Because we do not live in the area, we had to do a significant amount of research, ask detailed questions, and place a great deal of trust in the person we chose. May appeared professional, was knowledgeable about her services, and clearly cares about animals. Based on our early interactions, she seemed capable and experienced. However, communication became a major concern. Email responses were very slow, and important details were not provided until the last minute. The most concerning issue occurred one week before the wedding, when we finally received an invoice that included unexpected charges. While we were initially quoted $75 per hour, the invoice included over $200 in additional "consultation" fees. There was no formal consultation--only a few email exchanges (approximately 3-4 emails) requesting basic information about services and timelines, many of which went unanswered. Due to the lack of timely communication and the surprise fees so close to our wedding date, we ultimately felt uncomfortable moving forward and canceled our plans. Future clients may want to clarify all fees in writing upfront and ensure communication expectations are clearly established.

May watched my cats for 4 days and took excellent care of them. She helped ease my anxiety before I left and made sure my cats were well cared for while I was away. She kept things tidy, handled their complicated feeding needs, interacted with my cats kindly, sent me updates, and even cleaned up when one of my kitties did a scarf and barf. I would definitely use May again next time I need to go out of town. Thank you, May! =^..^=

I worked with the company for about 2 1/2 years and loved forming the relationships with all the furry clients and with Brendan(owner) and Elizabeth (operations manager) . You can rest assured the team members caring for your fur babies will love your pets and give them wonderful care, as I did. They also spend as much time as needed communicating with owners to book services, or answer any questions or concerns you may have. Brendan is one of those bosses that truly appreciates your hard work and always lets you know it. He is honest and fair in all aspects of his business. I have worked for other pet care/boarding business in the New Orleans area and can honestly say I would much rather have my pets stay in the safety and comfort of their home than go to a boarding facility. When I had to go out of town I had no doubts that my dog and cat were in good hands with the K9 team. I got an emails at each visit with an update on how they were doing and pictures. They use an app that lets you tracks what time they come and go from your home, where they walked your dog, and provides you with an update and pictures from the visit. K9 will accommodate all kinds of requests that you need or just want for your pet. I would recommend K9 Second Line to everyone, every time!

However, during Mardi Gras (a crazy time in the city), we went on a cruise with no cell signal. I decided it was time to call in professionals. I knew that no matter what happened, Brendan and his team are licensed, insured and trained to handle anything related to my dog and were also going to look after my home. The peace of mind was invaluable. Please see the attached photo. They send an email each time they walk your pet -- with photos! I guess most people get these while they're gone, but it was such a treat to read them all when I returned to signal. Thanks guys! This was truly a blessing!

After 3 trainings with her, he is well on his way to being a great K-9 citizen! She was very patient and did a great job explaining why the things we did would work. There was an option first to cancel, which I did not press because that was not my intention. Subsequent ones came asking me to confirm or cancel, but I did not see u ntil later. There was one around 11 am of the day of my 1 pm appointment that said " Hey, are you coming." I did not notice any of these, nor subsequent texts that the appointment was cancelled until I appeared at 1 pm for the appointment. I was told there was a policy that the appointment would be cancelled, but I explained I did not know that and did not recall being advised of it when I booked in person a few days before. I have not had such an experience with other groomers. The groomer also insisted she had called me, but I later checked my phone for voice mails or missed calls and saw nothing from Petco. The worst thing, however, was the rudeness and condescension. I am 78 and was lectured about the text policy multiple times as if I were a child. I attempted to reschedule but did not understand what service packages included what and could not understand her diction easily as it was very regionalized. I do not have a hearing problem. She complained I had taken up 20 minutes of her time and again lectured me about the text policy. I did, frankly, lose my temper and told her she was being rude and I would not schedule with Petco again. I apologize to Petco for the time it took and my losing my temper. I felt truly broadsided by her attitude. No effort was made to apologize to me for any inconvenience. I was new to going to Petco for grooming, do not have a dog, as the dog belonged to a family member who needed the favor. A little training in customer relations, not managing or insulting, could go a long way. Hint, also: not everyone has the time to monitor their texts. A courteous phone call truly made could go a long way.
