MCM pool service is a total scam. I came out over $1000 behind and still had dirty water. $200 an hour for a twenty-something with less experience and sense than a class of fourth graders. I've owned a pool since he's been in diapers. Their approach is to keep selling expensive stuff that doesn't work. They tried to sell me a hose end "mineral filter" to remove dissolved copper from my well water. The filter, retailing north of $50 was nothing but a string filter designed to trap sand. Both the employee and his boss on the phone insisted on its efficacy. Arguing, the representative took an attitude with me. Both were uninformed or deliberately lying. Don't touch this one with a stick. Run, don't walk for the exit. Service, zero. Quality, zero. Value, less than zero. Zero stars. read more

I cannot recommend MCM pools enough! They did incredible work on fixing and relining my pool. Chris was extremely communicative and walked me through each step of the process. He called with frequent updates and was flexible while pending my insurance company. Through this project MCM pools has gained a forever customer. read more

I called mcm pools the guys that came to my house were awesome very professional and friendly my issue is that my under water light was not working they resealed it is still working 2 days later good so far but they were only at my house for 19 minutes and charged me 265 00 no parts were involved just some sealant. I was literally a brand new pool owner when we bought our house 17 months ago. I knew nothing other than the pool is something you swim in. I got a referral to MCM from a work colleague. I will say, they are amazing. They are patient, responsive, polite, technically on point. The guys that come to do the opening and closings are great. This year my 4 year old grandson had to watch and sit in the pool area. The tech was so great with him. Clean to Clear service is the way to go for your openings. Kurt runs a tight ship and he and Dale and all the inside guys are just the best to work with. I can't say enough about this company. I have a saying, "you buy cheap, you buy twice" With MCM it is done right the first time!! read more

The one star is for the honesty of their new employee who I quote "never opened a pool that doesn't clean the filter or include chemicals" This is a brand new pool installed by MCM and they do not stand behind their work. We now have a leak that they continue to disagree. Where is the water going? They looked at the pool but did not check a thing. The customer service is the worst I have seen in a company. We had family and friends coming for Memorial Day weekend and another company had led us astray for three weeks, dragging us through unnecessary repairs and difficult to communicate with! Chris and his team identified right away that we had an inadequate filter for our pool size and ordered and installed it just in time! They were responsive, friendly and professional and we could write volumes in this review about their expertise, customer support and dedication. The 1 star is literally for who ever on their team folded the Winter cover, they did a great job! As for the rest of the experience... AWFUL! The tech that supposedly closed our Pool in October admitted to "nicking" the side of the pool and to watch for drainage. When reported the pool had lost more then half of the water about a month later, they did nothing! Said they couldn't do anything until the spring. I had to have them come out Mid winter to remove the cover as I was afraid the pool would cave in due to snow/ice build up. After emailing them Mid May reminding them of mess we were in, it took Several emails and phone calls to end up with a team of people who had no clue what they were doing. The first crew was sent out to measure my pool for a new liner (which MCM was going to "quote me for the install") Kurt from MCM stated via phone that there was no worries that our liner had dried out, the next person they sent out to try to find the "leak" stated he found no leak, after only spending less then 5 minutes at the side of my pool. BUT stated that my 2 year old liner was brittle and it would need to be replaced. THEN... when we were told that the only way to see what was going on was to fill the pool and see if held. I started filling the pool on a Saturday and by Tuesday the pool was half way up the skimmer and ready for the team to come out Wednesday morning to open. What took place next is nothing short of the WORST customer service and lack of knowledge I have ever experienced. After they "opened" the pool the Tech left me a voicemail He states in the voicemail a number of things that I had great concern over. 1. The Pool steps are in and secure. - No they are NOT secure, they are actually floating upward and will eventually break the mounts if left as is 2. The Pool water level wasn't high enough to put chemicals in. - The water level was more than sufficient, it was half way up the Skimmer, the Skimmer basket was full of water and higher! The lower basket at the pump was full. 3. The Pump wouldn't start, and that the power tripped when he tried a second time. - When I got home I turned the switch on at the pump with no problems, the breaker at the panel in the basement hadn't tripped. 4. The pump was seized - interestingly the pump is running! And all it took was a quick tap on the pump and then turning the switch on. 5. The pump had not been securely screwed down or leveled! I'm not really sure where you get your crews from but I am NOT impressed with the handling of my pool or the lack of attention to all of the situations that have come up. Quite frankly the only thing done well was how nicely they folded the winter cover. I have had to shock the pool myself and will have to go elsewhere to run a water test to see what needs to be done. Your poor handling of my pool has left it a mess. The two years I did this on my own, the pool opened with relatively clear water and little to no problems. After voicing my concerns they voided my Pool Opening invoice and dismissed me as a customer! Seriously... I will never use them again and make sure everyone knows that who ever these crews are they have NO CLUE what they are doing. read more

I've given MCM three stars because even though they do pretty good work and are pleasant to deal with, I've been paying a lot more for the weekly service than I expected. I've been reading some of the other Yelp reviews of pool companies, and, unfortunately, the bar is pretty low for the pool industry, at least in my area. With the MCM pool maintenance service, you will likely pay significantly more than the base quoted rate. As it turns out, MCM quoted me $95/visit for maintenance, but after two visits, I've had to pay $188 for each visit, the additional ~$90 each time for chemicals. For example, both bills included an added cost of $56 for shock which is much more than off-the-shelf shock. As far as repair, I had a slow drip leak at the input of my multi-port. The MCM service guy said it was cracked at the fitting and said it just needed a new PVC fitting, not a big deal, according to him. He took pictures, texted them to the supervisor, and I was reaffirmed over the phone. So, I expected it would be in the $200 - $300 range. It turned out that the multi-port was cracked and the charge was $452, which I didn't find out until I received the invoice left on my door. They did an acceptable job, but the final bill was a bit of a shocker and I would have appreciated being provided an estimate first. I may have opted to wait, if I had known it would cost over $450 to fix. I've decided to cancel MCM after two visits and take care of the full maintenance on my own. At this time, I think the rate is too high for me. I think MCM maintenance service is good if you have little or no time and experience with your pool and/or are physically unable to work on your pool. Make sure to budget a lot more than the base quoted rate and you are willing to fork over hundreds of dollars for the visits. read more

I'm giving three stars for the guys that came out (very nice) and the conversation I had with their company on the phone. They are getting zero stars for price. We paid 200.00 for two visits, mysteriously after that, we got a leak in our above ground pool. Can't say why or how, but thats when it started. Pool becomes cloudy, can't fix it, we have them come out. It took 6 visits for them to figure it out. Every visit had a different option and solution and each pool tech was very nice, but couldn't figure out the outcome. 867.00 for six visits, and only one of them came close to an hour. I don't think it should have taken six visits, nor do I think that 867.00 is ok to charge. Also, third or fourth visit, I start asking tons of questions. Tech scratches head and says we never measured your pool. So 1-4 visits they are eyeballing how much chemicals to use etc etc. Which you get charged for accordingly (makes sense). The kicker? Had a different pool service come after they came, he found the problem immediately and it stopped. Allegedly it had something to do with what one of the techs had done to the pump, and forgotten about earlier in the summer. I cannot wait to receive my water bill. I'm still very upset and have hired a different company to close the pool. If money isn't a problem for you, this company will be fine for you, otherwise, get ready to shell out some cash. read more

We just moved into our home this Spring so this was the first time we had opened the pool. Earlier today, Josh and Steve came and opened our pool for the season. They were polite, friendly and took the time to help explain certain things about the pool to me. I asked about services we may need down the line and they were able to explain in detail how MCM could cover those services and how it would be done. I felt a bit bad hovering over them to learn what they were they were doing but they could not have been nicer about it! read more

I felt it was a fair, and reasonable service. I never had a problem with any of the technicians, however I felt it was not a good first assessment which led to lots of confusing and back and forth communication between myself, the tech, and the maintenance manager. I also felt at times, and still do in the end that this company leaves me a little short changed. For example, being waitlisted from weekly cleanings after $1,000 invested in their Clean till clear program? Mid season mind you, making it probably impossible to find another company to come out. Just seems like I'm always left with a little frustration by how things were and have been handled. I do think they did what was right in the end which was to discount the cleanings after many failed attempts. In the end I'm happy to have a working pool. We will likely use another company in the future though which is too bad. read more

New to being a pool owner. Used them last year to instal a new pump and get us going for the season. They never set the pump correctly so it wasn't running in the beginning. A manager tried to amend their screw up by coming by and doing a one on one pool overview so we decided to give them another chance. When the guys came back they would trample on the foliage around the pool as well as dump the contents of the skimmer either on the plants or leave it on the pavement around the pool. Sometimes not even cleaning it out at all. Despite trying to move on and continue using them we ended up finding another company to close and used them again this season to reopen. Initially picked them for their higher rating/reviews, but was not reflective of the experience we had with them. read more

When someone says they are going to "Open" a pool and you ask "Am I going to have to do anything?" and they reply "No" you would expect more. Let there be no confusion, opening a pool for MCM Pool Service really only means that they are going to take the cover off and turn on your filter. If you own a pool (and know how it works) YOU know that "opening" a pool is a lot more than just that. Maybe Justin was busy the day we talked because he NEVER ONCE mentioned that he wouldn't be adding the right chemicals to turn the water blue or cleaning out any debris from the pool that settled through the winter. $200 to take a cover off a pool is quite ridiculous. We had a great experience with MCM Pool Service in July. We were given a quote upfront for them to come out and what the charges may be - so no surprise. They showed up promptly for the appointment. We had been experiencing some issues with our unground pool leaking. The other company we've used through the years - repeatedly could not find the leakage which was becoming quite costly. However, we could tell when MCM showed up with their equipment, that they honestly knew what they were doing. They were able to detect the leakage and fix the 16 small holes. No additional problems for the balance of the season. I would highly recommend them. read more

We'd used another service until a couple years ago, but got tired of their dismissive attitude and lack of availability on pool openings/closings. We gave MCM a try and have never looked back. If I could give zero stars, I would. Unreliable. They only performed partial services but charged full price. Better off going with Pools Unlimited. They (PU) provide excellent service and complete the job. MCM opened my pool at the beginning of June and we still can't swim in it. When Pools Unlimited opened our pool, we swam in the pool the very next day. Additionally, they told me I could pay an additional $95 per hour for a "Clean Until Clear" service. OK I have to say I have been very pleased with MCM Pools, especially with Chris one of the owners. His disposition and desire to provide good service is one of the big selling points for me. We have had a lot of issues with our pool its first year and they have guided us through as best they can. If I have any questions I will shoot Bryan an email and 90% of the time I will get a response almost immediately. In response to the one star review, this is true BUT it is true for many pool service companies. You need to run your filter for a couple days and then get the water tested. It cannot be done same day. Granted this should be explained upfront and this is probably where I would say there is room for improvement. Compared to almost all pool services I would rank MCM as one of the best but of course there is always room for improvement. Perhaps better communication as to what to expect - An email sent one week before your opening or closing date detailing out what they do and what to expect etc... but honestly this is just room to get even better and not so much a complaint. Also to the one star reviewer I would always defer to Chris or Bryan, not all employees are as customer based as they are. Another plus side of MCM they are one of the only local services that does above ground pools as well as in-ground. I plan on recommending them to my friends. read more

Horrible company. I needed a liner changed so I called both telephone numbers on the flyer that I received as well as emailing them on their website. I never got a phone call or email back. I had to find someone else. After 2 months of the pool being opened I thought I had a leak, so I was forced to call them again because were the only ones I could find that did leak detection. Once again no phone call back. I can't believe that they can even stay in business. Would never recommend them to anyone!!! read more

I was attempting to give these guys a zero, but evidently the rating system requires me to give at least a 1 out of 5. This company installed a new liner in my inground pool last year, long story short, once the pool cover was removed this spring, the new liner was falling off of the from where it is supposed to be fastened. Called the Manager at MCM (3+ times), without a returned call. Finally, I left a message via the email/contact site on their website, along with a message regarding the lack of response that I received, regarding my liner issue. Shortly after my email, I received a call back from Kurt expressing how busy they are. I was told that my problem was highly unlikely since they installed so many liners last year, without receiving any calls regarding issues with those liners. After further discussion, we decided that they should fix the issues, and that I should send pics to him (5/25/2019). Since that day, I have called and left multiple messages, received no return of calls, or no returned emails. I'm well aware of the steps that I need to pursue next, but felt as though my input would be considered for those thinking of using MCM pools. It's now 6/13/2019, and I have fixed the largest section that came untucked, but all of the corners still remain. I'm sure everyone in this area, are well aware that the summer season doesn't last very long! read more

The pool we inherited when we bought the house was in very rough shape. Mcm came and gave us great advice to clean it out. They came back and installed the filter and pump. Everything has worked out great the past couple years. They closed our pool once and did a good job. Pricing is fair. read more

Chris and his team at MCM were amazing. They opened my pool and found 2 major issues, a broken control panel to run the pool and a swampy green pool full of algae. All was fixable but there was a time crunch. I scheduled the opening for May 19 with a 50 person graduation pool party scheduled for May 28. Every year prior I opened the pool and was swimming the next day. So it never occurred to me there would be a problem. I know nothing about running the pool - this was the first year I hired MCM so it wasn't like I was a long standing customer that they knew well. I just signed up with them this season. I left the previous company because of unreliable service and lack of responses to emails, etc. The MCM team dealt with every issue, including my frantic questions and emails, and they did each with professionalism, patience and service. Bottom line - if you have an Inground pool, you need to have MCM on your side. Repairs and maintenance are all competitively priced but service is unbeatable. So glad I found them...you will be too! read more
