Our night oasis thanks to Lakeside!

The service provided by Lakeside has been fantastic. During a time when suppliers are short on supplies, Lakeside bent over backward to get my pool done and done well. While there were some slight issues, they were extremely responsive and went above and beyond to complete our oasis! I can't even describe the enjoyment I got our of our pool last summer. With 3 granddaughters now, the time spent with them in the pool has been priceless, and I have Frank and his family to thank! There are many scammers out there pretending to be pool people, Lakeside is certainly NOT a pretender. They are the real deal. While not the cheapest, certainly the best value for the money spent. I can't suggest them enough. They were honest, and complete. They even came during our first snow and ice event to make sure the pool was covered and secured. Do not hesitate to hire them! I will also mention this was our second pool by Lakeside. The first was an above ground 25 years ago that eventually got destroyed by weather. But we were so happy with that one, we knew where to go for an inground!

Frank and his family put our pool in nineteen years ago. beautiful pool and have always enjoyed it. Last fall we decided that the pool needed to be updated. So, of course we called Frank. Before winter set in we had a beautiful new liner put in and replaced the coping. We also added a new salt system. Reed came out yesterday and opened the pool and got everything set for our summer. He did a great job. Thank you Lakeside. Pat C.

This was the second liner - and what I was told was "Normal" and to be expected

We had a challenging yard, and our original choice of pool and location was going to be difficult. After talking everything through with Rick, we ended up choosing a different location and we couldn't be happier that we did. We were also deciding between a 16-foot and 18-foot round pool, and Rick recommended the 16-foot option so we would have more room around the pool for walking and pool furniture. It ended up being the perfect choice. We started the project in September 2025. We knew we wouldn't be swimming that season, but Rick mentioned it was worth waiting to allow the ground around the pool to settle before completing the surrounding work. Fast forward to May 2026, we began preparing for the pavers around the pool. Once the pavers were installed and completed, Rick and his team were at our house the very next day, and the preparation, liner installation, and filling of the pool were completed in just two days! Their communication and professionalism throughout the entire process were outstanding. We did our homework and shopped around with several other pool companies, but we felt the most comfortable with Rick from the beginning. He was upfront, honest, and never made us feel pressured. He took the time to explain our options and helped us find different ways to make our vision a reality. We've now been able to enjoy our own little piece of paradise for a couple of months, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. And the great experience didn't stop with the installation. Kirsten at the shop has been extremely helpful, along with the other employees at the shop. Nick from the pool school has been fantastic as well as he explained the pool, the filter, terminology and always a text away with any questions! Everyone we've dealt with has been friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help. If you're considering a pool, we highly recommend Riken Pools. From start to finish, they exceeded our expectations. 5 stars all around! 5-Star Review for Riken Pools From the very first time we met Rick, we knew Riken Pools was the company we wanted to install our pool. Although the "nut" had split, the connection wasn't leaking, so I left it alone. :) As I prepared to open the pool this year, it became apparent that I needed to replace the broken piece. Since it was a PVC connector that was part of the plumbing for all of the return lines, the repair was looking fairly complex. I brought the piece to the shop, where I met with Keller and Bill. Keller was just as concerned as I was about the complexity of rebuilding everything necessary to replace the one broken component. As Bill walked by, he took one look at the part and said, "Oh, that's an easy fix." Keller and Bill headed to the back and returned with a handful of pieces. It's a little complicated to describe, but I got home, followed their advice, and was up and running in no time. Experience matters. What seems like a dilemma to one person is often a problem that someone else has solved many times before. The lesson learned: when in doubt, ask an expert. I'm grateful for Bill's experience and his willingness to share it. Thank you!

The quality of work is sub par at best, especially for the price tag which was very high. Dex did such a horrible job they even commented about the poor quality, and had to demolish some of the work they did to complete the work again. The redo was still poor quality with lots of flaws and took over a year with more visits than I can even count. We now have a step coming loose (mind you this project is only 3 years old), which is dangerous and we are going to have to pay someone else to come fix it to ensure someone doesn't get seriously injured. When originally starting the project we had multiple instances where they measured wrong and without us pointing it out, we would've been short changed what the plan was. There were several instances where we had meetings regarding problem areas and they were not addressed. We have had friends ask for recommendations and a few of them were considering Dex, and we recommended they go elsewhere and provided a wonderful recommendation for someone who came out and finished our work at a quarter of the price and far better quality of work.

The design phase, led by Joe, was wonderful. EVERY SINGLE THING THAT TOOK PLACE POST-DESIGN WAS TERRIBLE. We opted for a stamped concrete design, which was our first mistake. Every single person from DEX who has been at our house honestly has no idea what they are doing in regards to stamped concrete. When you look at reviews, every positive review is for non-concrete patio's. When it comes to stamped concrete... anything that could go wrong went wrong. 1.) Stamped upper patio area was completed first. Color was wrong. It looked like someone had poured curry powder all over my patio. Luckily, they were able to jackhammer it out and replace 2.) Stamped pool deck - after one winter, there was an erosion that took place all over the patio (think little white specks everywhere). They refused to repour concrete and opted to fix with a stain/sealer. Needless to say, while it did improve the white spots, we are in summer number 3, and it looks even worse now. In addition, the lines of the stamping, drains, and immediate border around pool are all not straight. 3.) Masonry work was shoddy all over entire patio. Big gaps, stones falling out of place, allowing rodents to make new homes. 4.) Supervision is an afterthought. Our project manager Delia wasnt actually managing anything. People would show up whenever, without any prior notification. Questions requesting specific dates and times for workers were not answered. General job site cleanliness was a total DISASTER - with items getting broken (all of our solar lamps), landscaping being damaged (from moving furniture into landscaping while working on patio), sealer hardening at bottom of pool causing white marks, and overall general sloppiness in terms of keeping areas of house clean (like siding, trim, and windows) while they worked. 5.) Zero accountability. I asked numerous times for the owners of the business to come on-site to see the horrendous work that they performed. Joe, Delia, and Tommy (head of ops) came out. Joe agreed the work was sloppy and terrible looking. Tommy didn't have a clue - he could have been a guy they grabbed at dunks to serve as "head of ops" for all we know. Now we are on year 3, they are still doing some work with the same problems and same lack of attention to detail and lack of respect of our time/money/house. In discussing with my wife, we are going to have to bring in actual professionals at some point down the line to remediate the mess that Dex by Terra have caused. Again - if you are considering hiring Dex by Terra for any work, I would run as far away as you can from them. Atrocious company, atrocious support, atrocious attention to detail, and absolutely ZERO accountability. I offer anyone the opportunity to come to my house to see the quality of their work first-hand. Know what you are getting yourself into and know there are better companies out there.
