I have been a customer of Lakeside for almost 50 years. They installed the pool and since 2 liners plus a filter this year. We had a few issues with the filter replacement because it was a jacuzzi and they have since gone out of business but Frank was very helpful with getting a new filter installed to work with what I had. Frank made lots of promises he did not keep. He has been paid $80,000 and a year later we still have an incomplete foundation. The walls of this foundation are not square and are out of level. The stairs are too big. The deep end is only 4 feet deep and he forgot to put in drains and wall lights. In all it has been a bad experience. They did not show up to when they said they would, holding up other contractors that had work to do on the property. Very unprofessional. You hire a company hoping for the best, but in this case didn't receive the best. Subpar at most. Very disappointed. read more

Worst company to deal with. Had pool done about 35 years ago, they were fine! Had then come back to do pool redo in 2023..they made a mess of pool, we can't use it, been trying for 2 years to rectify, with no luck. When the father had the company it was a good company, but Frank (the son), and his worker Ray are the biggest con artist going. We hired Lakeside Pools in May 2023. We told Frank the design we wanted which had a few custom features like seats and stairs. He gave us a price and a start date. Day one he showed up with his crew and an excavator and got to work. Within 10 minutes he hit ledge. He spent the whole day uncovering the ledge so we could assess the amount. We discussed the impact and within 3 days he showed up with a machine to remove it. He spent his own time to hammer it out. It took him 3 days to remove over 60 cy of ledge and even finished on a Saturday. He went above and beyond to give us the size and depth we wanted. Through the entire process Frank and his crew went above and beyond. We took down over 20 trees, he removed the stumps for me. We made changes to where the filter and pumps were located, no problem. We had to raise the grade around pool for the patio area, Frank brought in over 200 cy of fill. I poured a slab for a pool shed, Frank and his crew helped with that. His staff in the office is very helpful and friendly also. I have been in construction for over 25 years and managed the entire pool build. I am very particular and pay attention to detail and I must say I am very happy with Lakeside Pool. The service provided by Lakeside has been fantastic. During a time when suppliers are short on supplies, Lakeside bent over backward to get my pool done and done well. While there were some slight issues, they were extremely responsive and went above and beyond to complete our oasis! I can't even describe the enjoyment I got our of our pool last summer. With 3 granddaughters now, the time spent with them in the pool has been priceless, and I have Frank and his family to thank! There are many scammers out there pretending to be pool people, Lakeside is certainly NOT a pretender. They are the real deal. While not the cheapest, certainly the best value for the money spent. I can't suggest them enough. They were honest, and complete. They even came during our first snow and ice event to make sure the pool was covered and secured. Do not hesitate to hire them! I will also mention this was our second pool by Lakeside. The first was an above ground 25 years ago that eventually got destroyed by weather. Absolutely horrible customer service. Please go any where else. They have had a deposit from us since March and were told we would be scheduled in April. It is now mid June and we can't get a straight answer. No one will call us back. I have sent emails, resorted to fax, and called. I spoke to Karen today who told me that now they have a ledge issue they ran into so us having our liner done this week will no longer happen and we are tentative for next week. Last Friday, someone from Lakeside showed up and put a pump in the pool to drain it and left. Apparently this was a mistake and they weren't supposed to come. They asked us to unplug the pump. If we weren't home to do so, our pool would still be sitting with no water in it, completely destroyed. The incompetence in dealing with this business knows no bounds. I have rescheduled work trips to accommodate their schedule. Each week comes and there is no one here and no work done. As other reviews state, we would be here all day explaining just how horrible the experience is with this business. read more

Just had these guys do my boyfriends pool and they did a great job, brought lots of guys and got it done quickly. I called a lot of places for quotes and these guys were the cheapest. Most of the pool places I called for quotes either A. didn't pick up and waited 3 days to call me back, or B. were totally rude. They also happened to be the same company that did the liner on the pool 10 years ago. Lakeside replaced the liner, moved the old filter and installed a new one (salt water this time), did some plumbing work and redid the cement around the pool. They were super thorough and had no problem coming to the house either two or three times to check out the pool and just talk to us about the new salt water options, liner options and everything that needed to be done. They got everything done in about 2.5 days and since it was a salt water pool, we were able to hop in as soon as they left. They also gave us a whole extra truck of water, so we didn't need to use the hose. Maybe it's cause we paid with a check and didn't use the installment plan though, who knows. They only lose a star because it took them a month to come get the pool done. We were a little panicky because the big 4th of July BBQ was coming, but they finished on the last business day before it. So smiles all around. :) read more

I don't normally do reviews but believe me these two things from lakeside pools will make your life easier if you're struggling with your pool water. 1. I recently bought one of their salt systems for my above ground pool. I absolutely love it no more worries about how much chlorine to add. Also they installed it for me it was so easy. 2. I also like the way they test my water. They put the water in some device and then they print out a detailed report. Other places I've been to use the test strips which as you know are ridiculous. So I have the water tested the beginning of the season and the middle of the season and before I close it up. I usually only add chemicals at the beginning of the season if the report says I need anything and also when I close it up. read more

This company is so busy and for good reason, we are thrilled we went Lakeside!! If I could give a zero star rating I would We decided to move forward with Lakeside and were scheduled for an early August install in 2018. Due to some bad weather, this was delayed and our start date pushed back a week or so. When they finally started it was towards the end of August and anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. The company started to dig and a machine broke- then we waited a week or more for their other machine to finish a job and come to our house. When that machine came to our house it also broke. So now we had to wait for a part in order to finish digging- or so this is what we were told. I've come to realize that you can't believe anything that they tell you. Finally our pool was dug, but the original person (Steve) that we were working with disappeared and Frank (owner) was now over seeing everything. He was never on the job supervising the crew, refused to answer any of our messages, and took days/weeks to respond. Our pool installation that was suppose to take 3 weeks, took 8+ weeks. We received a call while on vacation that our pool was completed, and could we please submit final payment. We said as soon as we returned we would issue a check- we wanted to see the work first. Upon returning home we soon realized that so many corners had been cut and that the pool was not finalized. We spent another week or so chasing around Frank and trying to get a response as to when particular things could be finished. After further review we noticed massive dents along the wall of the pool. Frank did come out to take a look and agreed this was not acceptable. They drained the pool, removed the liner and "fixed" the areas. At that time we closed the pool (it was now mid October) as leaves were falling and the weather had dropped- we were unable to use the pool. The following spring , we contact Lakeside to open the pool. The water starts to clear, and we are finally able to use our pool. Upon entry to the pool we notice massive wrinkles and slack in the liner. I ask Frank about this and his response is that it's a liner and pools aren't going to be "perfect". He also goes on to tell me that some wrinkles are normal. I don't know much about pools, but this did not seem right. I could pull the liner 6 inches away from the walls and the wrinkles were severe. The shallow end was also full of footprints all along the bottom. Frank states he will send someone out to fix the stairs and it will take 5 minutes- assures me it's not a big deal at all. I say okay, and we make an appointment for Saturday. Saturday comes and goes and nobody shows up at my house. My husband texts Frank in the afternoon to ask when we should be expecting someone and Franks texts back, "Rob, I don't need you to hold my hand- I'll be there when I get there"..... then never shows up. We actually don't hear back from anyone at Lakeside for over a week! At this point I start to lose my cool because we've spent a lot of money on this pool and it's horribly assembled. I call Lakeside and get the same response that someone will pass my message along and Frank will call me back.... days go by and I have no response. I start to text Frank telling him how upset I am that he cannot stand behind his work and finish our job- he rudely texts me back about needing to stop "bothering" him on his personal cell. At this point I'm at a loss of what to do and contact an attorney for advise. They tell me to contact them via email and also by phone again. I do this and tell them that I'm done and will be taking legal action if I don't have someone at my house to compete this process. The next day I'm working with a brand new family member named Nicole. She sends someone right out to take a look at the pool. She apologizes for her fathers behavior and rudeness and promises to make things right.... first time we've had someone what of a positive experience since the start. The next day, the new construction manager is at our house and tells us our liner is not the correct size for our pool! It's taken months for them to finally admit that the "wrinkles" are not "normal". We order a new liner and one month later they come out, drain the pool for a second time, patch the honeycomb areas of concrete, regrate the bottom of the pool, install a brand new liner, and fill with water. Other issues we delay with: -our stairs are not even and we don't know if we can use the set in the deep end. We will need to work with the concrete company to see about fixing -the area where the returns are located all have co caved indents due to bad concrete pouring- they attempted to "patch" these today but they aren't perfect It's upsetting that it took 11 months of me being persistent in order for them to correct their mistakes. Had I taken Franks word that wrinkles were "normal" and to be expected I would still have the previous liner and who knows what kind of issues in the future. read more

I absolutely love this pool company! My husband & I purchased a new home in 2017, with an inground pool that was installed from another pool company years ago. We were having trouble to get a pool company to fix our pool. Thankfully, Lakeside came out to assess the damage and took on the job. Frank was so great & easy to communicate with throughout the process of the repair. His crew leader, Ed was wonderful and has so much knowledge that really made us feel confident. It has been 2 years since they fixed the repair and our pool still looks great! Unfortunately, we don't live close enough to visit their retail store but their service tech opens & closes our pool and always drops chemicals off for us. They have been so wonderful. I never write reviews but this business warranted one. The place should have done the customers a favor and stayed closed. I have one of their pools that came with the house. I went there from 2007 until they closed. Anyone who knew anything about chemicals is long gone. A wonderful example is their winterizer. It is diluted algecide for 18.00 plus per half gallon and you need two of them. Ask the new person in charge, Steve the grandson or something, what makes it winterizer. Get ready for the lies and ignorance about the product. Their chemicals are extremely over priced. The help is rude just like Steve the new person in charge. I could go on and on after only one visit back. I will never go there again. Do yourself a favor and go to Millenium Pool in Smithfield. I went there once. They sell the proper winterizer, similar to the product Lakeside used to sell. Price difference is substantial. The owner can actually tell you what makes it winterizer. The best part is the owner, Bobby, he will answer all your questions. It is my new pool store. Just check it out one time for yourself. You will become a customer too. read more

I had a Lakeside Pool for over two decades. Very happy. Last year I had service done under the new ownership. Although the work came out really well, I found out after the fact they are grossly overpriced as I was way overcharged compared to other pool companies. I suggest getting multiple quotes. Bought a house with a pool I knew needed work, just not this much work. As you can see the concrete walls were literally crumbling. I had four pool companies out to get a quote and all four knew it was a Lakeside pool without me saying a word. Two of the companies refused the work because they didn't want any part of a Lakeside pool. One of the other two guys said they re-do at least one Lakeside pool a year, and the bad concrete work is typical for them. They all said this should not happen. So I figured I would call Lakeside and see what they would charge to fix it. Figured they would want to "make it right" and give me a great deal. Nope, they quoted me double what the other two companies did. They claimed that the pool was not properly maintained and it over flowed a few times getting the concrete wet so it wasn't their fault. So I told this to the pool company that we went with along with a few masons I know. They all said the same thing, total crap. As it was put to me if concrete can't wet your house should not still be standing, good point. So in short my experience with them is getting charged double for a substandard product. read more
