef and turkey, and high quality ingredients, though not quite as adventurous as NP's menu was. This is the deli sandwich side of a larger operation that started as meal prep, and they do offer 6- and 12-meal packages of healthy food including sides for about $15/meal. Today I tried the classic pastrami and mustard on rye and some regular kettle chips, just to set framework for other visits, and the pastrami was no disappointment. However, I did find the pickle too briny and the kettle chips over-salted. We'll see with the kraut and corned beef on the next visit. Be aware that the place is SMALL and the prices are a little high, even though it is a significant cut above, say, Jason's Deli. This is close to me and so I expect this will be a regular haunt until I've tried everything.

After seeing many people commenting on this place on Leander page on Facebook, I was anxious to try this place (*I just wish they were in a different location, as this parking lot and strip mall is not that great). If I had not seen the address on Facebook, I would have not know this place was here, as the sign is hard to see as your are driving down 183 (Bell Blvd). Luckily, I knew it took over the place that used to be "Ziggys". Upon arrival the guy behind the counter was very nice (Think it was Jack). I asked if I could have a taste of the pastrami, he graciously came back with a piece. The taste was very good, and knew my husband would like it. The only thing which I knew he may not (which he didn't upon eating), was it was cut very thick like a brisket (used to have it sliced like a deli meat). So, I ordered him the Pastrami sandwich with the Cajun kettle chips. I have heard about online, so I ordered the Chicken with the Brie, which I ordered the potato salad as the side. Both came with a pickle. It took a little while for him to make it. It looked like just him and one other employee in the back making anything. After I got it home, I took the pictures. My husband did enjoy the Pastrami sandwich (which he wanted on sourdough, not traditional Rye). It came with Swiss cheese and mustard. The cheese was also thick cut. At the end of his sandwich, he picked the pastrami out and left the cheese and bread, as the cheese was not that soft, and preferred just the meat. I really enjoyed the chicken sandwich (which they recommended to put on this olive kind of baguette). I took a few bites, and LOVED the flavor of the chicken (which as you can see was also thick cut), the arugula, the garlic aioli and the VERY Good fig jam, made the sandwich. But, I took off the tops of sandwich, and looked and did not see any brie cheese on the sandwich. I think they forgot it. I think it would it had given this sandwich a more creamy taste. But, even as is, it was a great sandwich. The two sides I was not a fan of. The kettle chips, which were freshly made were a little over cooked and by the time I got home (which is less then 10 min from their place), it was a little soggy on a few chips. The potato salad, again good flavor, but a little too much paprika and the potatoes were a very big chunks. (I like chunky potato salad, but these were over an inch thick). Overall, both of us liked it, and would like to try other things on their menu. It looks like you can order just the meat by the pound, and in their case they have the salads to go. Will try again in the future.

We had the pastrami sandwich and the Italian! Both were delicious and the macaroni salad was amazing as well! We will definitely be going back soon!

Bring your appetite. It's really great! Fresh and made to perfection! Great service Ill be back!

Half and half corned beef sandwich and pear and burrata salad. Plastic fork for comparison showing how little salad.

Overall, would not recommend. Ordered half sandwich & half salad. Chose the classic corned beef and the roasted pear and burrata salad. Corned beef was just roast beef, not even corned, Russian dressing was non existent, and the sauerkraut was okay. The salad was extremely small and overpowered fully by the balsamic. Family all tried different items and equally unimpressed.
