I loved this place it was awesome. Kid friendly, lots of seating. Burgers are good, we also got buckets of fries as well, they were great. This is a local legend and apparently the only drive thru/walk-up hamburger joint in Chelan. They use that to their greatest advantage. As a local I find it hit and miss. Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but it's a Chelan staple. Classic burgers and more done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). And the milkshakes! A must. I like this place for what it is , a drive thru burger joint. Not very many places to eat in Chelan so a quick stop for a quick meal will do it. Lakeview has been a drive-in institution in Lake Chelan for more years than I can count. My family has been coming to Lake Chelan for over 15 years, and I've been enjoying Lakeview's burgers and fries the whole time. The fries, oh man where else can you get a *BUCKET* of delicious golden brown crunchy crinkle cut fries?! Right here folks! Now one quick warning, not sure if this is still accurate but they make their own french fry seasoning and it contains MSG. The stuff is so darn tasty I've bought a bottle for my home kitchen and overlooked the MSG warning on the label. Best part is you can drive up in the car or boat. We normally arrive via boat, park at the public docks, and walk up for some grub. Get it to go and then eat on the water, doesn't get much better. Looking forward to next summer and my next bucket... =) read more

We ordered food for 8 people. Everything on the order was special (ketchup only, no mayo, etc) and everything came out the way that we ordered it. The girl taking the order was very attentive and went over each item in the order to ensure that it was correct. It was decent enough fast food. I think the drive thru customers get priority because they are currently idling in the parking lot and blocking more traffic from entering) but the views are amazing. I came to visit from Los Angeles and let me tell you something. The food there was amongst the best I have ever had. It's a small quaint mom and pop drive in so don't expect medium rare cut stake with potatoes. The line was long but well worth the wait (hence why the line was long, because it's popular, because the food is good, duh) and I've been to plenty of burger places before. But the burgers are really tasty, the beef patty is a smash burger style which has lot of flavor and they put on some sauce that gives it a really nice kick and taste. Did I miss a memo somewhere? The last few drive ins I have eaten at have taken a surprisingly long time after the order process to get me my food. I had a grilled ham and cheese. It was moderately priced, and moderately tasty. There's plenty of outdoor seating. I was just a bit bewildered that it took 25+ minutes for my family to get our food, and our order was wrong (though they fixed it fairly fast). When the chief of engineering says a place has the best burger of the mission, you know the whole crew will have to give it a try. And while I can't say that these burgers rose to the level of out of this world (after all, we have eaten burgers all across the galaxy), I am convinced that they are excellent ambassadors of the human -- or at least American -- approach to meat on a bun. As for the rest: delicious crispy onion rings, as perfectly round as the saucer section of a galaxy class starship. Ridged French fries, that -- while perfectly ordinary on their own -- take on the fierce glow of a Klingon sunset when dipped in a fiendishly delicious fry sauce. A chocolate shake that tastes of Hershey's syrup, though the question of whether that is a good or a bad thing engendered such a passionate debate that it was a good thing everyone's phasers were set to stun. A blackberry shake that had actual genuine berries in it, doing their determined best to compete with the overwhelming sweetness of the shake itself. All in all: we were convinced we experienced what humans call the "Platonic ideal" of drive-in food. Which is to say, indulgently delicious, but in deeply unhealthy way. Thank goodness our chief science officer was able to use a thrombic modulator to quickly desaturate our blood streams after eating! I can't imagine how humans survive eating this kind of food without our advanced technology. It probably explains why human life expectancy is stuck in the double digits. read more

My children (6 and 2) were finishing the $7 in sodas and light snacks we had purchased five minutes before from the Lakeview Drive in, and were told to order more food immediately or leave immediately because "other people" were waiting for the spot we were in. We were standing along a railing, and there were perhaps 12 other people on the 800 sqft patio, none near us. (And no one took our spot when we left. See photo of the spot "other people" wanted.) Usually one of our favorite places to eat for a quick bite. Today's experience tho was unprofessional and was lacking. Our wait time after we called in our order was 30 minutes which was fine because it is a very busy Saturday around lunch time, understandable, but the rude attitude I received while taking my order was unnecessary. She was in a hurry to get off the phone with me, kept repeating "is that all, is that all" while continuing to grow annoyed with me. When I asked for a plain cheese burger with cheese and ketchup only, her reply was "uh yeah that is exactly what a plain cheese burger is, duh" and not in a playful joking manner. I also preceeded to order a couple burger baskets and was not informed that even though you may ask for a burger basket that no longer Includes French fries, so basically the burger basket has been phased out but I was not informed of that over the phone, so when I received my order and there was no fries, I let them know I didn't receive my French fries and she told me I did not order any then left the window. Also got the wrong ingredients in my salad, specifically ordered and paid for extra ranch and did not receive that either. Even though this was a bad experience I will still continue to support this local business with the hopes they get better throughout the summer or maybe this employee was just having a bad day or a rough time handling the lunch rush. read more
