Great place for all things animals. I frequent this establishment for dog food & my pet needs. While it's NOT the only store I visit, I do make it a place to go. The store is so open, free to LEASHED pets, friendly staff, industry average pricing... PLUS they have a rewards program. Oh and did I mention, righhhhhttttt next door is an animal clinic. Talk about WIN-WIN!!! Upon my visit I was going to get dog food & to redeem this sweet, sweet offer for Sunny's bday treat!!! And that's what I did. Picked up her food & then the treats. The "free treat offer" maxed out at $5.99, but I picked a higher priced item & I knew I'd be asked to pay the difference at check-out. As I head to the register, the "fun" began. I must admit, it's NEVER A DULL A MOMENT HERE: As I got to the register, I noticed two young men purchasing an aquarium. I didn't see any fish, so their purchase was noticeably alarming. I did HOWEVER, see a small red & white box with small vent holes. Well I wondered what would comfortably fit inside... I looked and looked and never saw an animal and I just couldn't figure out what Petco could sell that'd be so tiny to comfortably fit in that box. Then I saw it... A SNAKE... A COLD BLOODED REPTILE... A LITTLE HISSER being held in the arms of one of the young men... I headed for the hills... Bye Felicia!!!! Soon they checked out & left yhr building, I returned to the register to get checked out myself... Can you say DONE!!!!! What an eventful day in Petco; I think I aged 10 years as a result of my not so close run-in with the snake. Ughhhh. I still have the creeps.

I took my dog in to get groomed. This was not his first time at the groomers but it was the first time we selected Petco for the service. He came home with both eyes SHUT. I called to ask the groomer if they made a mistake and got shampoo in his eyes. The groomer ASSURED me that she didn't. I took him back in and she ran out trying flush his eyes with something , I kindly asked her not to touch him. The manager was nice enough to refer me to the Vet next door and took care of the bill. The diagnosis was "EYE ULCER" but they had no explanation as to why, I felt they didn't want to elaborate because their somehow connected Petco. I left their Vet and went to my regular vet . My vet gave confirm that he did in fact have an eye ulcer due to CHEMICALS. We had to administer drops for over a week , his eyes didn't open for 3 days !!! I will NEVER take my dog back here for any reason!

Do not take your dog to get groomed here!!! Save your money and go to the Petco uptown or a PetsMart. They do not follow directions and have an attitude. I specifically said DO NOT CUT, just trim. I even said I don't want her looking much different , she just needs a clean up. They took it upon themselves to SHAVE HER! She looks like Falcore from the Neverending Story! And to add insult to Injury, literally, they knicked my baby and botched her paws. Just look at the before and after photos! My boyfriend picked her up , if I were there I would have had to ask them where the miscommunication lied and how they would feel if their dog was cut like that! Can't believe We paid for this. Never ever will I step foot in that store again.

My boy happy and smellin' good!

My dog is a rescue who is very skittish of new people (especially men) so I'm also nervous to drop him off for grooming. I booked an appointment with DJ and told him that Cobu needs love and slow movements but other than that, he should be fine. I just got my boy back I could tell DJ loves what he does and truly enjoys working with animals. He made Cobu feel very safe and now I have a wonderful smelling German Shedder. I will definitely be going back and using DJ again to keep up a normal routine!! Thank you!!

Came in yesterday to get a cone for my injured cat. Was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and immediately helped. They found exactly what I needed and I was in and out of the store in under 10 minutes!

Ann's positive approach and ability to tailor lessons on the fly to each dog's specific needs have made a world of difference in our lives. The group lessons help the dogs get comfortable around other people and dogs, and as owners you learn so much about your dog from seeing them react to others and also hearing other people's experiences and tips. Janette came over to our apartment to meet with us and Otis. During the meeting we were reassured - Janette is clearly an expert and cares deeply about the dogs she works with. After the first walk, Janette told us that Otis was nervous and struggled to stay with the pack or come when called. She suggested we do training walks, where she takes a smaller group of dogs out for a slightly higher price to focus on training. After only a month, Janette told us Otis was ready to graduate to normal walks. We noticed that Otis was more comfortable around other dogs and people, better behaved, and actually started to play at home. He is clearly a much happier dog since beginning his walks with Janette and Sabrina. I could not recommend R+ more highly. Janette and her team are professional, patient, and kind. My dog did not bite or has never bitten anyone or dog. If my dog is so bad, and aggressive, then why did she try to coax me to stay when I asked for my money back? Why didn't she tell me that my dog needed a muzzle, as per on her website . Saying aggressive dogs need a muzzle. Please read further for more. But I wrote this after her response to my review: .......In response to Jean's the owner's comment: Jean, 1st of all, Don't LIE. You said that if anyone wants to learn to loose leash walk their dog, we'd have to buy YOUR leather leashes.I asked why does it have to be leather? My leash was long enough. And you wouldn't give me an answer. You just said, "we'll take about that later. You even have it on your website that it has to be so long, so wide or else we have to buy yours. This is from your website: Dogs will be fitted with the correct leash and collar at time of registration The following items will not be permitted for use in the class: * Leashes that are too short, too wide or too narrow for the dog being trained * Choke chains that are too large or too long for the dog being trained * Pinch collars that are too heavy or too thin for the intended dog * Nylon leashes, nylon or buckle collars, and harnesses I DOGS WITHOUT PROPER EQUIPMENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR PROGRAM. Secondly, I wasn't aware that when a dog barks that it is "aggressive." If you think that's aggressive, then you have no business training dogs, because your assumptions and observations are way off! If my dog is so aggressive and a BOTHER TO OTHERS as you say, then WHY DID YOU TRY TO CONVINCE ME TO STAY? I'll tell you why.....You would have lost over $100 from me. Also, if my dog is so aggressive, then why didn't you tell me that she needs to wear a wired muzzle? (According to your website listed under the seminar section.) This is what it said: NOTE: * NO harnesses will be permitted for use once the Simanar gets underway. (Buckle collars can be used on smaller dogs with mild issues. Training equipment for everything else.) * Dog aggressive dogs may be required to wear a wire basket muzzle. Training equipment required. * People aggressive dogs will be required to wear a wire basket muzzle. Training equipment required. * Training equipment will be available for purchase during registration, or can be acquired ahead of time from most pet shops or feed stores. Jean, the fact that you tried to convince me to stay and that you didn't tell me that my dog needs a muzzle also shows me that she is not aggressive. Because a responsible trainer wouldn't let an aggressive dog near other people/dogs. I rest my case. As I've said in my review, I go to the dog park almost every day and my dog is NOT aggressive. In fact, she is submissive. She rolls over when she goes every time and she has NEVER bitten any dog or person or gotten into a dog fight. Yeah that's really aggressive.( sarcasm) I didn't see anyone complain to you or me about my dog. Your response tried to make me look like I deliberately was going around with my dog to other dogs. That was not the case. As per my review, I tried my best to keep my dog restrained. But it was like juggling with 1 hand trying to stand and fill out an application and restrain her. Also, don't try and blame your lack of organization of taking a whole hour to register people on me by saying that I caused a scene. You are using me for an excuse for you taking a whole hour to register people. When in fact, I "caused a scene" as you say, AFTER you took an hour to register people. And only then, because I had enough of your insults! Jean, the proof is in the pudding. I've noticed several other reviews complaining about your lack of organization and unprofessionalism too. So have you because you've responded negatively to them too. Not kick them out of class, publicly embarrass them and in the process use unnecessary force to make a point on an animal that did NOTHING wrong at that time. The way i was treated tonight by these "trainers" has me astonished and ashamed. I should have done more research. I should have protected my baby. Do not show concern or empathy when they physically jerk your dog onto pavement to show you why you need a choke collar. And do not at any point try to ask why. There was no reason in the womans eyes. I was not meant to work with her and she was not meant to work with my baby.
